Chapter 1146: Chapter 1115: The Street

Putting away the silencer gun, Yelv Shou gestured to the direction behind him, a figure descended to the ground. ’Tomor’ was not unfamiliar to Yelv Shou; he knew the environment quite well. On several occasions, while tracking the human artist, he lost the trail here. Ahead was a large bar, and at the back was an undisclosed secret hideout. The dead man just now was the best evidence. Such thorough and tight defense meant a transaction might be going on inside.

After Xiao Lin killed the sniper, the place where the signal flare was fired was only half a street away from ’Tomor.’ And when observing the dead man, he detected a hint of doubt from the man’s serious pupils. Yelv Shou shook his head at Xiao Lin, indicating that the person using the signal flare was unrelated to here. It was very likely some of the second group.

After an exchange of glances, Yelv Shou picked up the button of the signal flare device that had fallen to the ground, mimicking the posture of the man just now by crouching on the ground, while Xiao Lin pulled down his hat brim and slipped through the door.

’Tomor’s loudspeaker was deafening, and after entering through the back door, the cacophony rolled in. As Xiao Lin was about to head to the left, a familiar figure entered his field of vision.

"Kate?" Xiao Lin’s internal alarm began to ring—how could he be here? Without much thought, Xiao Lin decisively headed to the right.

Kate was sitting at the bar, ordering a glass of tequila. He looked like a flamboyant playboy, a pocket full of cash like a stereotypical American tourist getting wasted on this land.

Such people were everywhere in Palermo, often called uncultured bumpkins. Of course, this doesn’t refer to everyone, just some places’ inhabitants, carrying a derogatory tone. Yet these people are often popular because they’re wealthy and willing to spend. Women and businessmen like them—they’re generous when spending money.

Xiao Lin approached Kate, like a cat, and at that moment, a tall, alluring woman took a seat beside Kate before him, wrapping one arm around his shoulder. The two quickly began flirting. The bartender, accustomed to this, poured the woman the same drink and started serving other patrons. Within minutes, Kate was already holding the woman’s slim waist, heading away from the bar towards Xiao Lin’s direction.

Quickly blending into a corner, Kate and the woman had already passed Xiao Lin, moving toward the back of ’Tomor.’ Following the usual practice, this meant a negotiated prostitute starting with a client in the bar restroom. This saves time and eliminates the worry of men running off post-action. The women doing business here are regulars, and if an inconsiderate man thinks of leaving without paying, the bar’s bouncers would be there to spill some blood.

Kate was an enchanting guy, taking the woman to the back. He began lightly pecking at the woman’s lips, one hand resting against the wall, while his leg pressed between the woman’s legs. The two started getting steamy in the corridor, drawing whistles from passersby.

Xiao Lin watched coldly, though this was a great cover. However, ’Tomor’ was not an ordinary place, and Kate was no bumpkin. Xiao Lin believed this dazzling scene was already under others’ control. Indeed, not long after, the woman left Kate holding his hand, leading him into the women’s restroom. This made Xiao Lin a bit troubled; standing at the crossroads, whether left, right, or straight into the ladies’ room, none were good choices. If he moved, he would immediately be within the search scope. As he hesitated, a loud sound suddenly came from directly ahead.

Someone started to run past him towards the source of the loud noise. Xiao Lin followed the crowd forward, blending in like he was watching from the sidelines.

"Oh, my God, what happened to these two?" Someone shouted there. Xiao Lin glanced inside, it was not the people he expected. Exhaling, he saw two unfamiliar women, seemingly attacked by someone, collapsed onto beer crates with a huge noise.

"Is there anyone else inside?" Someone else shouted. Xiao Lin withdrew and used this chaos to quickly run to the innermost part of the bar.

"What happened outside?" In the bar’s loft were two seemingly ordinary bedrooms, one larger, the other relatively smaller. The deep questioning voice came from the smaller room.

"I’ll go check!" The person guarding the door replied and hurried off, leaving another person behind. Shortly after, this person returned to the original spot, gently rapping on the door. "Boss, there’s movement below. Please evacuate quickly."

Xiao Lin curiously glanced at the reporting person. Usually, a report describes an event, but this person directly requested a relocation—the tone was somewhat stiff, unlike regular comrades talking to their boss.

