Chapter 7: First Kiss
Kalon stood very close to Josinia. His heart was beating fast in his chest.
She had closed her eyes and was leaning forward slowly. Her plump red lips looked soft and slightly shiny.
This is it. My first kiss... Let’s not mess this up.
He leaned in at the same time and their lips touched.
Josinia let out a small, surprised sound, but she didn’t pull away from him. Their lips remained locked.
Kalon remembered what the System told him earlier about Vendurians being very sensitive to touch. So, he moved his hands slowly to her waist and rested them on her soft stomach.
He held her gently, as they continued kissing.
Josinia pressed herself a little closer as the kiss continued. Her smaller breasts pushed softly against his chest.
Kalon could feel two buttons pressing against him from behind the fabric of her maid outfit.
Is that...

Kalon kept his hands on her waist for a moment longer.
"I umm... don’t think it works that way. Not even for Vendurions."
Josinia sighed, then smiled shyly. Afterwards her expression changed as she remembered her duties.
"I have to bring the Princess her tea now. I can’t stay much longer." She stepped back slowly.
"If you want to explore while I’m gone, be careful not to be seen. Go to the lower servant passages on the east side. They connect to the outer gardens. Stay away from the royal wing and the main halls. The guards check those often. You aren’t a criminal, but you might not be ready to reveal yourself to this planet yet."
She touched his arm gently one last time, and Kalon nodded his head.
"I’ll make sure to visit you again soon." He said.
Josinia smiled again, and her pink eyes seemed to light up.
With that, she hurried out of the room and closed the door behind her.
Kalon stood there alone. He touched his lips, still feeling the warmth from the kiss.
My first kiss... I wonder what’s up next?
A notification appeared in front of his eyes.
[Mission Complete: Kiss Maid Josinia]
[Reward: Steel Pill will be delivered to you once you have returned to earth.]
Kalon’s eyes lit up and he smiled.
The Steel Pill.
With this, he could reach the next rank before almost anyone else in his year.
This is huge. I can actually get stronger faster than Richard and the others.

Before he could think more about it, another notification popped up.

Kalon’s blinked a few times and went over the notification again.
Wait, it’s giving me tips on how to go further? This system is some sort of wingman... or woman.
His mind raced for a second. He felt nervous just reading it.
Everything was going so fast, but he knew this was the first step he needed to take to stop being a loser.

He decided to follow Josinia’s advice and explore the route she told him to take.
After making sure the palace hallway was clear, he slipped into the lower servant passages on the east side.
The corridors were narrow and lit by small glowing crystals.
Purple skinned servants dressed in black suits passed by sometimes, carrying trays or cleaning supplies, but no one paid him much attention.
He looked like he belonged there in his black academy outfit, as long as he stayed out of the light.
Kalon walked carefully for a while. The passages eventually opened up into the outer gardens.
Tall crystal plants glowed along the winding paths. Floating lanterns hung above them, casting creating more light .
The planet was peaceful and warm. He stayed close to the tall plants, keeping himself hidden as he continued through the garden.
He saw more floating carriages moving in the distance and heard the faint hum of the city. It was so different from the cities back on Earth.
After some time, he stopped near a stone wall covered in posters. Most of them were about servant schedules and simple palace rules.
One notice, however, stood out from the rest.
It was written clearly in neat writing:
Attention all staff: Due to recent tensions with the Western Houses, all travel outside the capital is restricted until further notice. The Queen assures everyone that the civil war will end soon. Remain calm and do not spread rumors.
Kalon stared at the paper for a long moment.
Civil war? So Venduros isn’t as peaceful as it looks on the surface.
He continued walking through the garden paths, thinking about what he had read.
The time on his system was still ticking down, but he felt strangely calm. Every visit here gave him something new.
Every time he returned home, he was a better man than he was before.
He touched his lips again, remembering the kiss.
Then he thanked the system again.
