Chapter 1733: Rest in Peace

After the ceremony, they held a modest banquet. There were not many people invited, so they could talk to all of them.

Nathan just smiled. Even though they were not his parents, he hoped that the original Nathan could be happy if he saw this. He’d love to have his parents happy.

Just as he vowed in the past, he would take care of them until he couldn’t anymore. This was the respect Nathan gave to the original Nathan who brought him into this world.

Because of the original Nathan, he could be this happy... he could marry nine amazing women... he could create a family.

Nathan remembered the past where his father used to beat him, the time when he feared for his life, the moment his stomach growled for not being able to eat, the pain in his stomach for trying to eat all kinds of food that might already have expired, the neglect of his mother, or even the time he ran away from his home.

All of them had become distant memories.

It had been four years since he had arrived in this world. In those four years, he achieved his dream. However, he knew that achieving his dream and protecting it were two different things.

He knew how hard it was to protect this dream, and he swore that he would protect it even if it cost his life.

Nathan felt like tearing up. He had experienced a lot of things. He hoped he could finally be honest with all of them, despite knowing that they would probably accept him.

Looking at his nine wives, Nathan thought, ’Look how far I’ve gone.’

However, this was not the end. There was never an end. Whenever he could see the end, he could see a new beginning.

And this time, it was the beginning of his new family.

Still, to be able to see through it, Nathan had to overcome the final challenge.

After the banquet was done, the guests started returning one by one. Nathan offered to teleport them back, but all of them refused and preferred to take the teleportation circle to the city at the bottom of the mountain.

This was the city that the Dragon King had supervised all this time. King Julius had also made a teleportation magic circle for this city.

It was in the middle of the night, so not many would see them. It wouldn’t attract unnecessary attention.

The reason for them to reject Nathan’s offer was simply to let the children handle the remaining matters.

Yes, he had nine wives. That also meant there were nine people who were hungry for affection. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"..." Nathan gulped and awkwardly turned around. "Ladies, how about..."

"How about we uphold your promise?" Selena smiled.

"Indeed, you have been talking about equality." Sera nodded in agreement.

"We are equal." Alavenya smirked.

"That also means that this is our first night." Flora raised one finger.

"No one is left behind." Noelle grabbed his right hand.

"I know you are a man with integrity." Vivian held his left hand.

"That’s why you can’t escape." Bella licked her lip.

"Look! Isn’t this the consequence of my action?" Evelyn chuckled, imitating what Nathan might think.

"I wonder if that is a loss or a win..." Alavenya closed her eyes.

"Ladies... I can help several of you, but I am afraid that I can’t satisfy all of you at the same time. May we negotiate?"

All of them said the same thing. "No."

...

One week later.

Iris was sitting in the living room, staring at Nathan’s picture.

"..." Aris, who happened to cross the corridor, couldn’t help but stop and ask, "Sister. What are you doing?"

"Aris? I’m just praying for his well-being."

"But you look at him as if he’s dead. He’s not dead, you know?" Aris smiled wryly.

"Yeah, about that..." Iris scratched the back of her head. "It’s not something a kid like you should worry about."

"Excuse me? We are twins!"

Iris sighed and patted Aris’s shoulder. "I don’t mind you having a harem, but just don’t make it beyond your capability. I don’t want to see you dying after your wedding."

"Like I said, he’s not dead." Aris’s eyebrows twitched. "Well, I will definitely remember that. I don’t even have anyone I’m interested in yet. Besides, I’m more worried about you."

"Me?"

"Yes. You are his disciple. I’m thinking that you may have multiple husbands yourself following in his footsteps." Aris pointed up, as though he was pointing at Nathan’s room.

Iris harrumphed. "You are still a kid. I might end up outliving you, so I still have a very long time to find my love."

"..." Aris smiled wryly. "Anyway, I will need your help to bring the new bed. They should have just arrived. I just hope they don’t break anything else."

Iris shrugged. "Well, I have free time anyway, so I will accompany you. By the way, how is the other matter?"

"Their honeymoon? Of course, I’ve prepared for it. The honeymoon will last for a week. We have prepared all the places, from the mountain villa to the beach house to even the underground mansion. At this rate, why not make a floating island? Considering our lord’s power, I feel like he can make a floating island."

"Good idea. I will suggest it to him later. Anyway, I will tell them that they can just teleport to their destination for their honeymoon later." Iris waved her hand. "Let’s go."

Aris nodded. "Indeed."

"By the way, those places have been vacated, right? I don’t want other people to disturb them."

"Of course. Everything is well-prepared."

"Very good."

While they were walking to the exit, Aris couldn’t help but whisper, "Is our lord still alive?"

"I don’t know. There are nine of them in that room. If it were you, would you still be alive?"

"..." Aris looked away. "May you rest in peace, my lord."

Iris halted her steps and turned around as though she were offering her prayer. Aris also did the same quietly before both of them walked away.
