Chapter 179: I’ll Do Anything For You

No One’s POV

Ignoring her older brother’s sudden and dramatic exit from the hallway, the little red-haired girl turned around completely focusing her attention back on Lily. She took Lily’s small cold hand into her own warm palm and pulled her gently but firmly all the way down the corridor, leading her into her massive luxurious bedroom.

The room was filled with beautiful toys, large windows, and elegant decorations. Once they were inside, the young lady dismissed all the nervous maids and shut the doors to ensure their complete privacy, and stepped close to look at Lily with curious eyes.

"So, what is your actual name?" she asked sweetly, tilting her head to the side as she waited for an answer.

Lily stayed completely silent, keeping her gaze staring down at the plush carpet beneath her bare feet. She searched the very depths of her mind, desperately trying to find a memory, a face, or even a single word, but there was only a massive empty blank where her entire identity used to be.

"Are you really a mute? Can you not speak at all?" the little girl asked again, her childish voice softening with genuine concern as she saw how troubled the older girl looked.

Lily slowly shook her head from side to side, showing the young lady that she could, in fact, hear everything and speak perfectly fine if she needed to.

"So... you just don’t have a name at all? No one ever gave you one?" the girl asked, trying her best to understand how someone could exist without a name.

Lily nodded her head slowly, accepting the sad reality of her situation.

The little girl looked deeply troubled for a brief moment, tapping her chin softly with her index finger as she thought hard about what to do. Suddenly, her face lit up with a brilliant idea, and a joyful smile broke across her lips. "Oh! My late pet dog was named Lily, and I really, truly loved her with all my heart. She was my absolute favorite, so from now on, I will call you Lily!"

Hearing that specific name, a sudden spark exploded deep inside Lily’s chest. Her eyes sparkled with a strange emotion that she couldn’t quite explain or understand, as if the name belonged to her entire soul. She looked up at the little girl, a genuine smile breaking across her face, and whispered softly, "Thank you, Miss."

The little girl felt incredibly proud of herself for solving the problem, puffing out her chest with a happy grin. "From now on, you have to call me Lady Calestine... actually, no! Call me Lady Viella! I like that name much, much better!" she said proudly, declaring her chosen title with absolute authority.

Lily nodded her head, the words feeling perfectly natural on her tongue. "Yes... Lady Viella."

So her new little lady’s real name was Calestine Viella, Lily thought quietly in her own mind, repeating the beautiful name over and over again to never forget them. Since this sweet, stubborn little girl had saved her from that terrifying slave market and brought her into this bright world, Lily made a silent promise to herself. She would definitely keep her young lady completely safe from harm, protecting her from any danger no matter what it cost her. She was entirely determined to be her shield forever.

Suddenly, an impatient knock echoed on the bedroom door. Without even waiting for permission to enter, a senior maid pushed the door open and stepped inside. She looked down her nose at the young girl, her posture entirely lacking any proper respect, even though she was addressing the legal lady of the house and she was just a mere maid.

"Your father has strictly ordered me to take you down to the basement immediately," the maid said in a cold tone. "Your other siblings are already down there waiting for you."

Hearing the mention of her father and the basement, Viella’s bright face instantly dimmed, all her previous happiness vanishing in a second. She swallowed hard and gave a quiet nod before stepping forward. Seeing her vibrant little lady look so suddenly terrified, Lily felt deeply troubled.

Her instincts told her that whatever was waiting downstairs was dark and cruel, and she silently followed right behind her new lady to protect her.

They walked down a series of cold stone staircases, descending deep beneath the mansion until they finally reached a basement.

The air down there was thick and smelled nasty- a mix of rust and old blood. While the smell made Viella choke back a gasp, Lily didn’t even flinch; her body felt entirely used to this kind of grim atmosphere, even if she couldn’t remember why.

The moment they entered the main room, the dim hanging lights revealed a horrifying sight: a few grown men were tied tightly to wooden chairs, black cloths completely covering their faces. They were groaning in pain. Viella looked absolutely scared out of her mind, her tiny hands trembling violently, so Lily quickly stepped up and held her arm firmly, letting the little girl lean against her for support.

