Chapter 1235: Chapter 1235: New Beginnings
After Summer Sutton arrived in M Country, she first rented a small apartment to live in for the time being.
Manuel Ink stayed with her to get all the daily necessities ready, and only left after having someone help tidy up the apartment.
Not at ease with her living here alone, after coming back to M Country with her, he didn’t immediately return to Northtown to deal with company matters, but decided to stay here for a while.
Summer walked him out of the apartment. Before getting into the car, Manuel looked at her again and reminded her, "If you need anything at all, you can call me. I’ll be around here during this time."
"Okay." Summer nodded.
Manuel was still not very comfortable with her, a woman, living alone. After he drove off, halfway along the road, he called one of his men and arranged for two people to secretly protect her before returning to the Ink Family Castle.
After he left, Summer went to cook the first meal of the day.
It was already seven o’clock; what she was cooking was dinner, and it was also the only meal she’d had while being busy until now.
She had rented this apartment for two years for the time being, paying the full two years’ rent in one lump sum.
After paying the rent, she basically didn’t have much savings left.
Summer’s mood had been too chaotic recently; she had no desire to go to work, so she decided to take a few days off for now.
Once her mood steadied, she would go check out the entertainment companies here to see if there was any work as a producer.
After dinner, it was a bit past eight.
This wasn’t considered late, but after a busy day, she was exhausted.
Yet no matter how tired she was, she just couldn’t fall asleep.
As soon as she closed her eyes, her mind was full of what happened with Watt Bennet this time.
Despite what had happened, Summer actually didn’t hate Watt Bennet in the least.
In his normal state, Summer believed he would never do anything to betray their marriage.
But regardless of the circumstances under which that night happened, the fact remained that it had happened.
What Summer couldn’t accept was simply that something like this had occurred at all.
She also couldn’t accept that because of it, her marriage with Watt Bennet would from now on be entangled with the Hughes in such a messy way...
Summer’s head felt unbearably heavy. The more she thought about everything that had happened lately, the clearer her mind became.
The more she thought, the harder it was to sleep.
In the end, she just opened her eyes and climbed out of bed, took out a small notebook, and started making an itinerary for her few days of rest.
She still had a little bit of money on hand. Before she started job-hunting again, Summer planned to spend a few days traveling around all the countries near M Country.
To wander around, clear her head, and ease her mood—maybe when she came back here again, many things she couldn’t figure out before she’d be able to understand, and the things that had once knotted up her heart might fade away.
After recording all her plans in the notebook, Summer worked out a rough travel guide.
She looked up information online about every country she wanted to visit. By the time she closed the browser, it was already past two.
On her phone, there were a lot of missed calls from Watt Bennet, but she hadn’t answered a single one.
Summer stared quietly at the phone screen, her gaze fixed on his name; for a long time, she couldn’t bear to look away.
Privately, she had saved his contact as "husband."
No matter whether his identity was Watt Bennet or Adrian Walyon, calling him that wasn’t wrong.
In fact, deep down Summer would rather he were the Adrian Walyon from before.
Back when he was Watt Bennet or Adrian Walyon, a lot had happened between them, but at no time had he ever let her suffer any grievance...
But thinking of who he was now, Summer didn’t directly change his name in her phone to "Adrian."