Sitting inside were four people, the leader being a neatly dressed man, roughly thirty-five years old. He crossed his hands on the table, a deep furrow between his brows. This person must habitually furrow his brows, hence having such a brow line at a young age!

"How about you three? Should we continue or find another place to discuss in detail?"

"Boss Wang, we brothers have been following you around everywhere, isn’t this a bit too unsafe!" Among the three, the person who first spoke was a chubby guy, with a round, white face and a deep dimple on the left side. Whenever he talked, the dimple appeared, making him seem like a rather gentle man.

"Hahaha!" The robust man laughed while raising his right hand to rub his bald head. "Brother, when you roam the underworld, when is it ever safe? We live by the sword; are you scared by such a small matter?"

"Hahaha!" The chubby guy laughed along, spreading his hands and shrugging his shoulders. "That’s true, but we are all in big business, not afraid of small skirmishes. However, it is said that Boss Wang might have offended someone important this time, and that’s why they’re not letting go. Is that so?"

"Brother, I’ve been in Sicily for about a decade; what big shots haven’t I seen, what big scenes haven’t I encountered? It’s just a boy; would I really care? Besides, our Wang Family is well-known, are you really worried about losing such a small shipment?" This robust man was none other than Wang Weibo, who squinted at the three in front of him. "Today, I’m here in person to meet with you; if you trust me, come with me. If not, I can skip this deal and just be friends; there will be other opportunities, won’t there?"

The chubby guy smiled broadly at Wang Weibo, then turned to the people beside him. "What do you two think?" The men sitting on either side of him remained silent, their faces looking very displeased.

Wang Weibo nodded, tapping his fingers on the table. "Tomorrow morning, at nine o’clock, I’ll personally bring the goods to you. For today, I’ll have someone escort you out."

As soon as he finished speaking, the two men beside Fatty Wang stood up, apparently finding Wang Weibo’s proposal acceptable. From outside, the commotion grew louder, suggesting that even the police had been called; forcing a detailed conversation or transaction now would be unwise for both parties.

"Thank you for your understanding, Boss Wang. I believe tomorrow our transaction will go more smoothly." The chubby guy also stood up and extended his chubby right hand, which Wang Weibo shook.

"Naturally, I also want this deal to go through. After all, Mr. Su’s goods are highly sought after, and even a hundred tons in volume is quite dangerous to keep around." Wang Weibo chuckled.

"Everyone says Mr. Su from the Golden Triangle is notoriously difficult, and yet Boss Wang has quickly reached an agreement with him, while Nicholas hasn’t even made a move!"

"We’re doing fair business with Mr. Su. You know I don’t just deal in drugs. If anyone’s interested in a little firepower, you can find me for the latest models." As he spoke, Wang Weibo had ushered the three out, instructing some boys outside to take them down the stairs on the other side, avoiding the noisy crowd and heading to the back entrance.

Xiao Lin raised his head to look at the person standing on the stairs. Due to the lighting, he couldn’t see the face clearly but identified the person by height, realizing this unexpected incident ultimately halted the transaction.

Rochester pushed through the crowd to the scene. Two women were lying unconscious on the ground, with paramedics working to save them. The exact cause of injuries was unclear; he mumbled to himself about having no time to rest recently, running around for these people.

"Where’s your boss?" Rochester suspiciously grabbed a person dressed as a waiter and asked. The shop had a situation, yet the boss seemed quite leisurely.

The waiter glanced at Rochester, who was in plain clothes, snorted, and walked off without addressing the question. This irked the already sour-tempered Rochester even more. Fifteen minutes ago, he dealt with two bodies, and now two injured people — who might not survive — were discovered. What was going on tonight? It was just two blocks apart, back and forth.

"Hey, kid!" Rochester shouted at the walking-away person, just as someone grabbed his shoulder from behind.

"Sheriff, is it necessary to pick a fight with a working kid? I’m the owner here; may I ask what you want from me?" Wang Weibo politely stood behind Rochester.

"How come it’s...?" Rochester turned to see a Chinese man, momentarily stunned. Wasn’t this supposed to be Gambino territory! (To be continued. If you enjoyed this work, feel free to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
