Chapter 2150: Chapter 2351: What Are You Doing Here?!
He glanced at the milk and other things that Zhang Danlin bought for him. He was already full from eating at Weiwei’s place, so he wasn’t hungry now. He couldn’t finish all of it, but to throw it away would disregard her kind gesture. So, he quietly entered the classroom, intending to put the things into his desk.
However, when he opened the desk, he saw another portion of food placed inside, prepared early for him. When he looked up, he saw Liang Xiaohan napping at her seat. Seeing this, he instantly understood — Liang Xiaohan wasn’t as heartless as she seemed. During the time he was dragged away by Li Weiwei, she had bought food for him and simply left it in his desk since he wasn’t around.
Seeing this, he was moved to tears again. Apparently, Liang Xiaohan wasn’t such a "cold-hearted person" after all; she did have a touch of kindness.
He returned to stand in the hallway, and soon it was time for class. Students started coming in one after another. Since Gu Peng hadn’t had any luck here in the morning, as witnessed by everyone, no one dared make trouble for Hao Jian, which gave him some peace of mind.
After the sixth period class in the afternoon, He Qiqi ran up to him and softly said, "Um... the homeroom teacher wants you to go to her office after this class."
Hao Jian nodded, saying, "Okay, got it."
He then headed towards Li Weiwei’s office, thinking to himself that this woman had finally acknowledged her conscience, sparing him from standing punishment any longer. As he walked towards the office, He Qiqi glanced at him a few times before returning to the classroom.
At the office door, since people were always coming and going and the door was open, he didn’t knock but directly walked towards Li Weiwei’s spot. Some teachers who looked up to see him entering showed a hint of helplessness on their faces.
Having stood in the hallway for the whole morning and afternoon, all the teachers had witnessed this. In their eyes, Hao Jian was the kind of trouble-making, unruly student. To them, having a student like him was synonymous with having a lot of trouble. So when they saw Hao Jian, they all shook their heads helplessly, feeling an extra sense of sympathy for Li Weiwei — why was she stuck with a student like him?
Of course, Hao Jian noticed but didn’t take it to heart, heading straight for Li Weiwei.
"Sit!" Li Weiwei, busy with work, didn’t look up but knew Hao Jian had arrived, pulled a chair over, and pointed at it for him to sit.
Li Weiwei actually let him sit, which made Hao Jian feel a bit flattered. He sat down and watched her as she busily wrote with her pen, not knowing why she called him over. He looked at her bewilderedly.
Li Weiwei didn’t pay attention to him and continued with her work. After a few minutes, when the bell rang and the teachers in the office left for class, she finally looked seriously at Hao Jian.
"Tired from standing?" Li Weiwei suddenly asked.
Hao Jian, using a mock tone, nodded, "Tired! Of course, tired. Why don’t you try standing all morning and afternoon to see if you’d get tired?"
He even gave Li Weiwei a look as if to say, "Why don’t you give it a try?" Li Weiwei, seeing this, rolled her eyes at him and asked again, "Tired? Then will you still skip class when I’m not around next time? And you even dared not to answer my calls! You’re really bold, huh!"
Since Li Weiwei called him over, Hao Jian knew she had softened. Seizing the opportunity, he said, "I won’t dare anymore, I won’t dare anymore, I promise not to do it again next time."
Hearing him say this, Li Weiwei put down her work, looked at him seriously, and asked, "Really won’t dare anymore?"
Hao Jian quickly nodded, "Really won’t dare anymore!"
He spoke with utmost sincerity, as if confessing to a past mistake, and Li Weiwei believed him. She didn’t say anything further and continued with her work. Hao Jian just watched from the side, not talking or doing anything, his eyes fixated on Li Weiwei.
Watching Li Weiwei carefully, he realized not only was she beautiful and charming as usual, but she was even more beautiful when working seriously. That serious beauty instantly touched something deep inside him. He became captivated, discovering a beauty in Li Weiwei he hadn’t noticed before.
After a while, Li Weiwei tidied up her things, picked them up, and stood up. Looking at Hao Jian, she said, "I need to go out for a bit. There are some files on the computer to be printed, placed on the desk. Please print them for me so I can have them when I return, okay?"
