Chapter 153: Stupid
Lukas knew Natasha was not a stupid person. She was highly intelligent, and not just anyone could reach the bloodline awakening stage.
She would not go out of her way just to tell him all these things. The White Knight Guild was already familiar with his abilities. He might not be a match for a sequence-tier being, but he had enough firepower to hold his ground against a blood-infusion expert.
Of course, all of these were just his thoughts. No one could ever know for sure what was going through her mind.
The two stopped outside the main gate of the White Knight Settlement, where soldiers of the White Knight Guild, led by Vice Guild Leader Mary, were stationed. Noticing the two of them approaching, the soldiers straightened up. But when their gazes landed on Lukas, a hint of doubt appeared on their faces, as if wondering why someone like him was here.
Mary spotted him and spoke out loud.....
"Isn’t this the mysterious sword instructor of the White Knight Guild?"
Mary’s tone was slightly strange as she eyed Lukas up and down, seemingly looking for something.
"Greetings, Vice Guild Leader..."
Lukas had a forced smile on his lips. Her gaze for some reason was making him uncomfortable.
"Greetings, Sword Master. You sure have guts to dare show up after killing a direct descendant of the Von Maximus family. No wonder that girl Ambrose was so fond of you..."
The two did not notice it, but when Ambrose’s name was mentioned, a strange ripple flashed through Natasha’s eyes.
Lukas was no genius, but he still felt the change in the atmosphere, and a headache seemed to be coming on. He decided to explain.

"What fondness? We were just escaping from the distance. Nothing else..."
He decided to make things clear from the start, leaving no room for misunderstanding. Lukas might have wasted much of his previous life, but he had indeed learned a few important lessons. In this world, the only thing that truly changed things was one’s value. Wasting time on girls was not worth it.
They could have continued this conversation, but at that time a commotion broke out in front of them.
"They’re here again! The undead are back! Stay alert!"
The White Knight Guild soldiers hurriedly started to move, drawing their weapons. Under the swift and precise commands of Vice Leader Mary, they quickly arranged themselves into a pincer formation, perfect for dealing with larger crowds.
Both the guild and the necromancer faction had been enemies for a long time. After many battles, the White Knight Guild’s soldiers were skilled in fighting against undead forces.
Lukas also watched with interest. He wanted to see how experts fought.
Mary noticed his intent to wait and see and could not help but say,
"Guild Sword Master, you could have simply brought out your sword and helped us passively. Then she turned to Lukas and said, ’Sword Master, why don’t you show us your moves? The young geniuses of the guild have been praising you nonstop.’"
Just how amazing their new instructor was. Some were even claiming that he might have reached the fabled realm of Sword Grandmaster.
When Mary mentioned the world "Grandmaster," a genuine look of admiration flashed through her eyes.
The White Knight Settlement was huge, yet there was not a single grandmaster except Lukas.
White Knight Guild Master Natasha heard this from the sidelines without saying anything in between. She was also curious to see just how much Lukas had grown after this strange training.
Lukas looked at the expectant looks in the eyes of the two ladies and simply shook his head.
"Don’t worry, two leaders. I am sure both of you will get to watch my performance soon."
At this time, deeper into the forest, two figures watched Lukas from the distance. Their presence was deeply concealed; if one was not looking carefully, it would be hard to notice them.
One of the figures was a middle-aged man with skin pale as snow, thin lips that were slightly cracked, and two gray, soulless eyes filled with slight puzzlement as he stared at Lukas.
The other figure standing beside him was a stunning woman dressed in a tight black combat suit, the symbol of a bird carved on her chest. If Lukas were to look at that bird, he might have recognized it — it was the same one that had been snooping on him and Tommy. This woman noticed the look in the man’s eyes and laughed out loud.
"This is the man. He seems to be the clue to the Death God inheritance..."
Hearing the woman’s words, a look of recognition flashed through the man’s eyes. No wonder he found this man somewhat familiar — there was an almost identical sense of closeness.
This man was no ordinary awakened but a third-sequence necromancer, Ryan the Terrible. Some days ago, this woman had contacted him, saying she knew a way to help him reach the fourth sequence.
Ryan the Terrible was not a greenhorn. He could tell something was wrong with this woman, but now that he was looking at Lukas, there might be some truth to her words.
At this moment, Ryan was completely correct. The mysterious woman had indeed lied to him. Lukas was in no way related to the Death God legacy; rather, the Death God legacy was already with him.

The woman from the mysterious guild did not seem to care about Ryan’s reaction. She simply turned to him and said,
"Now send your undead and flank him."
The next moment, her eyes turned slightly serious.
"Don’t underestimate him. He is not easy to deal with."
Although she was still not sure about Lukas’s abilities, she knew the last squad sent to capture him had been completely wiped out. And the fact that he had managed to escape from the Star Mother’s trap unharmed spoke volumes about his abilities.
...
Mary and Natasha were leading the attacks when they noticed the undead’s strange behavior.
Usually, undead attacks were calm and calculated, but this time they could notice that the undead were rushing their assault, each of their actions filled with urgency.
A calm and calculated attack was always predictable, but if the opponents suddenly acted like madmen, it would be difficult to deduce their next moves.
Quickly, the White Knight soldiers started to falter. The losses were getting out of hand.
"Not good."
Vice Leader Mary frowned and turned to Lukas.
"Sword Master, it’s time for you to make your move and contribute."
Lukas did not react to her words but instead turned to Natasha. He had no business with Mary or the White Knight Guild. The only reason he was here was because of the kindness Natasha had shown him.
The two exchanged glances, and Lukas saw Natasha nod her head.
When he saw her nod, Lukas knew it was time to move.
To be honest, it would be a complete lie if he said he was not interested. All this time, when the two stars were fusing, he had felt as if his hands and legs were tied together, unable to move at all. But now that the process was finally complete, did he not feel free?
Let’s see how far I have grown...
Without thinking further, he lightly tapped the ground, and immediately his body shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, cutting through the arriving undead and appearing in the middle of the horde.
Hmm... interesting...
Lukas looked around.
The surrounding undead gave him the feeling of beings from some ancient type of movement. Their motions were slow and awkward. Dealing with one or two of them would not be an issue, but at this point there were simply too many.
Mary, who had been watching Lukas’s every move, frowned and turned to Natasha.
"Guild Leader, is this it? This is the person you were pinning your hopes on? Doesn’t he have any common sense? Charging headfirst into this undead horde might be the stupidest thing anyone could do."

Natasha heard her comparison and simply shook her head.
"Just watch."
She herself was confused about what exactly Lukas was thinking, but having watched him fight against the sword knight, she knew Lukas was not the impulsive type. If he did this, there had to be some reason.
Hidden in the distance, Ryan and the mysterious woman also watched the scene, their reactions varying.
Internally, Ryan let out a sigh. The way the woman had described him had caused him to raise his guard, but now seeing this young man charge headfirst into the undead horde...
This young man was as good as a corpse.
Just as he was feeling confident, something strange suddenly happened. The hundreds of undead surrounding Lukas froze in place.
The mysterious woman turned to look at him with an inquisitive gaze, wondering what was wrong with him. Now was such a critical moment to attack — why had he stopped the undead from moving?
Thinking of something, a hint of killing intent appeared in her eyes.
Are you thinking of betraying me?
She barked in a cold tone.
Ryan simply shook his head. He had no time to pay attention to her. He was sure he had done nothing to the skeletons, so why had this happened?
