Chapter 138: Two New Perks

[Ding! SSS Spirit Summoner hidden talent condition met.]

[New Talent Perk Unlocked.]

Zich had originally been ready to close the status panel, but after seeing these two notifications, his finger immediately froze in midair, and his expression became much more serious than before.

Cold rainwater dripped from the tips of his hair, splashing into the dark mud at his feet. In the distance, rows upon rows of tombstones stood silently within the curtain of rain, as if the entire graveyard was waiting for him to inspect this true change.

Hidden talent condition achieved.

New talent perk unlocked.

This was not an ordinary skill upgrade, nor was it a simple level increase. It was the first time the system had clearly told him that the SSS Spirit Summoner class possessed deeper mechanics.

A slow smile appeared on Zich’s face.

"Now this finally feels like an SSS class."

He did not rush to touch the Devouring Bone Giant’s tombstone. Instead, he looked back at the system text before him. Soon, the first new talent perk appeared.

[New Talent Perk: Summon Release]

[Details: Allows the host to permanently release a summon from the graveyard contract.]

[Effect: Released summons reduce the number of occupied tombstone slots by 5.]

Zich quietly finished reading the description.

This ability did not directly increase combat power, nor would it immediately make his attacks stronger. Yet Zich almost instantly saw its value.

Previously, every summon he created was essentially added permanently to his summoning system. Regardless of whether it became outdated or no longer useful, if he did not deal with it, it would remain there forever.

In the early stages, this was naturally not a problem.

But as his graveyard continued to expand, as materials became more abundant, his summons would only become more varied.

If he created a summon every time he found a slightly useful material, then sooner or later his summon list would be filled with outdated units. By that point, management itself would become a burden.

However, now he could release them. This essentially gave his summoning system the ability to reorganize and eliminate useless units.

Zich’s gaze swept across his summon list.

Slimy, Blood Leech, Silverback Ape Soldier, Iron, five Undead Skeleton Soldiers, and Tiamant.

His eyes quickly stopped on the five Undead Skeleton Soldiers.

These skeleton soldiers were not weak. At the very least, they were far stronger than what ordinary necromancers could summon. They could serve as tanks, be rented out, and hold enemies back in narrow terrain.

But they were also among the easiest units to replace.

Once he acquired better materials and created a more complete undead squad, these ordinary skeletons would eventually become inefficient units, just not now, as they still had market value.

Zich had never been the type to throw something away simply because it would become obsolete in the future.

As long as it could still make money, it still had value.

His gaze then moved to Slimy’s name. This time, he did not hesitate at all.

Slimy was not under consideration. Even if it was only an ordinary rank summon, even if its strength was far inferior to Iron and Tiamant, it was absolutely not a summon that could be casually released.

Slimy had saved him too many times. It was cheap, flexible, quick to react, capable of spitting poison, creating barriers, acting as a stepping platform, and providing healing for allies.

In Zich’s eyes, a summon like that was far too useful.

"Your position is safe for now."

Zich muttered softly.

Of course, Slimy was not currently inside the graveyard, so it could not hear those words.

Otherwise, it would probably bounce around on the ground more than a dozen times out of excitement.

The second new talent perk soon appeared.

[New Talent Perk: Spirit Bomb]

[Details: Allows the host to select tombstones inside the Graveyard and compress their spirit energy into a destructive spirit mass.]

[Effect: Creates an explosive undead energy bomb. Power depends on the number, rank, and quality of selected tombstones.]

[Cost: Selected tombstones will be permanently consumed.]

[Available Mode: Manual Selection / Batch Selection]

[Warning: Once compression begins, selected tombstones cannot be recovered.]

Zich’s eyes completely lit up.

Spirit Bomb!

The two words looked simple, but what they represented was anything but simple.

This was not summoning, nor was it absorption. It was directly turning the tombstones inside the graveyard into a weapon of destruction.

In other words, those materials that could previously only be used to fuse low level summons or be absorbed for a small amount of attributes now had an entirely new purpose.

Zich immediately realized the value of this talent.

The ordinary skeleton tombstones and low level undead tombstones from the Undead Dungeon were individually worthless.

But if there were enough of them, they could be compressed into a disposable method of destruction.

Clearing beast tides, blasting through blockades, creating escape routes, disrupting enemy formations.

Even dealing crucial damage during boss battles.

All of these uses were extremely practical and would help him conserve mana points.

However, he quickly noticed the consumption warning.

The selected tombstones would disappear permanently.

The smile on his face faded slightly.

If it only consumed low level tombstones, there was no issue.

But if he accidentally selected high grade materials, or carelessly consumed valuable tombstones during an emergency, then it would be a reckless waste.

Just as he was thinking this, a new system notification appeared.

[Protected Tomb Rule Activated]

[Important tombstones can be marked as protected. Protected tombstones cannot be selected for Spirit Bomb unless protection is removed manually.]

After reading it, Zich’s mood improved considerably.

"Now that’s more like it."

If Spirit Bomb could randomly consume tombstones, he would never use it casually. There was no way he could accept a skill accidentally devouring materials like Tiamant or the Devouring Bone Giant at a critical moment.

But now that a protection system existed, everything was different.

He waved his hand. Several important tombstones in the distance were immediately marked by a faint system glow.

[Protected Tombstones Registered]

Zich nodded in satisfaction. This way, even when selecting low level tombstones in batches in the future, he would not have to worry about accidentally blowing up anything truly valuable.

His gaze shifted toward the ordinary skeleton tombstones from the Undead Catacombs.

There were quite a few of them, but their aura was weak, making them perfect for testing.

"Let’s try it."
