Chapter 212: The legacy of Fools III
"What happened?" The warden asked.
The student, crying with tears and snot decorating his whole being, pointed back at a distant figure.
"H-He attacked me!"
The warden wanted to know who dared to cause trouble in the cultivation grounds, but when he saw the person, he was frozen in place.
That kid again?
Seeing that the warden was silent, the student complained
"I only wanted to save her!" He pointed at Mozrael.
"From who?" The warden asked, more confused
"Him!"
"..." Aren’t they friends?
"Then she attacked me!" he pointed.
The Warden slowly followed the trembling finger.
His eyelid twitched.
"...her?"
The warden’s brain couldn’t handle it all.
"You mean he attacked you again?"
He vigorously shook his head, "No, he kicked me, then she burned me," he cried again.
This doesn’t make any sense.
The student started to explain, but the more he explained, the worse he sounded.
The warden looked at him weirdly.
You tried to flirt with a girl and insulted her companion.
Then you attacked someone who wasn’t even your rival.
Then got burned. And now you’re crying.
The warden wasn’t sure this made sense.
He asked a random student standing by the side, and the facts were confirmed.
"This..."
"Warden, you must uphold justice!" He’d wiped his tears and pointed at Aramith indignantly.
But his figure was nothing short of miserable.
His burnt clothes clung to him like loose vines, and everyone who saw him pitied him so much.
The warden was about to ask something when he noticed two human sprouts with their heads buried in the ground.
He made some students dig them out, and when he saw their faces, he understood the situation better, but he was more shocked when he finally recognized the burnt duckling.
This kid had always been acting high and mighty, but today, he got humbled.
Turns out it was true that when the tiger wasn’t around, the monkey poses as king.
Indeed, this time, the kid had learned a lesson.
Attacking students for no reason is usually called for punishment, but this situation became complicated for the warden.
Three people attacked two people [one person, actually].
And when they got defeated, they came to seek justice, claiming to have been bullied. It was a good thing that the victims were unscathed.
The warden looked at the student, deciding to put some sense into his mind, so he won’t make a scene out of this.
"You want to punish the person who burnt you?" He knew this guy fancied Mozrael, so if he was made aware that Mozrael would be implicated, he’d drop it, but the warden failed to notice that he was dealing with a talented fool.
"No, I don’t want her to be punished. She was just being gentle. I want him to be punished!" he jabbed a finger at Aramith again.
The warden almost coughed up blood, looking at the main character of this whole scene.
He glared at the kid who was seeking justice against Aramith.
Your mother! This kid is the Tector’s favorite student! Has the Rector ever apologized to you? Do you have millions of points?
How was he supposed to punish Aramith? He’d definitely be implicated as well for not taking care of the cultivation grounds.
The warden frowned at the student who was trying to get him into trouble.
"You attacked first, yet you’re asking to punish the person you failed to bully? Have you no shame?"
The student looked dejected. "But..."
"Hurry up and go apologize to Aramith!" he scolded.
The student couldn’t believe his ears.
Why should he apologize when he was the one who got hurt? [idiot! You’re the one who attacked in the first place.
But the words of the warden shook everyone there.
Bam!
Jaws dropped loudly, leaving a plume of dust.
That was Aramith?
They couldn’t believe it. They were actually supporting the most infamous character in the school, deep in their hearts.
Their moods were now complicated. Looking at Aramith, they couldn’t find anything despicable about him. He didn’t seek trouble, and when he was pestered by these guys, he decided to walk away.
He only attacked when he was threatened by three people.
And what about those rumors that he only used the power of his tutor to harass people?
That’s not something a despicable person would do, right?
Even right from the start, if not for the fact that the two were together, and seen as a couple by some, a few guys would have rushed to flirt with Mozrael, and some girls would have approached Aramith as well.
With difficulty, the warden forced the three fools to Aramith’s side.
One extremely miserable burnt duckling and two miserable human sprouts bowed to Aramith in apology in the presence of all the students.
Lydan, standing some distance from this whole scene, remained calm.
This was all too familiar, and he started to feel bad.
They did the same last time, seeking trouble with Aramith and looking down on him, but Lynnor came in at the final moment and forced those students to apologize to Aramith.
Albeit this time, the scene was milder and more gentle.
When they were done with their apology, the warden turned to them.
"I’m going to pretend none of this happened. You attempted to attack someone and failed to do so. If they were injured in the slightest, I’d be sending you to the Rector for punishment."
"R-Rector...: They shook in fear.
No student wanted to appear despicable and troublesome in front of their idol.
And worse yet, he was going to let the Rector be the one to punish them.
Apart from being worshipped as the Rector, Father Ilthane was also feared by the students because of how intense his punishments were.
Only a few students had ever gone through his iron hands of punishment, and they were transformed completely. NO one wanted to know how that felt.
With all that done, the troublemakers left the cultivation grounds with the support of a few students.
Sylvia went to Aramith and Mozrael.
