Chapter 310: Turning point (3)
While Luke was finishing his preparations, he returned to Earth and checked things with his other flying fortress. He made that flying randomly, and that worked well since it hadn’t been attacked by Frank yet. Still, instead of checking that, he went to check things near the coast, and he saw that the number of sahuagins had decreased a lot.
Luke soon returned to the dark elves’ world and confirmed that nothing had changed there as well. While he liked the free time to train his skills, recently, he barely could control his eagerness to fight his enemies... it was hard to say if it was just his desire to prove himself, forcing him to feel like that or some other thing. Still, he was getting a lot more impatient over time.
Still, despite that, Luke kept doing his own things. Training hard while raising skeletons. He also used the mana of the crystal to help him raise even more skeletons. Still, since it had a limit on how much mana it could store, he already could see that he might need to buy others. In the end, it took Luke two days to make Concentrated Strike reach the next rank. Still, instead of being grateful for having the chance to do that, he felt frustrated because waiting was the only thing he could do. Putting his desire to fight aside, nothing good happens when you leave your enemies planning their actions for too long...
"I need to make them regret doing this... but making a move might give them the chance that they are looking for..." Luke thought while rubbing his chin.
When it comes to the knowledge regarding the whole situation, Luke was already on the same level as Rina and Shalia, so he couldn’t turn to them for guidance. Aivern probably will tell him things in order to shape the future the way he wanted, so he was out as well.
Luke wasn’t exactly at his best moment when it came to the turmoil in his head, so he didn’t have any other ideas. In the end, he could only do what he was doing and try to solve things along the way.
"Luke, you should relax a little bit," Rina said. "You didn’t sleep at all over the last week."
In the end, another week had passed without anything happening. Luke managed to control his thoughts, but the girls noticed that he was itching for a fight. At that point in time, saving Shalia’s world was just a side benefit for him, and while that kind of thought was exactly what Shalia wanted, she felt troubled seeing Luke like that. She had thought that turning him into some more ruthless person that doesn’t care about anything else aside from victory would make him even more interesting. Still, now she could only see a human with similar characteristics to the dark elves.
"Let’s go to my world for a few minutes. That way, I can give you... A massage that will help you a bit," Rina said, a bit embarrassed.
"Why do that when he can have it here?" Shalia asked. "Just lay down there for a minute, Luke. You will like this."
"Sorry, but I will have to pass," Luke said.
Both of them sighed. The usual Luke would gladly accept it and even ask if there would be a happy ending after. It was more than a little troubling for both of them at that point... that Luke had turned into a battle freak.
At that point in time, Luke had finished most of his preparations. He had some free time, but he decided to use more of that free time to keep practicing his skills. Rina thought that it was time to take some drastic measures, but before she could do that, they saw numerous flying fortress descending from the sky... It seemed that the overlords finally decided to make their move. Still, they didn’t decide to attack them... Instead of that, they were surrounding the area where Luke’s followers were operating.
Luke furrowed his eyebrows while considering his options. The enemies had around eight flying fortresses, but they stopped moving when they reached a certain height. Once that happened, hundreds of monsters began to jump from them toward the camps... They didn’t want Luke to rely on them to fight.
"Dad, and Mom, alongside the others will have to face the overlord that is in the ocean... With their numbers, they might pull it off, but if they get surrounded..." Luke thought.
Just in case, Luke decided to watch the back of his parents group, but then that would leave the other humans and dark elves vulnerable. Not to mention, it also would make the enemies realize that he didn’t want that specific group to be defeated. That was really troublesome...
"I need to give a hand to the other camps as well..." Luke said and then clicked his tongue. "It can’t be helped... and since it is only something to wipe out small fries, then it should be fine."
Luke created some big water spears and asked Shalia to freeze them. They shouldn’t be too big in order to make the enemies realize what he could do with their best... Weapon Augmentation has a range limit, but that limit increases when Luke uses his own arm strength until the last minute. The range increased even more since he used Concentrated Strike to throw those as well. In the end, Luke began to throw those ice spears alongside the highest level of his Weapon Augmentation. The horde of monsters that were about to attack the camps, suddenly exploded and flew toward all directions upon the impact of those. It was kind of insane that Luke could hit them twenty kilometers away...

Luke attacked the eight points that the monsters were dropping several times. It was the least he could do for his followers. Still, he soon would have to stop with that because he saw four flying fortresses moving toward him. At some point, they landed in a nearby spot and then Luke saw four figures leaving those. Luke had three others on his side, so they wanted a four against four battle... He will make that their pride will be their downfall.
