Chapter 897: Growing Stronger

’Kill them.’

The Legion wasted no time as they immediately charged after the Bengari women and attacked them! Jason already knew that none of the Bengari here could tell him anything more about the Mind Art’s user, and Jason wasn’t interested in taking prisoners, so Jason would rather kill every single person and absorb them into his Legion instead! The screams of the Bengari women echoed through the gate as they were trampled upon by the Legion, and Jason watched all of this with a nonchalant look on his face. Jason didn’t need to feel bad for people who came here to try to kill him!

’Hey, Jason. Are you okay?’

Jason glanced to the side, and he saw Gina flying towards him quickly. There was dirt and soot around her clothes and body, and Jason looked her over properly to make sure that she was okay before he nodded and stretched his hand out to her! Gina smiled as she went into Jason’s arms for a hug, and she let out a calming sigh. Gina went up and gave Jason a loving kiss with a wide smile before she turned to watch the massacre happening below.

’Are you going to kill all of them?’

Gina asked with a curious expression, and Jason hummed as he looked up at a group of about a hundred Bengari women who had managed to get outside his range and were running towards the Dimensional Tear they had opened before. Multiple Legion subordinates were chasing the women down, and Jason knew that he could easily kill the women if he wanted. But Jason decided that he wouldn’t do that. Jason told the Legion subordinates to leave those women alive and enter the shadows to follow them instead.

’Why?’

Gina asked this curiously once she heard Jason’s order, and Jason’s eyes narrowed towards the women.

’This attack wasn’t orchestrated by the Bengari alone. There was someone else behind them, so there’s a chance they might go back to their world and meet with that person. And even if they don’t, I want them to spread the news of what happened here around the Primordial Expanse. Let the other worlds know just how foolish an idea it is to attack my world.’

Jason knew that the sort of reputation you had with the rest of the Primordial Expanse was what would determine how the other worlds treated you. Right now, the other worlds were looking down on Earth because they believed that Earth was too weak to rule over them, but if those worlds learned about what Jason had done to both the Machina and the Bengari, Jason was sure that they would think twice about trying to disrespect Jason or his world in the future!

Jason looked down at the battle once more, and he saw that the land below had been soaked with blood. It looked like a scene straight out of a medieval battle, and Jason’s Legion was completely drenched in red as they went about stabbing any Bengari warrior that was still alive! The superhumans who had come here with Jason were trying to catch their breath after the intense battle, but Jason could see the looks of slight discomfort on their faces as they saw the amount of death all around them! Jason looked around as well, and he wondered when he became so numb to seeing so many dead bodies. Jason didn’t hate the idea of being so calm at this moment, but Jason couldn’t deny that it wasn’t normal for anyone not to feel anything when seeing something like this! Jason could feel through their link that even Gina was a bit uncomfortable with the sight, but for him, there was nothing!

’That is the price you pay for power. The further you go from the realm of the mortals, the more accustomed you will be to the battlefield. It’s okay to not feel anything. I also stopped feeling anything a long time ago.’

Esdath’s voice rang through Jason’s head, and Jason closed his eyes and let out a calm huff before he finally put his hand out towards the dead warriors and spoke with intensity!

"Resurrect!"

Precognition: An ability that is likened to seeing the future. This skill grants the user brief visions of the future while in the midst of battle and allows the user to react to attacks before they occur! While active, the skill will place significant strain on the user’s mind; therefore, the system advises the user to only use this skill when absolutely necessary.

Jason actually grimaced when he saw the amount of growth he gained from this battle! Even though Jason had killed more than five thousand enemies and resurrected them, Jason had barely gained a ten percent growth across all of his stats! There was literally no change at all! The worst of them were the Primordial Essence and Primordial Purity, and Jason realised that the system wasn’t joking when it said he would have to fight against Primordials to raise those stats properly! Jason could kill all the TITANs in the world, and those stats probably wouldn’t even go up by 1O%!

Jason just shook his head, and he decided not to let that bother him. Down on the ground, the subordinates were busy taking all the artefacts and weapons that the Bengari had been using. Those weapons and artefacts would be useful for the superhumans on Earth, and Jason made a mental note to go to the world of the Bengari sometime later and get some answers. Even though this attack only happened because Diane had been under the control of the Mind Arts user, Jason needed to know why the Mind Arts user had been on Bengari in the first place, and he needed to make sure that the world was still in one piece!

Jason felt Gina tighten her hand around his waist and Jason looked down at her to see that she was staring at something in the distance. Jason turned, and he let out a breath when he saw Francis carrying the body of a dead superhuman.

’His name is George. I was there when he died. I couldn’t do anything to help him.’

Gina spoke up in a somber tone as she stared at George’s dead body, and Jason let out another calm breath as he squeezed Gina’s shoulder slightly. It’s not your fault. Jason tried to convey this message through the hug, and Jason looked around at all the superhumans that had finally gathered around. Some of the superhumans, like Stragga, looked up at Jason with wide smiles on their faces as they realised that they had won the day, while the more emotional superhumans like Katarina and Helga had sad expressions on their faces as they looked at the dead body of one of their former comrades. Jason allowed his senses to wash over the superhumans, and he couldn’t help the slight happiness in his heart when he felt five TITAN Rank signatures reaching back out to him! Francis, Stragga, Helga, Katarina, and, surprisingly, Victor, had all become TITANs! Victor was the one who shocked Jason the most because Jason knew that Victor had been weaker than Francis when they came into this Gate. But now, it looked like Victor had surpassed Francis, and he was already close to Stragga’s level.
