Chapter 1941: Master of a Myriad Daos (IV)
The edge of the western region.
A ponderously massive world.
A commonplace, middle-aged man was gazed upon the east. He chuckled after a long moment, “Who would’ve thought that after the Skyward master, the next person to walk out of the four regions would also raise such a fuss!”
He didn’t mind the defeat stemming from the last battle. It may not be a bad thing. His own people hadn’t died and Reincarnation was moving toward the west. That would bolster his forces instead. They just wouldn’t be able to flank north and south like he’d planned to do so before.
Of course, someone like Reincarnation might not truly obey his orders unless the man had no other choice. This outcome was actually a good thing.
“The Skyward master is much stronger than them,” a powerhouse that remained hazy and indistinct said slowly. “He was the undisputed foremost powerhouse back in those days, a peak ninth rank! He was the king of spatial dao and could instantly shift anywhere he set his eyes on. He was so incredibly strong!”
“That’s what we say,” laughed Chaos Sky. “He is an august senior now, after all. Those emerging from the four regions now are juniors. It’s incredible that they have such accomplishments to their name!
“I also met that Long Zhan once many years back. I felt that he was someone to keep an eye on back then, and now that assessment has been verified...
“What a pity that he’s set on leading the chase beasts in their rise. The chaos universe is territory of the human race. It will be very hard for him to succeed!”
He shook his head slightly. Long Zhan had a very hard road ahead of him. He might have a chance of realizing his ambitions if he set aside the chaos beasts. It would be harder than ascending the heavens if he wished to raise chaos beasts over humans!”
“Apparently Silver Moon King Li Hao cultivates the dao of time...” murmured Chaos Sky before shifting focus to the south. “That’s what Spring Autumn claims to cultivate as well. But from what I know, the monster spirit doesn’t cultivate actual dao. It’s just a unique art. Do you think Spring Autumn will attack the east first?”
“How about I go and secretly capture the Silver Moon king...” responded the shadow.
“Let’s not do anything brash at the moment.” Chaos Sky shook his head. “Skyward... might not return to the east, but Skyward’s powerhouses might start to make their way back! This person comes from the four regions and is involved with time. He might be the key to their return.
“Although I’m unaware of the exact details, the intelligence I’ve collected shows that this person is deeply tied to Skyward. So let us not attempt anything out of line. For the moment, these ninth ranks that cannot come back are not people that we can provoke.”
“Then... let’s have Spring Autumn try him on for size instead!” nodded the shadow.
Chaos Sky agreed with a smile. Granted, Spring Autumn might not be foolish enough to try. But perhaps the temptation might be too great to ignore?
That was the power of time!
Neither were they the ones to designate the Skyward master as a true ninth rank and invincible throughout the chaos. The man himself had said so back in the day. Later generations might be unaware of this happening, but Chaos Sky remembered as he was a veteran.
He’d even met the Skyward master on occasion!
He’d seen firsthand how peerless and unparalleled ninth ranks lost their luster in front of the Skyward master. The Skyward master had been truly unmatched, yet he’d said that time was the master of all daos!
Could the Silver Moon king really find success in his cultivation of time? Or was his dao similar to Spring Autumn’s and just something that resembled time?
......
No matter the discussions in the outside world and their clashes, Li Hao remained wholly unmoved. He’d gained a great deal from the last battle, so it was naturally time to digest their harvest.
The Ninth City of the alliance of mid worlds.
The young man focused on supplementing his minor worlds. Ever since reaching one thousand worlds, he rarely infused his worlds with energy. He mostly relied on the queen for that. And now that she was fourth rank, she could supply him with a great deal and at a decent pace.
These days, Li Hao nearly solely relied on the queen’s supply. He’d quietly saturated eight worlds over the past couple of days, but there didn’t seem to be a qualitative change in the worlds, comparatively speaking.
Saturating eight worlds over a few days was a frighteningly fast speed. Yet, it didn’t seem that way for the young man because he’d created more worlds than that in the same period of time.
Where he’d been initially concerned that the queen would be the death of him, he now found that...
That was far from happening.
It would be a possibility only when she reached seventh rank. At the moment, the amount of energy she supplied was just enough to whet his appetite.
So given that, Li Hao set everything out of mind and focused on his worlds. He grasped many more than one thousand daos, but had mostly perfected his current worlds due to limitations on energy and time. He hadn’t created that many more worlds. So for the moment, Li Hao mused over his next steps as he established more worlds.
The most critical factor of all was the dao of order!
Chaos dao was unordered at present. Or rather, one could say that it existed in a disordered state. All of chaos dao was disordered.
There might not have been a determinant in times past whether disordered dao or ordered dao was better, but Li Hao had new data to pull from after the previous battle. Ordered dao was stronger. It inflicted noticeably more damage on disorder.
