Chapter 149: Tales Of Asgard
Moments later, Eluned was kneeling on the ground, kowtowing to Silas and begging him for forgiveness.
The Goddess of Nature, an SSS-rank mythic entity who literally commanded the earth to bloom beneath her feet, had completely abandoned her divine pride.
She pressed her forehead flat against the cold slate floor of the Keep’s dining hall.
Her elegant green silk dress bunched up around her knees.
"Please forgive this humble servant!" Eluned begged, her melodious voice cracking with panic. "My competitive spirit overtook my rational judgment! I swear I did not mean to vaporize the dining table! It was the pirate’s fault for instigating the physical contest!"
While Eluned groveled in the ash, Morwenna threw her head back and laughed loudly.
The Dread Queen of the Astral Seas stood a few feet away, wiping a tear of amusement from her stormy gray eyes.
She pointed a scarred finger down at her rival, her booming laugh echoing through the shattered magically repairing windows of the Keep.
"Look at the weed beg!" Morwenna roared, slapping her own knee. "You broke it, Eluuuu! Own up to it like a true captain! The Warlord caught you red-handed!"
Silas didn’t say a word.
He didn’t blink. He just slowly shifted his glowing golden-ringed eyes away from the groveling Goddess and locked them directly onto the laughing pirate.
The suffocating weight of his aura shifted with his gaze.
Morwenna’s booming laugh caught instantly in her throat.
The feral amused grin was wiped clean off her rugged face in a fraction of a second.
She felt the overwhelming pressure of his Gold Core pinning her in place and it turned out her :Lord wasn’t joking around this time.
Morwenna didn’t hesitate.
She immediately dropped to her knees right next to Eluned. She pressed her forehead hard against the slate floor, her messy dark hair spilling into the ash as she performed an identical desperate kowtow.
"I apologize, Captain!" Morwenna shouted quickly, her voice slightly muffled against the floorboards. "I should have exercised proper restraint! You are free to punish me!"
Kaelia, who was still standing in the kitchen archway clutching her wooden stirring spoon, couldn’t help herself... The master chef watched the two most terrifying overpowered women in the entire territory kneeling side-by-side on the floor, begging a mortal man for mercy.
Kaelia let out a soft nervous chuckle, raising her hands to cover her mouth.
Silas turned his head toward the kitchen archway, giving Kaelia a flat, deeply unamused look.
"And you," Silas stated, his deep voice a low, warning rumble that sent a shiver through the room. "You were supposed to break them off. Not stand there waving a spoon and taking bets."
Kaelia squeaked in terror. Her cheeks flushed a brilliant, violently hot shade of pink.
"I-I am so sorry, my Lord!" Kaelia stammered, frantically twisting the fabric of her white apron. "They just looked like they were having so much fun!"
Before Silas could officially issue disciplinary action to his chaotic commanders, the heavy ironwood doors of the Keep opened.
Aeliana stepped into the dining hall.
The Arcanist was wearing her pristine white spider-silk robes, holding a thick stack of clipboards against her chest.
She took one look at the two mythic entities kowtowing in the ash, glanced at the shattered glass reforming in the window frames, and didn’t even blink.
She was completely accustomed to the daily destructive chaos of her Lord’s inner circle.
"Welcome back, Lord Sy," Aeliana greeted him smoothly, offering a graceful, perfectly composed bow.
Silas let out a long, heavy sigh. He scrubbed a hand over his face, letting the oppressive weight of his Warlord aura bleed out of the room.
The crushing pressure lifted, allowing Eluned and Morwenna to finally draw a full, deep breath.
"Get up," Silas ordered, dropping his hands to his sides.
He looked down at the two women groveling on the floor. "I forgive you. I’m letting you off the hook this time but if you blow up the dining table again, you’re both sleeping with the wolves."
Eluned and Morwenna scrambled to their feet instantly. They dusted the gray ash off their clothes, exchanging relieved competitive glares.
Silas reached out his right hand, mentally accessing the infinite void of his Lord Inventory.
In a flash of golden pixelated light, a massive thick volume materialized in his palm.
He held it out toward the kitchen archway.
"Kaelia," Silas called out.
The master chef hurried over, her eyes widening as she took the heavy book from him.
"This is the [Guide To Cooking On Earth: One Thousand and One Feasts]" Silas told her with a small smile touching his lips. "It has over a thousand complex Earth recipes, including advanced baking, meat rendering, and pastry crafting."
