Chapter 1053: The situation at the gate and the decision-making.

The broadcast that had previously shown a group of beautiful women suddenly changed to an image of Idan’s doppelganger. Then there was a blinding white flash, followed by a dark screen, and then the entrance to the dungeon.

Everyone who was watching was momentarily blinded by the bright flash, and the chat went quiet for a while. This was followed by a new wave of comments.

——————–

[WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!!]

[IS THIS AN EXPLOSION OR THE END OF THE WORLD???]

[?????]

[SCREEN IS WHITE, AAAAA]

[I almost WENT BLIND!]

[WHAT KIND OF ATTACK IS THIS POWERFUL?!]

[WAS IT A WEAPON???]

[I saw that the side from the Federation pulled out something that looked like a BOMB!]

[Is this the work of the Federation???]

——————–

Octavian and Cassian, seeing the flash in the broadcast, looked at each other, and a faint smile appeared on their faces.

“Did it really work?” they asked themselves, anxiously watching the gate.

In less than a couple of seconds, the entire female group that had just entered was thrown out of the gate. Everyone, without exception, was unconscious.

“What happened?” someone exclaimed upon seeing this.

The sudden appearance of all the women at the same time could mean only one thing: they were all dead, and, worst of all, almost at the same time.

Each side acted quickly, taking their own people. Prina appeared first and took Irene and the others, not allowing anyone to encroach on the defenseless girls.

After a while, the gate shone, and twenty beasts emerged from it. These were the very beasts that Idan had subdued and turned into vampire beasts.

Their appearance caused surprise and only increased curiosity, the desire to find out what really happened inside.

Octavian smiled broadly at the sight of the beasts, and his hope that they would be able to kill the Gatekeepers increased. He stared intently at the dungeon’s rules wall, expecting it to announce the end of the test any minute now.

Some creatures from other worlds, upon seeing the beasts that had previously killed them inside the dungeon, wanted to take revenge. However, they were stopped by their own comrades, pointing towards the Kingdom. There was a tall beauty in black standing there, with a big smile on her face. She seemed to be looking forward to someone breaking the truce and giving her the opportunity to make her move.

In the end, fearing a sixth-rank creature and remembering Prina’s words, no one dared to attack these twenty beasts.

Minutes passed.

Detectives began to appear in the chat, analyzing the events, trying to figure out exactly what had happened.

Soon, the Lord of the Domain of Saints and the Dark Dragoness received information about what had happened, but even they did not know what had led to such a consequence.

There was only a suspicion that the Federation side was behind this.

After all, it was their representatives who suggested sending an exclusively female group, which became the reason for suspicion.

By this time, Octavian’s smile had already left his face.

His anxiety grew by the minute, but he did not give up hope.

The situation became even more complicated when the appointed 10 minutes had passed, but the Gate, which had never failed before, did not open for the first time.

This event made it clear that something serious had happened in the dungeon, which had an impact on the dungeon itself.

The attention of the Lord of the Domain of Saints and the Dark Dragoness immediately shifted to the Federation.

A shudder ran through Octavian’s body, and he began to frantically search for excuses for his actions.

Neither he nor anyone else who was involved in this expected that their actions would lead to such consequences. To them, the Systems Dungeon seemed invincible, and they did not believe that an ordinary nuclear bomb explosion could cause such harm.

Suddenly, the text on the dungeon rules wall disappeared and a new announcement appeared.

——————

[THE TEMPORARY DUNGEON GATE OPENING EVENT HAS ENDED PREMATURELY DUE TO THE DESTRUCTION OF THE ARENA AND THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRIAL.]

[GOAL: DEFEAT THE GATEKEEPERS AND ENTER THE GATE – FAILED.]

[VICTORY IS AWARDED TO THE GATEKEEPERS.]

[THE DUNGEON GATES WILL OPEN TO ALL COMERS AT 20:48:59.]

