"This ferocity...what happened that’s made them go crazy like this?"
It wasn’t just the numbers that were shocking, it was also how fierce they were when they attacked.
If it wasn’t for the fact that they were being suppressed by the divine energy flames that I released, then it really would have been hard for the soldiers to have stopped them.
At this point, everyone had been pushed to the center of this place and I had spread the divine energy flames in all directions.
It didn’t matter what happened to this place, the only thing that mattered was securing a patch of land in the center to ensure that no one would be injured.
Even the old farmers were able to see corruption energy monsters at this point, that was just how many of them had appeared. In the end, we really didn’t have a single choice but to move back to avoid them.
"Do I really have to show my true powers?"
It wasn’t just that we had retreated this far, it was the fact that there were no reinforcements that seemed to be coming. Even though a decent amount of time had passed, it didn’t seem like there were any reinforcements that were coming.
At this point, it was clear that there was someone that was controlling these corruption energy monsters. They were sending them to attack us like this, it was as if we had done something to personally offend them.
But no matter how I looked at it, it really didn’t seem like we had done anything.
After thinking about it for a bit, it seemed like there was only one thing that could be done at this point.
"Where are you going?" The soldier that had been beside me asked the moment he saw me stepping forward.
The voice of this soldier was a bit loud, so it attracted the attention of the people around us as well.
All of them looked at me with concerned looks as they waited for an answer to this question.
However, I knew that they weren’t concerned because they were worried about their own safety.
The way that they looked at me was more than enough for me to tell that they were worried because they thought I was going to do something crazy.
It was clear that the current situation was bad, but it was something that could be maintained. All of the people here had the same idea that I did, to wait for the reinforcements to arrive before breaking out of here.
But since I was making a move, they thought that I was going to do something desperate.
"It’s not going to work."
Though I normally wouldn’t have said something like this that would crush their hopes, I had no choice. I had to make it clear to them that just waiting here wouldn’t solve the problem.
After all, whoever was out there controlling the corruption energy monsters was also making sure that no one would be able to reach us.
If we kept waiting, then I would be forced to make a proper move.
It wasn’t as if we would be in danger, but it wouldn’t feel good to be forced to reveal myself. Especially since the things that I was currently working on were things that couldn’t be revealed casually.
Hearing what I said, it was clear that they were affected.
However, it was also clear that they were trying to keep their hopes up with how they quickly changed their expressions.
I didn’t wait for them to say anything since I had already said all that I needed to say.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if anyone was able to stop me.
Which was why I strode out into the flames and moved out of the range.
I made sure that the flames had enough power to burn for a while so that it would keep them safe before leaving the range.
The moment that I stepped out of the flames, I was completely surrounded by the corruption energy monsters. The way that they had surrounded me showed that it was far more than just instinct.
This was another sign that there was something that was controlling them.
"Even an Apostle of Destruction is here?"
That was the only thing that could have controlled them to this extent, but it still didn’t make sense why there was an Apostle of Destruction that came all this way to destroy this small place.
Only since I was out here, it made it easier for me to find what I was looking for.
I had reached a different level now that my seals had been released.
I found that my senses towards divine energy were sharper than before, but that also meant that I was much sharper towards corruption energy as well.
The current situation was different from the situation before where there wasn’t enough corruption energy. With all of these corruption energy monsters in the surrounding area, the surrounding corruption energy had surged.
Because of that, it was actually easy to pick out a strange sensation among this corruption energy.
Basically, it was a much more concentrated version of the corruption energy.
There was no doubt that this was the trail of the Apostle of Destruction.
With a single wave of my hand, I cut through the corruption energy monsters that had been coming at me with flame swords. These swords were clearly much stronger version of the flames that I had been releasing to keep the corruption energy monsters away.
None of the corruption energy monsters stood a chance while I was able to clear a path in front of me.
As if they noticed that something was off, I could sense that the concentrated trail of corruption energy was moving. The Apostle of Destruction that was here didn’t seem to be the kind that fought head on, this was an Apostle of Destruction that seemed to be a coward.
Then again, it wouldn’t have sent all these corruption energy monsters if it wasn’t a coward.