Kaelia stared at the thick cover. Her jaw dropped open.
She clutched the massive cookbook to her chest like it was a holy artifact forged by the heavens themselves.
"Th-thank you!" Kaelia gasped, completely overwhelmed by the sheer value of the gift.
She was so incredibly happy that she actually jumped in place with her pristine white apron fluttering.
Then, realizing that all three of the elite commanders were staring at her, she immediately shied away.
Her face burned a brilliant red as she scurried backward into the safety of the kitchen archway to read her new treasure in private.
Silas reached into his inventory again.
He pulled out the two dark blue weather-treated canvas tomes that smelled strongly of tar and sea salt.
He tossed them directly at Morwenna.
The pirate caught them effortlessly against her chest.
"[Principles of Maritime Dominance and Siege Logistics]" Silas recited the titles. "Everything you need to know about ship-to-ship boarding mechanics, heavy cannon logistics, and commanding an armada. Read them... you’re the one that requested after all."
Morwenna’s stormy gray eyes lit up with fierce joy.
She practically hugged the heavy canvas books, offering him a sharp respectful pirate salute. "Aye, Captain! I’ll have the rigging memorized by morning!"
Silas turned to Eluned. The Goddess of Nature had straightened her green silk dress, looking at him with intense, hopeful expectation.
He pulled the thick green-bound botanical encyclopedia from his inventory and handed it to her. Then he reached back in, pulling out the ten sealed canvas pouches full of agricultural supplies.
He dropped the pouches directly into her waiting hands.
"And I got the seeds," Silas stated. "High-yield winter potatoes, root carrots, sweet corn, culinary herbs, and orchard apples. We’ll grow them where we grew the fruits later."
Eluned’s green eyes widened in divine ecstasy.
She traced her delicate fingers over the canvas pouches, instantly sensing the dormant potential of the uncorrupted terrestrial life within them.
She was incredibly happy!
"Magnificent," Eluned breathed out, her voice trembling with genuine emotion. "I shall cultivate them with the utmost care, my Lord... The Blessed Land shall yield a harvest unlike any this realm has ever seen."
"Glad to hear it," Silas nodded. He turned to look at the Arcanist, who was watching the gift distribution with quiet polite restraint.
"Follow me," Silas ordered them.
He walked out of the dining hall, leading the three commanders through the heavy ironwood doors and out into the cool night air of the Keep’s courtyard.
He walked directly toward the eastern wing of the fortress. He stopped in front of a massive, empty expanse of cleared slate tiles that bordered the inner perimeter wall.
They reached the spot.
Silas stood in the center of the empty space. He closed his eyes, mentally opening his Warlord interface and then he navigated directly to the Blueprint tab, selecting the blueprint he had unlocked earlier.
[Construct: Grand Archive - Tier 2]
"Build." Silas commanded silently.
The Warlord interface flared a brilliant blinding blue.
Silas constructed the Library with all of the items needed that were now available in his Lord Inventory.
From the center of his chest, a massive shockwave of pure sovereign mana exploded outward, washing over the empty slate tiles.
The air violently distorted, vibrating with the sheer physical force of high-tier territorial architecture manifesting in real-time.
Four hundred massive blocks of pristine, refined white stone erupted from the ground, slamming perfectly into place to form a staggering, highly reinforced structural foundation.
Eight hundred thick dark ironwood beams materialized in the air, rapidly interlocking and weaving together to construct a towering vaulted roof.
The blank paper rolls and Starlight Ink vanished from his inventory, perfectly stocking the interior shelves and scribing desks.
Within ten seconds, a towering, magnificent library stood in the eastern wing of the Keep.
He did that, and then he made it Tier 3 by upgrading it immediately... He opened his interface again, selecting the newly constructed building!
[Upgrade: Grand Archive -> Tier 3]
[Cost: 700 UP]
It’s really cost... but regardless, Upgrade!" Silas ordered.
A second wave of golden pixelated light crashed over the structure.
The ironwood beams thickened, expanding outward. Tall, elegant arched windows lined with glowing, protective starlight glass formed along the walls.
The roof expanded, adding a massive second floor dedicated entirely to high-level magical research and decryption.
The massive, rumbling sound of the Tier 3 construction immediately attracted all of the girls.
