Chapter 1240: Chapter 1240: Sharing a Room
Manuel Ink took Summer Sutton through several streets, but discovered that the hotels either had no rooms, or only one room left.
Standing on the street, he took out his phone, opened the hotel booking app, and checked all the hotels, finding that they were all fully booked.
Frozen in place for a while, pondering how to spend the night, Summer Sutton’s voice suddenly rang out, "One room it is, or there won’t even be one left soon."
Without hesitation, she headed straight for the hotel with the remaining room.
Manuel Ink turned his head to watch her for a while, the corners of his lips curled slightly, and he followed her up in a few steps.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Summer Sutton went straight to the front desk.
"Hello, we’d like the remaining room."
"Certainly, miss." The receptionist smiled at her, quickly completed the check-in process, and handed her the room key.
Summer Sutton led the way upstairs.
Manuel Ink paid, and quickly followed her up.
Once inside the room, Summer Sutton opened all the curtains, then tidied up the suite’s sofa.
Staying in the same room with Manuel Ink didn’t worry her.
She knew Manuel Ink wouldn’t do anything she didn’t agree with.
Since meeting him, she had come to trust him, the night they were locked in a room by the Old Master at the Ink Family being a prime example.
Besides, there was a sofa and a bed in the room, worst case one could sleep on the sofa, the other on the bed.
She was quite easygoing.
"You take the bed tonight, I’ll sleep on the sofa!" After tidying up the bed for him, Summer Sutton went to the bathroom to freshen up.
She truly wasn’t fussy, despite being a delicate girl, she didn’t mind sleeping on the sofa at all.
Finished with her nightly routine, she cuddled a pillow and sat on the sofa, ready to sleep just like that.
Her state left Manuel Ink dazed for quite a while.
Summer Sutton, sitting asleep, sat upright on the sofa, falling asleep surprisingly quickly.
Her eyes slowly closed as her head began to nod like a pecking chick.
Manuel Ink had assumed she couldn’t sleep, but was surprised she not only fell asleep, but did so in under ten minutes.
This woman was a bit unconventional.
Summer Sutton’s head continued bobbing, and Manuel Ink, watching her slump in sleep, figured she’d soon lean over onto the sofa.
Unexpectedly, as she slept, her head dipped forcefully, sending her body tumbling straight onto the floor...
With a thud, the sound echoed loudly throughout the room.
Manuel Ink had never seen someone fall in such a manner while sitting, and stared at her blankly for a few seconds.
Summer Sutton likely felt some pain from the fall, and in her daze, rubbed her aching back and waist. Expecting her to awaken, Manuel was taken aback when she didn’t even flutter an eyelid and continued sleeping.
She slept deeply, as if she hadn’t slept in a long time, her eyes staying shut the entire night.
Even lying on the cold floor, she showed no sign of waking.
Her state left Manuel Ink a little dazed.
He suddenly wondered if Summer Sutton had been sleeping at all during the past few nights.
Summer Sutton lay on the floor, her petite body curled in a ball, the small town’s chill unnoticed in her sleep.
Unable to bear it any longer, Manuel Ink gently moved closer, crouched down, and lifted her off the ground.
Carrying her to the bed, he lifted the sheets and laid her gently down...
