Chapter 2149: Chapter 2350: Eat!!!
This time, Hao Jian once again surprised everyone, refreshing their perception of him. It turns out he’s so awesome that he doesn’t even care about Gu Peng, who’s considered the top figure in the grade. This would have been enough, but today he even made Gu Peng lose face big time. Awesome! Many people just want to say these two words to Hao Jian.
Soon, the class bell rang, and after witnessing the commotion, people slowly returned to their classrooms to prepare for class. At that moment, Liu Jie brought a group of people up, sensing something was wrong, he grabbed someone and asked about what had happened.
Immediately, he recalled how Hao Jian had sent him to the hospital before. He was thinking, where on earth did this Hao Jian come from, being such a good fighter that so many people couldn’t beat him? Where did he learn these skills?
But that’s just the first question. More than that, he was filled with shame and anger, which turned into fury. Letting you act arrogant, you made Brother Peng lose face in front of everyone, see if Brother Peng will let you off easily. Just wait, your death day is near, anyway, it’s just a day or two until Friday, let’s see how miserably you’ll end up then.
Liu Jie walked past Hao Jian with a smug face, accompanied by a few close friends from his class.
At this moment, the second bell for class had already rung, and everyone was already back in the classroom. Before long, the teachers came in with their books. They weren’t surprised to see Hao Jian still standing in the hallway, adopting an attitude of automatically ignoring him.
In response, Hao Jian didn’t care at all, didn’t pay it any mind. If any teacher looked at him differently at this time, he would actually be surprised.
Then, the class commenced, and dozens of minutes passed quickly. To Hao Jian’s surprise, Weiwei didn’t come to check if he was properly standing as punishment. She didn’t come during the third period, and also not during the fourth period. He didn’t expect that Weiwei would suddenly give up on him.
He was indifferent; standing was not tiring for him at all. In fact, he found sitting in the classroom listening to those so-called teachers’ lectures overwhelmingly boring. Standing outside alone was peaceful and comfortable, quite enjoyable.
"Ding!" The bell for the end of the fourth period rang.
Fatty Hu Lai and the others smirked at Hao Jian and walked past with playful grins. Fights, they could support because they’re brothers, but since this punishment is from the homeroom teacher, nobody asked you to skip class alone last night without taking a few brothers along. Otherwise, there would have been someone to accompany you in this punishment. So now, you’re just going to stand there as punishment alone.
Xiaohai also walked past Hao Jian and then left; Qiqi gave a few more glances but still walked away. Almost everyone in the class had left, but Hao Jian remained standing alone in the hallway. If he had to give face to Weiwei, he wanted to do it completely, showing her that no one dared defy her orders.
See, even someone who dared to challenge someone like Gu Peng, when it comes to Weiwei’s command to stand as punishment, he still has to obediently comply. He was doing Weiwei a favor.
Danlin suddenly walked out of the classroom and came up to him, asking, "Why are you in a dispute with the homeroom teacher, standing all night? Take a break."
Hao Jian shook his head and said, "It’s nothing, it’s not tiring at all."
Having stood all morning, how could it not be tiring? She thought Hao Jian was lying, pretending to be a hero, and said, "What do you want to eat? I’ll buy it for you. Otherwise, standing here without food or drink isn’t good. The teacher said you have to stand as punishment but didn’t say you can’t eat."
Hearing this, Hao Jian still shook his head and said, "Uh... I’m not hungry. You go eat."
Hearing this, a trace of displeasure appeared on Danlin’s face. Is he dumb or really not hungry? Her intentions were so clear, yet he wouldn’t accept her goodwill, making it hard for her to talk to him normally, leaving her feeling awkward.
What Danlin didn’t know was that Hao Jian was indeed a bit hungry, but he couldn’t ask her to bring him something. One reason is, if he truly wanted to eat, he’d go himself. The other is, he was deliberately keeping a bit of distance, not wanting to cross that line and also trying to curb her thoughts and feelings gradually.
Hearing this, Danlin merely uttered an "Oh" and then said no more, rolling her eyes at Hao Jian before walking away with a face full of disappointment.