She finished speaking and looked at Hao Jian, asking, "You know how to print documents, right?"
Hao Jian nodded and said, "Alright! No problem."
After hearing Hao Jian, she didn’t say anything more. She looked very busy, picked up her things, and walked out, still holding her phone while busily replying to messages. Watching her, Hao Jian silently felt a pang of sympathy. Being a class teacher is really tiring, always busy with various things. He felt sorry just watching her.
But while he was thinking this, Li Weiwei had already walked out. Looking at the computer, he felt a little dumbfounded. So, she called him over just to have him help with her work. It wasn’t out of the kindness of letting him rest, but rather another way to get him to do work. Women, he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
Nonetheless, he followed Li Weiwei’s instructions and printed the few files on her desktop. With a quick glance, he found they were materials related to applications for outstanding teacher awards. He thought to himself, no wonder she was so busy today; she was occupied with this.
Every year around this time is the teacher evaluation period. Although Li Weiwei is a newcomer, she is a fresh blood in the teaching industry, and her achievements are genuinely impressive. When it comes to applying for outstanding teacher, she is more than qualified.
Seeing this, Hao Jian smiled, printed all the documents, and organized and bound them. Then, he sat idly by the side.
Before long, Li Weiwei returned. Seeing Hao Jian had perfectly completed the tasks she assigned, she was a bit surprised. Her gaze towards Hao Jian was slightly impressed, then she sat down to continue her work. Unconsciously, the seventh period ended.
In the meantime, Li Weiwei was so busy she forgot about Hao Jian, who was patient enough to sit and watch her work. Later, when she really couldn’t handle it anymore, she actually asked Hao Jian for help. The two of them worked together in the office, and time passed unnoticed.
Finally, a few minutes into the night self-study session, everything was perfectly finished. Li Weiwei stretched lazily, having completed all these tasks. She then organized the documents to send to her superiors and put away the physical documents too, as she had to take them to the teaching office later.
She suddenly looked at Hao Jian, just now remembering he had been working with her this whole time. In the morning and afternoon, Hao Jian was made to stand as punishment, and just now he had been helping her nonstop without resting, and hadn’t even eaten dinner. At this moment, she felt a bit guilty looking at Hao Jian.
After tidying up, looking at Hao Jian, she said, "Now that you’ve realized your error and you’ve been punished, have you reflected on your actions?"
Hao Jian quickly nodded, "I’ve reflected, I’ve reflected."
Hearing this, she didn’t plan to pursue the matter further and said, "Alright, we’ve been busy up till now, let’s go out for dinner together."
Hao Jian didn’t speak, but Li Weiwei was already getting up and preparing to walk out. Hao Jian smiled and quickly followed. To say he wasn’t hungry would be a lie; since Li Weiwei had realized she owed him a meal, it was only fair after all his help.
Since it was during the night self-study, everything around was quiet, except for some dedicated teachers lecturing on the podium during self-study. The two of them walked out of the teaching building and towards the school gate.
"Hey... I saw you were busy with the outstanding teacher application. How likely do you think you are to succeed?" As they walked, Hao Jian teased Li Weiwei.
Li Weiwei rolled her eyes at him, "What’s it to you? Mind your own business!"
Her words stopped Hao Jian in his tracks. He stared at Li Weiwei dumbfounded, not expecting that even if she lacked other skills, her talent for shutting people up was growing daily.
The two continued walking, but just as they were about to reach the school gate, Li Weiwei suddenly stopped in her tracks, looking a bit dumbfounded.
Hao Jian followed her gaze, curious about what caused her state, and when he saw it, he was momentarily stunned too. But then, a smile appeared on his face.
"Uncle, Aunt, what brings you here?" Hao Jian said with a playful smile, then walked up to them.
Indeed, just as they were about to leave the school gate, Li Weiwei’s parents walked in, both momentarily stunned, wondering why the two elderlies were here at this time.
However, Hao Jian had a clever idea, feeling a bit cunning. Since she made him stand punished for so long without pity, he decided to let her face some embarrassment.
