Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Zynothium Part-1
"Ahem," Peter said, making all the women behind the booth look at him. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce the incredible creation of something never before seen," he said, then turned around to look at the Particle Accelerator.
Next to it were two Tesla coils and in front of him was a third one. In the middle was a cylindrical tube, 1 meter by 50 centimeters long, with several tubes connected to it. On its sides were mirrors forming a half octagon.
Every single component in this room had been reinforced with runes to be harder and more resistant.
The mirrors were designed so that when the Particle Accelerator’s laser beam appeared, it would not hit the surrounding area, as had happened with Tony.
Each mirror was positioned so that the laser beam would be directed into the cylindrical tube without harming anything or anyone.
Once fired, the laser beam would strike the mirrors until it hit a specific point in the cylindrical tube, where it would be absorbed and transformed into energy that would be distributed to a section inside the tube.
"Okay, Cortana, put on some music and let us start the experiment." Putting on some black glasses, he approached the turned-off particle accelerator and took the valve, but did not turn it, and did not turn it on either.
He listened to the music for a few seconds and without realizing it, one of his eyes flashed red and a crazy smile appeared on his face.
These features were seen by the girls because of the mirrors, and each of them felt chills and a little fear. All except one woman in blue, who found that smile incredibly attractive.
"Cortana, introduce Substance A." Substance A was Banner’s blood, but it had been altered, being 70% Gamma Radiation.
"Substance A is the DNA of the subject known as Bruce Banner, also known as Hulk. This sample was highly modified to be more radioactive, being 70% more radioactive than normal," he explained to the girls. Even though he did not turn around, he could see through the mirrors that they were amazed.
The blood began to move through the tube until it reached the cylindrical tube.
Because he had been studying Bruce’s blood extensively, he could now recreate it without problems, though he needed a small sample to do so.
He could also alter it to make it more or less radioactive, but unfortunately he could not make Banner stop being the Hulk.
"Screens."
A holographic screen appeared next to him in the cockpit, showing Hulk’s green blood cells.
"Okay, everything is under control. Apply Substance B."
Substance B was his own blood, which had also been altered to make the spider DNA more dominant, so dominant that if someone injected it, they would end up looking like Harry from The Amazing Spider-Man movie, if not uglier.
"Substance B is my own DNA, which was also altered, making the spider DNA predominant. You might be wondering why my blood.... Easy.... My blood has a certain quality that makes any substance that enters my body be absorbed and eliminate anything that could harm me.
In other words, this quality takes the best parts of the substance to enhance my body. That is why the spider bite did not kill me. This quality took the best parts of the spider venom and.... well, you saw the result. Cortana and I do not know what this quality is, and I am 80% sure it is not the X-Gene that metahumans, also known as mutants, have."
He mentioned this while looking at the screen, and what he saw amazed him.
His blood cells were absorbing the green ones, and for each one absorbed by his blood cell, two more came out of it. The same thing happened with the green blood cells every time one of them absorbed one of his.
"Impressive. Let us see what happens if we add this.... Add Substance C."
Substance C was the Super Soldier serum, but unlike the one he had injected himself with, this one was similar to the one Steve Rogers had received.
Once the serum came into contact with the cells, they absorbed the liquid and incredibly, the cells enlarged and swelled.
"Curious, very curious."
Two red dots appeared on his glasses, which only the girls noticed through the mirrors.
On the screen he could now see his blood cells and Hulk’s locked in a battle to absorb each other, which was incredibly fascinating to watch.
"Activate the Vita-Ray Coils."
After a few seconds a buzzing sound was heard, then bluish-white rays began to come out of the coils, rays that began to hit the cylindrical tube because it was surrounded by a material that attracted them.
From the screen, something incredible could be seen.
The red and green blood cells were no longer battling each other. They were trying to merge. Some succeeded, others did not.
Those that had been absorbed began to duplicate, and little by little each blood cell began to merge with the other.
After a few seconds he could see how the blood cells began to change. Some of them began to develop protrusions like spines. These cells began to move and collide with others, and from this action white blood cells began to form.
Just as he was about to ask Cortana to stop the Vita-Beams, he saw the white blood cells begin to vibrate, and then thorn-like protrusions appeared.
At this point, he could not understand what was happening to the blood, and he highly doubted anyone could. Finding this effect extremely curious, he decided to leave the Vita-Beams on and try something new.
"Cortana, activate the Quantum Ray Coil." Unlike the other coils, this one emitted yellow rays.
Once the Quantum Ray hit the tube, he saw how the cells began to overlap.
Some divided and then returned to being one, creating the same effect Ava had shown in the film. Others began to become incredibly transparent to the point that the microscope could not see or detect them, and then after a few seconds they became visible again.
Looking at the cylindrical tube, he saw how the blood at one point became transparent and then turned reddish-black again, but now with some yellow and blue streaks.
At this point, he stopped paying attention to the blood and concentrated on what he had in his hands.
"Chief, I recommend we stop. The blood is at a point where I cannot even recognize what it is anymore, what properties it has, or even if it is dangerous," Cortana said.
"No, we are not finished yet. Turn on the Alpha-Batteries and set them to maximum power."
He did not receive a response, but he knew Cortana obeyed the order because the particle accelerator started to hum.
He slightly moved the prism in the direction it needed to be so that the laser would reach the tube. "Cortana, sometimes you have to run before you can walk."
Unlike Tony who used electricity, he used Alpha-Batteries to avoid problems such as a power outage once the experiment was over or even when he turned off the Accelerator, as happened in typical cheesy movies.
Besides, SHIELD could investigate any blackout, and most likely they would see that it was caused by him, leading to a thorough investigation of the house and possibly the Spider-Cave. Which he would not allow.
"Starting particle accelerator," Cortana said.
He saw in the mirrors how all the girls had expressions of astonishment on their faces, and that made him puff out his chest with pride.
"Point of maximum energy."
Grasping the valve firmly and aiming it precisely at the tube, he watched as the laser struck the mirrors, finally hitting the expected part of the cylindrical tube.
Inside the cylinder, he saw several wires begin to glow a light blue.
Within the tube was a small ring made of the same material as the triangle on Stark’s reactor. This ring caused all the effects inside the tube to be amplified and purified.
He was so focused on the cylindrical tube that he did not see how the white blood cells began to change little by little. The cells began to clump together forming an organic molecular structure, and from that structure it gradually began to change, forming an atom.
This began to combine with the molecular structure, causing the structure to form a rhombus, and within that rhombus the atom was enclosed. Each and every one of the rhombuses was perfectly connected, forming a beautiful and perfect molecule.
The atom was not like the ones he knew.
It was completely different. Instead of yellow electrons, these were green with blue streaks. The protons were red with white spots. The neutrons were pure white.
The only people who saw this beautiful change were the girls, as they were so focused on the screen, and Cortana, as she was inside the screen, and the high-tech microscope.
After a few seconds, the particle accelerator’s laser began to decrease its power until it was completely off, accompanied by the coils.