——————

Then a huge timer appeared above the gate, which began counting down for more than twenty hours.

“What, the trial failed?”

“What the hell happened?”

Octavian’s heart sank at the sight of the announcement.

He realized that they had miscalculated.

With such a result, they couldn’t just hush up the matter. Especially now, when two Rank 6 creatures were looming over them, demanding answers.

Yulaya, who was watching from the sidelines, thought with a slight grin:

“Serves you right.”

She returned to Irene and the others, who were still unconscious. On the one hand, Yulaya was very worried about them, but on the other hand, she was in high spirits because of the announcement.

Knowing that the gatekeepers were most likely Idan and Arabel, she was glad that the reward for this event went to their Kingdom and not to other forces.

She also couldn’t wait to meet them and find out on what terms they participated in this event, and how the hell did Idan become a vampire and Arabel a dragon? Yulaya also wanted to hear exactly what words of forgiveness her sister would say for killing her earlier.

Only a few people guessed that Idan and Arabel were the gatekeepers of the dungeon. And that was only because of the hints they gave themselves. And many believed that they were creatures of the dungeon itself.

However, when the Dungeon declared its Gatekeepers the winners, a legitimate question arose: who are they really?

Were they creatures from the Dungeon or people from the outside world, just like themselves?

If that’s the case, can they actually see a handsome Vampire and a jealous Dragoness?

***

In the dungeon, after some thought and discussion, Idan and Arabel still hadn’t come to a final decision. They couldn’t decide whether to accept the dungeon’s offer or reject it.

Fighting against their avatars as challengers meant performing in their true bodies. And considering that Arabel was in the early stages of pregnancy, this posed a risk to her and the unborn child.

They both saw in the broadcasts that although death inside the dungeon did not mean death outside, everyone who died inside was thrown out of it unconscious. Even if they weren’t physically injured, they were definitely experiencing an emotional blow, which was undesirable for Arabel in her condition.

Idan was inclined to decline the offer. To him, the well-being of his wife and unborn child was more important than the ghostly rewards of the dungeon. Besides, they have already won by becoming Gatekeepers, and even if they refuse, they will benefit.

Arabel also couldn’t make up her mind. On the one hand, she wanted to speak out against her avatar, but on the other, she was worried about the fate of her unborn child.

And most importantly, their system has already answered this question. Although the risk is minimal, it still exists. The system did not give any advice, completely leaving the choice and its consequences on their conscience.

“System,” — Idan called, interrupting his thoughts. “Tell me this. Will our avatars have your unique abilities?”𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

[No. The Host avatars created by the dungeon’s power will not have the unique abilities of this System.]

“Are you sure?” asked Idan.

[This System is one hundred percent sure.]

“Okay,” — Idan nodded and, turning to Arabel, took her hands. Both of them were still in their avatars’ bodies.

“You trust me, don’t you?” he asked, looking into his wife’s dragon eyes.

Charmed by her husband’s serious scarlet gaze, Arabel nodded.:

“Yes, I trust in you.”

“Okay, then please trust me and don’t resist,” Idan asked.

Then he looked up and said:

“System, I’m willing to accept the dungeon’s offer to fight against our avatars as a Challenger. I’m the only one.”

“Dan…” — Arabel tried to intervene, but Idan looked into her eyes and tightened his grip on her hand.

“Trust me,” he sent through a mental link.

“I am ready to perform alone, but with one condition. I want my wife to be there too, but not as a participant, but as a simple observer.”

“If the Dungeon agrees to my conditions, I accept this offer.”

“Dan…” — Arabel didn’t want Idan to risk it alone. She wanted to stop him and offer to withdraw, but the system was faster.

[The Dungeon is according to the conditions of the Host]

[Host, are you confident in your decision and ready to become a Challenger to compete alone without your partner against two of your avatars?]

“Yes,” Idan agreed without hesitation, giving Arabel a reassuring smile.
