Chapter 898: Returning Home

’I guess the Rulers just have far more potential than the others. It’s unfortunate that George died, but I can’t say this was a failure. We accomplished the goal of this Gate, and the other superhumans are alive. Having only one death in a Blue Gate is practically a miracle.’

Jason nodded as this thought crossed his mind, and he spoke in a loud, confident tone.

"You’ve all fought well today, and I’m proud of how much you’ve grown. George’s death wasn’t in vain, and we should all do our best to honor his sacrifice by moving forward. Now that we have accomplished our goal, I think it’s time for us to go home."

The superhumans felt hope in their hearts once Jason said that they had accomplished their goals! The bit of praise from Jason was enough to justify all the hard work they had been putting in for the past few months, and they all nodded to their leader! Jason took Gina’s hand and smiled at her, and Gina gave him a sad smile in return as the two of them started flying towards the exit with all the other superhumans following behind them.

....

[Earth]

The return of the superhumans to Earth was met with enough celebration to shake the entire world down to its very foundations! Right from the moment the superhumans left, every single person in the world had been holding their breath in terror as they hoped for the best but expected the worst! This was the very first time that they would be facing a Blue Gate, and everyone still remembered the sheer destruction that had been caused by the previous Green Gate, so they knew that whatever the superhumans found on the other side of that Gate would be more than enough to destroy the entire world without even trying! If the superhumans failed to kill every beast on that side and even one of the beasts managed to escape, then that would be the end for them!

But as Jason and the superhumans walked out of the Blue Gate, the people at home and the thousands of soldiers and superhumans who had been waiting outside the Gate all erupted in celebration! Even the sight of George’s dead body wasn’t enough to make anyone feel sad about the situation, and Jason understood that this was actually a good scenario for the humans. Even though one person had died, the others had survived, and they closed the Gate! Why wouldn’t they celebrate!?

As a Primordial Rank, Jason now had complete control over his mana since all the mana in his body passed through his central Primordial Heart, and by making the Heart temporarily dormant, Jason was able to make sure that no one could feel his powers at all. Right now, Jason felt like a regular human to any superhuman around, and that was the first thing that Cersai brought up once he finally met with the returning superhumans.

"Jason, what happened to your powers?"

Cersai spoke with an expression of discomfort on his face, and Jason could tell that Cersai was actually scared that something serious had happened! Cersai knew that if something crazy like Jason losing his powers were to ever happen, then they would all be fucked, so Cersai was secretly praying that there was nothing wrong! But Jason explained what happened to Cersai easily, and Cersai let out a calm breath that he didn’t even know he had been holding. Cersai finally turned to look at Francis and the dead body in his hand, and Jason spoke up calmly.

"Send a message to his family and let them know what happened. I don’t want them finding out from the news. Put the family members on a lifetime donation from the Monarch Guild and have someone set up a burial for him. He fought bravely in there, so it’s the least we can do."

Cersai nodded as he called on one of his Gaia subordinates and told them to go and do what Jason had ordered. The man saluted before he vanished in a spray of electricity, and Jason told the other superhumans to go and get some rest in the Monarch Guild branch in Egypt. They would all be getting back to work soon, but they had earned at least a few days off! The superhumans thanked Jason, and Katarina gave Jason an excited wave as she got on the back of a giant Adamantine Ant and took off with the others. Once they were gone, Jason and Gina began walking together with Cersai. There were thousands of soldiers moving around them and gathering up the many weapons and artefacts that Jason’s Legion had taken from the Bengari, and Cersai glanced at the high-quality weapons for a moment before he said.

"Something tells me this Gate raid didn’t go exactly to plan."