Dozens of women began pouring out of the barracks and the training yards. The heavy infantry girls, the agile scouts, the shieldmaidens, and the specialists all hurried across the courtyard, holding their lanterns high as they stared at the towering new structure.
Silas turned around and he looked at the massive crowd gathered in the courtyard.
He entered first with the girls, and the girls entered after.
He pushed open the heavy, intricately carved double doors of the library and stepped onto the pristine, polished dark hardwood floor.
It was a very big library with lights.
The vaulted ceiling was lined with glowing, warm starlight crystals that illuminated the massive room perfectly without casting harsh shadows.
Rows upon rows of towering ironwood bookshelves stretched across the first floor.
There were different books everywhere.
’It seems like the books came automatically with the building...’
There were books about the different places in the Sovereign Realm and others and there were detailed geographic encyclopedias mapping out the hazard zones, the Abyssal Archipelago, and the deep subterranean trenches.
Also, there were books to learn how to read and stuff.
Basic literacy primers, beginner mathematics, and simple writing workbooks were neatly stacked on the lower shelves, easily accessible for the infantry recruits.
All the other women in the barracks, including Thora, hurried across the courtyard.
They entered and were able to fit in the Library, crowding into the massive open reading spaces. There were so many books.
The sheer volume of printed knowledge was staggering. For many of the women, this was the first time they had ever been inside a place of dedicated learning.
"Shoes off!" Brida suddenly yelled out from the back of the crowd, her booming voice echoing in the quiet space. "You don’t track swamp mud into the Lord’s new building! Take off your boots!"
All the girls immediately halted.
Taking off their shoes before they entered as Brida yelled it out, seventy-three women frantically began kicking off their heavy leather combat boots, unlacing their greaves, and leaving their muddy footwear in a massive, disorganized pile by the front doors.
They stepped into the library in their socks or bare feet then they entered and scrolled through the aisles, running their calloused hands over the smooth spines of the books with wide awestruck eyes.
"So many books... in one place..." Tasmin muttered as she took one out, she would enjoy reading most of them out. After all, she loved being informed.
Aeliana stepped out from the crowd, her pristine white robes trailing behind her. She walked up to Silas and then she then turned to face the crowded library.
"Listen to me!" Aeliana announced, her melodious voice ringing out clearly over the excited murmurs. "For the people that cannot read or write, do not be intimidated by these shelves! I would be the one teaching you...! I will hold evening classes right here so feel free to disturb me!"
She gestured to the plush reading chairs and wide, polished tables set up near the back windows. "And this was a place that you can rest to read in too! After finishing the day’s work, you can come here to relax! It’s a sanctuary of knowledge for everybody!"
All of them cheered for their Lord.
"HAIL LORD SILAS! HAIL LORD SILAS!"
’Again?’ Silas thought as they kept on cheering his name, he didn’t mind it though. In fact he loved being hyped up but it was just a Library. ’It’s not like I solved world hunger or something...’
The entire garrison of women erupted, raising their fists in the air with their voices echoing off the vaulted ceiling in massive unified roars of pure appreciation.
A small blush covered his cheeks.
"Thank you... Thank you all..." Silas said with a wave. "Make sure to read and if you don’t know how, it doesn’t really ma—"
"It does matter!" Aeliana immediately interrupted. "After all, Our Lord only likes women that are educated and can read."
’Huh...?’ Silas thought as he looked down and they continued cheering with some even blowing him kisses.
"MY LORD, I’LL DO MY BEST TO LEARN SO I CAN BE WORTHY OF YOU!"
"WILL LORD SILAS CREAMPIE ME IF I READ HIM A PASSAGE?!"
’Ah... this is getting out of hand!’
Wanting to escape the direct spotlight, Silas stepped away from the main thing.
’Since there are a lot of books... I should try researching in the deeper aisles of the Library.’ Silas thought as he walked past the basic literacy primers and the territorial maps, venturing toward the back corner of the Archive.
He stopped in front of a heavy isolated ironwood shelf.
"The whole shelf is titled Mythical huh?" Silas muttered, that wasn’t bad... Who knows? Maybe if he read through them, he would get an idea of the next Divine being he was summoning. "I’ll just dig in my hand and take a random book."
Silas did just that, leaving it up to fate... and fate decided...
He took out a book titled Tales Of Asgard.
