Chapter 1147: Chapter 1116: Xiao Lin Falls Into a Trap

"Surprised?" Wang Weibo spoke with a pipe in his mouth, a strong, pungent tobacco smell wafting out as he spoke. "I’m the new owner here."

"Then you came at the right time. Do you recognize these two prostitutes?" Rochester handed over a photograph of the two women who had just been lying in the corridor.

"How could I possibly know people like that!" Wang Weibo glanced at the photo and tossed it back to Rochester.

"Aren’t you the owner here?"

"I’ve got plenty of women like them here. Do you expect me, as the owner, to sleep with each of them to test their skills before keeping them?" Wang Weibo laughed, watching Rochester’s face turn red with frustration at his words. "Sheriff, trivial matters like this are handled by my men. You can ask Miller."

"Miller?" As Rochester stood bewildered, a tall, broad young man with green hair walked over. Xiao Lin immediately recognized him as the guy who reported back in the hallway earlier.

"Officer, you can ask me directly. I know this place best." He was overly polite, this was Xiao Lin’s first impression. He looked at Miller, who just appeared in time to free Wang Weibo from Rochester’s entangling questions, taking over the interruption. This person’s mind was meticulously sharp enough to not be underestimated.

With this person’s appearance and his reasonable speech, Rochester had no choice but to follow Miller to the front. By now, the bar was no longer able to continue its business.

Within just a few minutes, Wang Weibo had disappeared from the scene. Xiao Lin noticed Kate walking towards the back and immediately followed.

Wang Weibo sidestepped the police, exited out back, and lit a cigarette. His car was already parked at the alley entrance, his leather shoes clacking on the cement ground. The moment Kate stepped outside, ready to catch up, Xiao Lin yanked her back into the rear door. By then, Wang Weibo, who was ahead, had stopped. Deliberately, he looked back at the darkness and let out a heavy, cold laugh before continuing towards his car.

"Let me go!" Kate struggled in Xiao Lin’s grasp, almost catching the killer of Cross earlier. Her eyes were filled with hatred as she glared at Xiao Lin from behind. "You can’t stop me from avenging Cross!"

Xiao Lin released Kate. "If you get anywhere near Wang Weibo, you’ll be riddled with bullets!" In the back alley, Jieliushou was nowhere to be seen, but marksmen were all around. Though they hid well, their intent to kill had already exposed their positions. "Kate, I’ve told you to go back to the United States."

"I can’t go back just like that!"

"Damn it, the commotion you’ve caused has ruined this transaction." Xiao Lin’s voice was filled with reproach, but mostly concern. From Wang Weili to the snipers just now, all efforts were to capture this deal. Yet, with three changes and interruptions, Xiao Lin already felt this transaction was a failure. However, in ’tomor’, he still had hope, but the two innocent women lying on the ground would surely cause chaos, the deal would be stalled, and without tangible evidence, the police couldn’t make arrests. His assumptions alone couldn’t take down Wang Weibo, especially when he was acting in an ordinary capacity tonight.

"What commotion?" Kate broke free from Xiao Lin’s control, bewildered by his words. "You mean those two women? No, that wasn’t me."

"Not you?" Xiao Lin hissed, then shouted as he realized he’d fallen for a crude decoy. But it was too late.

The three people leaving ’tomor’ got into a taxi heading to their residence. Not far from the hotel, one of them, a beefy guy, got out in front of a restaurant, planning to buy some late-night snacks, while the taxi continued. It seemed like a routine behavior, perfectly normal, yet after less than a kilometer, the taxi emitted a massive sound. The beefy guy who had just entered the restaurant stepped out upon hearing the noise, his legs giving way beneath him instantly.

The taxi had collided with a large truck, its entire front end crashing into a private residence, and the body almost completely severed.

"Can you still stand up?" A pleasant voice sounded above him. He mechanically turned his head to meet a pair of grey eyes, nodding instinctively. "OK, follow me!"

"No, I’m not going with you!" The beefy guy regained his senses and got up from the ground, instinctively retreating from the unfamiliar man in front of him, having just lost two companions.

The grey eyes smiled slightly. The refusal didn’t deter him much. As the beefy guy resolutely resisted, he was already advancing.

The beefy guy turned and ran into the alley out of fear, provoking mocking laughter from the man.

"No, don’t come any closer, stay away!" The beefy guy ran while shouting for help, but no one could hear him, the front was pitch-black like a dead end.

"Poor thing!" Like abandoning a game of cat and mouse, the man stepped forward, soaring in the direction of the running beefy guy, spreading his arms like an eagle, and extending his right hand, resembling an eagle’s talon, reaching for the back of the beefy guy’s head.

At that critical moment, a dark shadow darted from the side, blocking between him and the beefy guy, a powerful single-legged kick swinging fiercely at the eagle-claw-like right arm.

"Jieliushou, don’t meddle in other people’s business." The man shouted at the incoming leg, falling back, forcibly withdrawing his downward momentum to avoid the attack.

The beefy guy crouched on the ground for a long while, not noticing anyone approaching, so he lowered his hands from his head and looked back, only to find another person in front of him, having blocked the attack earlier. Relieved, he slumped to the ground, gasping heavily.

Jieliushou stared at the man before him, pulling into a smile. "Lucifer, where are you planning to take this guy?"

"None of your business, step aside!" Lucifer glared coldly at Jieliushou. This person was the closest to Xiao Lin, instinctively scanning for Xiao Lin’s possible hiding spots.

"Haha, and if I don’t?"

"Well, there’s nothing I can do!" Jieliushou shrugged, putting on a helpless expression, then suddenly sprang forth, dashing towards Lucifer.

As both sides swiftly advanced, momentum gradually increased, reaching its peak with a roar from Lucifer!

The two suddenly accelerated, closing the twenty-step distance in their rapid advance in an instant, two fists, glimmering in the night, clashed thunderously in a no-frills collision.

Like two meteors streaking across, flashing a dazzling brilliance!

Bam! At the sound of a dull impact, the two figures that had just collided instantly separated. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