Upon seeing this, Hao Jian helplessly shook his head and sighed, thinking what kind of trouble was this. But just then, he suddenly noticed someone quietly walking over from the other side of the hallway. He was initially leaning against the wall, seeing this, he immediately stood up straight, obediently standing there.
It was none other than Weiwei walking over from the other side of the hall, and there was no one else but her. Hao Jian stood there waiting for her, she came over, first scrutinized Hao Jian, then said straightforwardly, "Follow me!"
As soon as she said it, she walked ahead directly. Hao Jian looked at her back puzzled, not knowing what she was up to again, walk? Where to? Even though he thought that way, he still obediently followed her quietly.
Slowly, he started realizing where she was taking him. It was to her single office given by the school.
At the door of the private room, Weiwei took out the key and opened the door. Then she glanced at Hao Jian, who followed her inside and closed the door. At this moment, he looked at her with confusion. What was she planning?
Weiwei pointed at the boxed lunch on the table and said, "Eat!"
Ah, he understood what Weiwei wanted. Apparently, this was a bit of a trick, treating him poorly first and then inviting him for a meal. It seemed she felt guilty for making him stand for a whole morning, so now she was asking him to eat. Looks like she had a change of heart.
He pretended to look fearful and said to Weiwei, "Uh... I’m not hungry, I can keep standing, no need to eat."
Weiwei immediately knew Hao Jian was just being stubborn and simply said, "Eat!"
Without further ado, Hao Jian sat down, grabbed the chopsticks, and opened the lid, eating heartily. He noticed that if he didn’t eat, her next step might’ve been to take action against him. He had no interest in arguing with her, so since she told him to eat, he did.
Very quickly, Hao Jian picked up his chopsticks and began devouring the food. As luck would have it, he was a bit hungry, so he ate rather quickly, finishing the box of rice in no time. He waved his hand at Weiwei and said, "Water! A glass of water! I’m thirsty."
She gave him a glare but got up, picked up a cup, and filled it from the water dispenser, handing it to Hao Jian. He took the water and drank it all in one go, incredibly refreshing. Even though it was just a glass of water, since Weiwei had handed it to him, it felt exceptionally satisfying.
After eating, he patted his belly and sat there, looking satisfied. Weiwei suddenly got up and kicked him, saying, "Now go back and continue standing!"
"Really?" Hao Jian seemed a bit surprised, thinking Weiwei had a moment of conscience and bought him a meal out of kindness. Yet unexpectedly, it was just to eat and then continue standing, catching him off guard.
Weiwei gave him another glare, and he got up, saying, "Alright, alright, I’ll go and keep standing."
Without further discussion, he stood up, opened the door, and walked out, leaving Weiwei alone in the room in a daze. Hao Jian walked to the classroom and stood in the corridor, leaning against the wall, lost in thought, unaware that someone had walked up behind him.
"Here! Eat! I didn’t know what you liked, so I bought a bit of everything." Danlin nudged Hao Jian from behind.
Hao Jian snapped back to reality and turned around to look at Danlin, a bit lost for words. Originally, he wanted to refuse her goodwill to stop her from overthinking, but unexpectedly, she had already bought stuff for him.
Looking down at the things in her hand, he hesitated a bit. If he accepted, it seemed a bit wrong since he was determined not to let her continue thinking too much. But if he didn’t accept, it would be impolite since she went out of her way to buy these and bring them to him.
He found himself in an awkward dilemma.
"Thanks!" he said.
After a moment of inner struggle, he finally reached out and took the things Danlin offered and placed them aside.
"Eat!" Danlin urged, "You’ve been standing all morning; how can you not eat?"
He had already eaten quite a lot with Weiwei, and now he was full, so he said, "I’ll eat later, I’m not really in the mood right now."
Danlin acknowledged with an "Oh," saying, "Alright, but make sure you eat; don’t let yourself go hungry."
Hao Jian replied, "Sure, sure, I won’t let myself go hungry."
Danlin sensed from Hao Jian’s tone that he didn’t want her to stay, so after delivering the things, she smiled and left.
Watching Danlin enter the classroom, Hao Jian finally breathed a sigh of relief.
