Chapter 252: She Had Asked For 30

I wanted to say that having a mating bond with Raguk was a surprise, but at this point, it would have been a bigger surprise if he wasn’t my mate.

After all, my genetic makeup demanded only the best, and it seemed to have a thing for towering green males.

I studied the male in front of me as he grew taller, his arms almost doubling to twice their original size. His chest grew exponentially until he was twice the width he was before.

While he was shorter than the rest of my males, he still towered over me.

I liked it.

"My lord?" came a tentative voice from behind the wall of males. A tentative... female voice.

Nope.

I flicked my skirt in agitation as a much smaller female approached my guys. She looked up at them like they were the boogeymen and then tried to slip between them to get closer to Raguk.

My males, the wise males that they were, didn’t let her pass but didn’t touch her either.

I was not the jealous sort, never was, never would be. But I can tell you right now that I am the possessive sort. And what was mine stayed mine unless it wanted to die.

And she was pressing every last button I had.

"Relax," said GA as he stood beside me. He placed his hand on the small of my back and let out a low purring sound that was more of a vibration than an actual sound. Still, it did the trick, and I was no longer seeing red. "It’s the mating instinct. It will feel threatened any time another female enters your territory until you have conceived an offspring or have naturally moved on to another phase of your cycle. It is temporary."

I let out a low chuckle, causing Raguk’s eyes to focus even more intently on me. I smirked at him before turning my attention to GA.

"I might not know what is going on with my body right now, but my mind is the same as always. I can assure you that this is not a temporary thing. Any females that think they have a right to you or touch you will be killed." I took in a deep breath and tried to get myself under control.

I always hated people playing with my things when I was younger. My inability to share was a huge focal point in a lot of therapy sessions. Even someone touching one of my pencils at school was enough to set me off.

But touching one of my guys? Yeah, I didn’t see that working well for them.

Raguk’s head snapped up at my words, and I could see a look of panic on his face. Was he concerned about the female? Was she his?

I watched as he spun around and attempted to look over at the female who was being blocked by Da’kea, Midnight, and Tha’juen. He stalked toward my males, and I waited to see what would happen.

I had learned that even though I could call a male, that didn’t mean that the connection was a strong one. However, I didn’t think that that was the case with Raguk. Then again, I could be wrong.

Midnight looked over his shoulder at the smaller male and titled his head to the side. "Nice look," he said with a smirk. Leave it to him to try and defuse the situation... or try to push someone’s buttons.

Raguk grunted and nodded his head in Midnight’s direction before turning back to the female that had set off a off a metaphorical powder keg.

"I would offer a drink, but I don’t think I want to consume that," smirked Midnight as he looked at me. There might have been a smile on his face, but his eyes were completely serious. He would kill the female and offer me her blood to make me happy.

I shook my head. I didn’t want a single finger of his to touch the other woman. Let alone consume her blood and have that going through his system. He nodded in understanding as GA continued to rub the small of my back.

"Who gave you permission to speak?" hissed Raguk as Midnight and Da’kea created a space for him. He was a good foot shorter than the others but at least twice their width.

There was no reply from the female, and since there was a wall between me and her, I didn’t know what she was doing. But I trusted my males. I would let them handle this matter.

----

Raguk saw red. Actually, he saw a goddess in a black dress, but as soon as that female opened her mouth, all he wanted to do was kill her.

Mate... Mate... Mate.

The voice inside his head wouldn’t shut up long enough for him to concentrate on what was going on in front of him; so happy to have finally found his mate. But the screeching of the other female’s voice brought him out of his daze long enough to see the flash of rage on his female’s face.

He would not accept anything upsetting her like that.

He would not touch the female. She was not his, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t belong to some other male. And he wouldn’t take away the chance to find a mate from anyone.

But he would not put up with her here, on his mate’s ships.

"My lord, are you okay?" came the soft voice. The female stood in front of me, her head bowed.

"Who are you to ask anything?" sneered Raguk, trying to keep his temper under control. Her scent made him nauseous, too sweet and too bitter. He just wanted her gone. "Leave," he commanded.

The female in front of him hunched her shoulders like he had demanded her execution, but she refused.

Coming to his full height at the blatant sign of her disrespect, he let out a low grumble of warning in his chest.

"Why did you bring them in the first place?" asked the Njeriuujk standing beside him.

His comment snapped Raguk out of his mood as he turned to look at the other male.

"She had asked for 30."