Countless thoughts ran through his mind as he set eyes on the star of time again.
As the star of dao operated, Li Hao recorded numerous changes in it. The star changed continuously, although he hadn’t been able to observe any patterns at first. By now, he was able to glimpse a rhythm to its cycles.
He had to sigh with appreciation at how stunning the War Sovereign’s genius was. How was he able to complete the combination of a myriad daos in that period? He had to comprehend so many at first, then assemble them in order. After that, he had to ensure further permutations!
Each step was harder than the last!
Li Hao was yet to complete the most fundamental step, the one of comprehending a myriad daos. He was yet to accomplish it even after reaching seventh rank. He grasped many daos, but truly hadn’t reached ten thousand of them.
And ten thousand daos was just the foundation of time.
There wasn’t much hope for him to independently walk the path of time when he was yet to establish its foundation. Therefore, the young man resided in a learning stage.
He would be the butt of jokes if word got out that a seven rank was still learning dao, and learning from a sixth rank. However, that was the truth.
There might not be a single person in the chaos who could fashion the dao of time, much less the seventh rank Li Hao. Time would not be that mysterious, if it wasn’t for that. The Myriad Dao Pavilion might be the chance for him to swiftly comprehend ten thousand daos.
Li Hao was rather curious at this stage how the War Sovereign had comprehended a myriad daos when the New Martial home world remained in place. Actions such as traveling to the past or future could only take place once he understood enough daos to build the dao of time.
The War Sovereign must have comprehended a myriad daos on his own in the beginning. Every world had the foundation of all daos, but tilted more heavily towards certain daos.
New Martial possessed all daos, yet some of them were so weak that they could barely be detected. How was one to comprehend a dao like that?
Li Hao was quite puzzled, but also immensely admiring of the man. This would be far beyond his abilities. Outsiders thought of him as a genius, but Li Hao didn’t think much of his abilities. I can’t do what he did and comprehend a myriad daos just from my location on Silver Moon alone.
Dao strength seeped out of the fractured Earth Fissure major world and supplemented the newly created minor worlds. Out of the original thousand, some of the worlds had reached mid world status, if judged in terms of energy.
They were the new Thunder World, new Orchid Forest, and world of calamity... They were all mid worlds now.
Most of the other worlds were still minor worlds. Compared to real worlds, they lacked an origin of life.
New worlds came into being one after another. There was currently one being present in the river of dao—the dao chess.
It’d returned to its original form and was fully displaying the chessboard of a myriad daos for Li Hao to study. The Skyward master had left the treasure behind, having etched his own spatial dao on the treasure’s primary body.
Having recovered to eighth rank, the dao chess could now offer more knowledge to Li Hao. Not only that, but there was a book near the dao chess—the book of dao. It came from the New Martial supreme.
The New Martial supreme was an eighth rank who’d comprehended an unknown number of daos. Li Hao simply knew that he had one thousand exalted emperors in the one thousand pages of his book.
One had to say, his dao appeared very similar to Li Hao’s in certain aspects. Li Hao’s dao took the shape of individual worlds, whereas the supreme had fashioned his dao rules into a book.
The young man was very blissful as he wasn’t concerned about bottlenecks. He was yet to finish studying the dao chess before the supreme supplied him with more. How long would it take for him to digest everything?
Page upon page from the book of dao unfurled in front of him. Characters hovered in front of him like divine text. They transformed into individual supremes, ones that explained the great dao that that copy knew.
Presenting dao in the form of a book seemed to make it more direct. It was an idea Li Hao had wanted to explore, but it would be very difficult to compress his worlds now. Each world was a supernatural character and his ability was yet to reach the supreme’s level.
That the supreme could compress his dao rules into a book represented that his understanding and command over great dao was far stronger than Li Hao’s. The young man could only transform his supernatural characters into worlds for now.
Worlds bubbled up in Li Hao’s line of sight as he focused on them. They quickly filled the area and dao strength flooded into them. His current goal was to create two thousand worlds. Saturating them with energy could wait until later.
First the worlds would be established, then they would be filled with energy.
The first one thousand had ultimately ended with the dao of calamity as the focal point, forming the calamity sword of a thousand worlds. Li Hao’s next point of consideration was—which dao should be the focal point of the next thousand?
This would be his sword of two thousand worlds!
Once they were all saturated with energy, Li Hao believed that his battle strength would rise once more. He might not rival apex eighth ranks, but he would wield more than three thousand dao rules.
Just one of his worlds was more than fifty percent stronger than eighth ranks who were yet to transform their dao into worlds. That was a given. Therefore, once he succeeded with two thousand worlds, his battle strength would be on par with a cultivator of three or four thousand dao rules.
There weren’t that many eighth ranks in the eastern region with this level of strength. Most of them were weaker at two or three thousand.
That was the stage that the Thunder Emperor and rest resided at.