Sitting on a crate nearby was Lucian, the white-blonde older brother Lily had bumped into earlier. He was already completely covered in fresh blood, a cruel look in his eyes. When his gaze landed on Viella, the terrified little girl took a fearful step backward. Lucian noticed her fear and smirked nastily at both of them, enjoying her terror.

"Ah, look, the family loser is finally here," he mocked, his teenage voice dripping with pure arrogance. "What happened, Viella? Is the little scaredy-cat about to faint just from looking at a little blood?"

Seeing him tormenting her lady, Lily immediately stepped out and stood directly in front of Viella, blocking her from Lucian’s view and locking her dark eyes onto him in a silent challenge.

Lucian rolled his eyes in deep annoyance, completely irritated by the small servant’s bravery. "What now? You brought your new little guard dog to protect you? Pathetic." Tsking loudly, he threw his bloody knife onto a nearby table and walked right past them toward the exit.

As the path cleared, Lily and Viella’s eyes finally landed on the far corner of the basement.

Another young girl was standing there, holding a blood-covered lash in her hand. Her chin was held high, her posture radiating pride and a chilling lack of mercy. It was Marcella.

She looked a bit older than Viella, and she clearly shared the exact same white-blonde hair, striking features, and cold eyes as Lucian.

She was another predator in this house, standing over her victims with a dark smile.

Marcella’s cold gaze slowly fell upon Viella, and a cruel sneer distorted her pretty face. She didn’t say a word at first. Instead, she slowly walked straight toward them. As she passed right by her younger sister, Marcella intentionally and aggressively slammed her shoulder directly into Viella’s small body, nearly knocking the little girl off balance.

Marcella leaned down slightly, her lips brushing close to Viella’s ear as she whispered in a mocking tone. "Don’t you dare forget what Dad said to you earlier, you pathetic little thing... a soft, pure heart like yours absolutely does not deserve to bear the name Viella." She let out a proud grin, completely satisfied with her cruel words, and walked out of the basement without looking back.

The heavy steel door slammed shut, leaving the room entirely quiet except for the muffled groans of the bound prisoners. Viella stood completely frozen in place, her head hanging low as she stared blankly at the filthy stone floor, tears of shame and hurt welling up in her large eyes.

Seeing her little lady look so completely broken, Lily gently reached out and took both of Viella’s trembling hands into her own palms.

In that exact moment, Lily finally understood everything. She understood why this sweet little girl had stubbornly demanded to be called Lady Viella back in her bedroom. It wasn’t just a random name she liked. She desperately wanted that title. She wanted to prove to her cruel father and her arrogant siblings that she belonged here. She wanted to make it known to the entire world that she was a true Viella, and she was willing to do anything just to finally fit into this dark, dangerous family.

"It is completely okay, My Lady. You don’t have to cry. I will take care of everything for you from now on," Lily said, her voice sounding incredibly calm and full of deep determination.

Viella slowly looked up, blinking away her tears as she stared at her new servant in complete disbelief. "Really? You can really do that for me?" she asked in a tiny, fragile whisper.

Lily gave her a firm nod, her dark eyes flashing with a sudden light.

Turning her back to her lady, Lily’s gaze scanned the messy basement until she spotted a loaded handgun. Without a single moment of hesitation, Lily walked over, reached out her small hand, and tightly gripped the cold metal handle of the weapon.

Even though her current twelve-year-old body was small and malnourished, the gun felt perfectly natural and familiar in her hands, as if her muscles perfectly remembered how to kill.

She raised the weapon, aligning the sights with the forehead of the very first tied-up prisoner.

Bang!

The loud sound of the gunshot shattered the silence of the basement, and the first man instantly went limp in his chair. Lily didn’t even blink. Moving with speed, she turned the barrel toward the next target.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

One by one, without a shred of mercy, Lily pulled the trigger over and over again, shooting all of the remaining men cleanly through the head and killing them instantly.

Viella sat down on a nearby crate, her tiny hands gripping the edges as she watched the bloody scene unfold right before her eyes. Her wide eyes were completely frozen in absolute shock and awe. She didn’t look away for even a single second, watching her small servant easily command the power of life and death, realizing that her new guard dog was going to change her entire destiny forever
