Chapter 2379: The Law of Origin.

"Can... I return to my wives if I accept your gift?"

Nux asked as he looked at her with a determined look on his face. As if the moment the Seer said yes, whatever it was, he was going to accept it.

But...

"I do not know."

The Seer answered honestly.

"You said I could."

Nux narrowed his eyes.

"In theory, yes.

But...

We are already standing in the territory of the unknown, what I even call a theory, isn’t a theory by definition, it is merely a prediction I made after observing the Multiverse all this while and can undeniably be affected by my wish for it to be true."

"So you arranged all this, turning your own Soul into a relic, having yourself be killed, planning my death, then risking my life hoping it would work out, all of it—

On a whim?"

"..."

The Seer didn’t say anything.

While Nux’s words were an extremely diluted version of everything she had planned, thought and done so far—

At their very core—

What she did was nothing more than a desperate move to get out of this hell and... live.

So yes, she did it all on a whim and if she had a choice—

She would do it all over again.

Nux looked at her for a good while, none of them knew how much time had passed, or if time had passed at all.

But in the end—

"Alright."

Nux bit it.

"What’s your gift?"

He asked.

What choice did he even have?

He was stuck in a place he knew next to nothing about, with no way of returning, his physical body, his Soul and his connection to his own Universe erased—

He couldn’t sense his wives, he couldn’t sense his children, he couldn’t sense... anything.

All he could see was this ridiculously vast Multiverse that held basically no meaning to him since his wives weren’t next to him.

So yes.

He was desperate.

And in his desperation, he had no choice but to seek the Seer’s help, again, after being betrayed by her once.

"If you betray me again..."

He muttered.

The Seer looked at him, he looked at her face and then, he just sighed—

"I don’t even know what I would do or who I’d be angrier at, you or myself."

"It would be you."

The Seer answered with certainty.

"I did not want you to answer that."

Nux felt his mouth twitching as the Seer nodded, she looked a little sheepish as she did that. It was cute.

Nux, however, shook his head.

"Now tell me what your gift is."

He demanded and once again, the Seer pointed at the Multiverse in front of him.

"I wish to gift you my ability."

She explained.

"The ability... you have...?"

"You see this vast Multiverse?"

"Yes, it is pretty hard to miss."

"There are nine vigintillion, seven hundred eighty-four novemdecillion, six hundred thirteen octodecillion Universes in here."

She took a small pause, as if she wanted Nux to digest what she just said, and then, she dropped an even bigger bomb.

"I can visit any one of these Universes, at any point in time, be it its beginning, its end, or a particular event that I desire."

"But you do not have a physical body, so you cannot properly interact with any of these Universes."

Nux pointed out, he had learned enough from their conversation. The Seer expected that, actually, the more Nux understood from their conversation and started inferring things on his own, the more confident she became that this might work out the way she expected it to.

"That is correct."

She nodded.

"I cannot interact with those Universes because of the Multiverse’s restriction but..."

She looked at him, Nux narrowed his eyes when he saw her expression, then, he tilted his head—

"Are you saying that I... can...?"

"The Multiverse has no Authority over you because you do not belong to it, so if you learn how to enter and leave any Universe you please and are able to interact with it, then—"

"Then I can return to my own Universe and my wives."

Nux interrupted as the light in his eyes shined at the possibility.

"Exactly."

The Seer nodded and the more Nux thought about it, the more believable it all looked.

"Alright then, let’s do it.

Tell me how I am supposed to do what you do."

He asked.

After all, while the Seer said she could enter any Universe at any point in time, he didn’t have that ability, neither had he seen the Seer do it in front of him.

All he could see right now was the Multiverse, he didn’t even know if the branches the Seer had pointed out were the actual Universes, let alone being able to enter them.

From here, he couldn’t interact with any of them.

"Well, I can’t exactly just tell you how I do it."

The Seer slowed him down.

"You need to learn it."

"How am I supposed to learn if you do not teach me?"

Nux frowned. Then, he thought of another thing and—

"Let me read your memories, I will learn what I need to on my own."

The Seer however, just laughed at those words.

"Don’t bother.

You will be overwhelmed.

I have quindecillions of years’ worth of memories in my head and this is just what I recall—

If you read my memories from the beginning, you will simply lose yourself and lose your own consciousness."

"..."

Nux didn’t say anything.

If anyone else had said these words to him, he would have laughed it off. Nux had literal Worlds’ worth of memories in his head, even the memories of an Infinity couldn’t overwhelm him.

But—

While he did have Worlds’ worth of memories in him, at best, it was only a few hundred quintillion.

It was... nowhere near the number the Seer just mentioned.

If there was any being who could overwhelm his mind with her memories, it was her.

The only being whose brain held more information than his...

Nux looked at her, somewhat taken aback, once again, he couldn’t help but realize what sort of existence she actually was.

The most knowledgeable being in the entire Multiverse.

"Then what do I do?"

He asked.

"You learn what I learned after clearing the Temple of Time and coming here.

The Law of Origin."
