Chapter 352: Chapter 352: But You Already Promised to Marry Me

Juliana Jacobs heard this and, without asking what it was, dashed towards the main hall.

She saw Elias Langley standing in the center of the hall, facing sideways towards her.

His figure was a bit thinner, yet still upright.

A wave of immense joy overwhelmed Juliana, and all the calm she had forced herself to maintain over the past month, suppressed fear and torment, all burst forth at this moment.

She ran over without thinking, wanting to throw herself into his embrace.

However, just as her fingertips were about to touch him, Elias Langley swiftly and distantly stepped back.

Juliana couldn’t stop herself in time and, due to the inertia, fell forward, landing on the floor.

Sharp pain came from her elbows and knees, and even her abdomen started hurting.

"What are you doing?"

She raised her head, looking at him in disbelief.

At this point, a woman in a white suit with exquisite makeup walked over and took hold of Elias Langley’s arm.

Juliana only then noticed that there was one more person in the house.

The woman snuggled close to Elias, looking down at Juliana with an unmistakably scrutinizing gaze.

"Elias, I’ve been abroad for so long that I don’t know what’s happening here. Turns out you’re already married. But you promised to marry me, what are we going to do?"

Her soft voice pierced Juliana’s ears like a needle.

"Who are you?" Juliana stood up.

The woman ignored her and instead leaned into Elias’s embrace.

"Darling, if you’re married, then I’m the third party here. You clearly promised my uncle that you’d take care of me forever. Are you going back on your word now?"

Elias didn’t seem bothered by the woman’s touch; instead, he helped tuck her hair behind her ear.

"I’m sorry, I only vaguely remember that I should come back here. I can’t remember anything else. Give me some time to sort things out, and I’ll give you an explanation."

The woman nodded understandingly but still did not leave his embrace.

Uncle?

So this woman is Sean Paxton’s...

Juliana unconsciously furrowed her brows.

At this moment, Steward Fay and Raine Kane also hurried in.

Raine whispered to Juliana, "Juliana, Mr. Langley was rescued by a passing ship after falling into the sea and was brought to The Zenthian Sea. He only returned yesterday through the embassy. As soon as he got back... he didn’t recognize anyone."

Elias Langley has amnesia!

Juliana was both angry and amused, feeling as if fate never lets her go.

Having comforted the person in his arms, Elias’s gaze now turned to her.

Distant, indifferent, with a hint of deliberation.

"Did we..." he paused, "register our marriage?"

Juliana steadied herself, forcefully ignoring the escalating pain in her abdomen.

She walked to a chair and sat down.

Then she looked up, meeting Elias’s probing gaze, her lips twisting lightly as she retorted, "Are you sure you even know your own last name?"

Elias heard the mockery in her words, and his gaze turned solemn immediately.

"I asked you a question; just answer sincerely."

Juliana leaned against the back of the chair and smiled.

"May I ask which identity you are using to interrogate me now?"

"I don’t like being contradicted. Watch your tone," Elias said with a frown.

Juliana’s smile grew even more sarcastic.

"A month ago, on the high seas, you were after Sean Paxton and bringing back Florence Sinclair, and your fate was unknown. Now, you bring a woman who calls Dylan Paxton ’uncle’ into our home and interrogate me on whether I am your lawful wife! How do you think I should talk to you? With gratitude and relief, or should I burst into tears?"

"Going after Sean Paxton?"

Elias’s forehead furrowed into a knot, and the information in Juliana’s words conflicted with what he learned upon waking.

His head began to ache faintly.

The woman noticed and softly said in his arms, "Elias, when I saved you, I truly didn’t think much. Uncle moved heaven and earth to get you the best doctors through his connections in The Zenthian Sea, purely out of concern as an elder, asking nothing in return. Could it be that what she’s saying is upsetting her because I’m here? Maybe she just can’t accept it right away..."

"When my husband and I are speaking, a third party has no right to intervene."

Juliana’s tone was calm, yet her words were sharp.

"Always gasping over my man; didn’t your mother teach you that stealing even a lick of someone else’s things counts as stealing?"

The woman’s face turned pale instantly.

"Or maybe..." Juliana smiled slightly, "your mothers were too busy working at The Bloom Pavilion to teach you."

"Enough!"

Elias shouted, interrupting the increasingly uncontrollable confrontation.

The woman looked extremely aggrieved, in a way that would tug at any man’s heartstrings.

Juliana’s gaze towards Elias immediately turned sharp.

"You yell at me for a shameless woman? Elias Langley, even picking up such a lowlife doesn’t spur your disgust. It seems you haven’t just lost your memory but also your taste."

"You..."

Elias’s chest heaved, looking at Juliana with a gaze that became increasingly complex, filled with remnants of unfamiliarity, a thin vein of offended anger, and deeper confusion and exhaustion.

The woman beside him tightened her grip on his sleeve, hoping that he would look down at her tear-filled eyes, offering her some reassurance.

However, after regaining his composure, Elias gently pushed her away.

"I will first go to the hotel; I’ll talk after sorting things out."

After speaking, he no longer looked at the woman or confronted Juliana, heading for the door alone.

"Elias..."

The woman hurriedly chased after him.

She caught up to him outside the door.

"Elias, I didn’t mean to force you to divorce; I saved you not expecting anything in return. I just said that to test how much she truly cares for you."

Elias said nothing, heading to the street corner to hail a cab.

The woman followed closely, continuing, "I... I shouldn’t have come back. I know the family doesn’t welcome me, and neither is your place my home to settle down. I’ll return to The Zenthian Sea so I won’t bother you."

Elias only then turned his gaze towards her due to her words, his tone becoming more gentle.

"I never intended to go back on my word; my mind is in a scramble and not fit for any decisions. Allow me some time to calm down."

The taxi arrived. The woman got in with him, once again leaning on his arm.

"I know, you can’t be without me now. So I won’t leave, but once you’re recovered, I promise I won’t cling to you anymore."

Elias’s jaw tightened, he didn’t respond again.

After they left, Juliana’s tense spine finally loosened a bit.

She had worried for him for a month, only to be met with him returning with another woman, asking for a divorce.

The persistent abdominal pain that she had suppressed retaliated, more severe than before.

Juliana curled up in the chair, her fingers gripping the armrest tightly, her knuckles turning white, and fine beads of cold sweat appeared on her forehead.

"Juliana, what’s the matter?"

Raine extended her hand, and Juliana clutched it tightly, squeezing out her words with effort.

"Don’t go to the hospital, quickly... quickly contact my dad."

Half an hour later.

Raine drove straight to Nivoria Biotech Tower.

Juliana had already fallen unconscious on the way.

This streamlined glass-wall building is not only a landmark in Kingsford but also the country’s top medical biotechnology research center.

Sebastian Sinclair and his wife were already waiting at the entrance.

Raine parked the car, carrying Juliana as they followed the couple swiftly into the tower, heading directly to the Precision Medicine Center on the top floor.

Juliana was immediately sent into the life dynamic capsule for a comprehensive scan.

Minutes later, the test results shocked everyone.

She was pregnant...
