Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Using the Refined Island Entry Order
Sure enough, someone was braving the cold night, gliding toward them on a wooden board.
"Hey there. Is this Logan Langdon’s raft? Could you ask him to come out?"
In the dead of night, the raft’s outdoor solar lamp was as conspicuous as a searchlight.
Faye Yardley stared at the visitor, who was bundled up thickly against the cold. "This isn’t Logan Langdon’s raft. His is further in that direction. At your current speed, you should see it in about fifteen to twenty minutes."
"Oh? Ah, thanks." The man couldn’t help but take another look at the two of them. Their backs were to the light, so he couldn’t see their faces clearly, but he could sense their cold, aloof attitude—the kind that kept people at a distance.
This raft was huge, and it even had an Arrow Tower. He was certain that if he had taken even one step closer, those two women wouldn’t have hesitated to act.
His instincts were never wrong.
Tsk, tsk. To have developed something this good in just a few days... if they did it on their own, they were seriously impressive.
Two women, even if they had combined their resources, this was still quite an achievement.
Such an impressive pair of sisters, and Mr. Langdon hadn’t managed to scoop them up yet?
Still, their raft was in the vicinity. With more interactions in the future, he was sure there would be opportunities.
Come to think of it, he hadn’t seen another woman since this game started. And since he knew what he was missing, it was inevitable he’d have such thoughts.
Watching the man leave, Willow Yardley finally said, "Sister, that man’s intentions aren’t pure. The way he looked at us was lecherous."
It was unavoidable. As a robot, her vision wasn’t actually affected by the lighting.
Faye Yardley replied, "Mm, got it. We need to leave this area as soon as possible."
She turned and went back inside. After a good night’s sleep, she woke up at four o’clock sharp.
Faye Yardley was discovering that she was waking up earlier and earlier.
After exercising for an hour, she sat cross-legged on the raft outside, facing the sun to practice her breathing technique.
Yvonne Lynch was just waking up. Her complexion looked much better than when she had first arrived yesterday, and her steps seemed a bit lighter.
Seeing Faye Yardley meditating outside, Yvonne Lynch’s expression stiffened. She cursed inwardly, ’Oh no, I think I woke up late.’
As she pushed open the door, a gust of cold wind made her shiver.
She looked up and saw snowflakes already beginning to flutter down from the sky outside the raft.
Thanks to the protective shield, not a single snowflake could land on the raft.
"It’s snowing?"
Willow Yardley came out from inside. "The temperature is starting to rise."
Yvonne Lynch had learned a little about her new world yesterday. The level of danger here wasn’t much better than in her own world.
But at least this world still had hope.
When Faye Yardley finished her practice, Yvonne Lynch was jogging laps on the raft.
"It’s snowing, and it’s accumulating so fast," Yvonne said, watching the ice surface outside the raft become completely covered by a blanket of white.
The mirror-like reflection it had in the sunlight was gradually fading.
"Sister, the ice under the snow is thinning rapidly. We shouldn’t leave the raft. It’s dangerous."
Willow Yardley’s warning made Faye realize that this unnatural world was once again showing its strange side.
’How many people would fall into the seawater without even realizing the danger?’
After Faye Yardley told her brother and Zachary Pierce about Willow’s discovery, she also sent a reminder in their small group chat.
’As for the regional channel, let them handle the warning. I don’t want to stick my neck out and attract attention.’
Come to think of it, Hailey Miles had been very quiet lately. Faye hadn’t seen her post on the public channel. She didn’t really look herself, but Willow paid attention, and even she hadn’t seen Hailey say anything.
’Right, I just need to get an Invasion Card.’
She placed an anonymous buy order for an Invasion Card on the trading platform.
She didn’t want to ask Zachary Pierce and the others for one, not wanting to jeopardize the friendly relations they had painstakingly established.
’Though I might just be overthinking things.’
As long as Hailey Miles wasn’t dealt with for good, she would remain a thorn in Faye’s side, pricking her whenever the thought arose.
However, since the ice below was melting, there was no need for her to wait and pick the right time anymore.
Faye Yardley took out the green Island Entry Order and confirmed its use without hesitation.
[You have activated a Refined Island Entry Order. You will arrive at the island in 3 hours. Enjoy your trip!]
Then, in a completely unbelievable fashion, the raft began to drift in a set direction.
Eamon rushed out of the planting room. "So it’s really moving!"
The raft drifted forward quickly. After watching for a short while, Faye Yardley joined Yvonne Lynch in jogging on the raft.
Meanwhile, Tyson Landon, who was rushing back to his own raft from Logan Langdon’s, felt like his eyes were playing tricks on him. How could such a huge raft be moving so fast, breaking right through the ice?
"Holy shit! There’s no ice left where that raft passed! My way back...!"
A channel of azure seawater now lay before him.
Faye Yardley’s raft’s path also passed by Logan Langdon’s raft. Luckily, it didn’t crash directly into it, but the distance was less than a meter.
Their gazes met for an instant. Faye Yardley flashed him a cheerful smile.
To Logan Langdon, however, her smile seemed to mock him. He had, after all, told her that if she couldn’t find a way to leave this patch of sea, she might as well join his team.
And now...
Logan Langdon’s mood soured as he watched the raft recede into the distance.
"Gorgeous Yardley, what method did you use to make the raft move?"
Faye Yardley pursed her lips when she saw the message, but she didn’t bother hiding it. "With an Island Entry Order."
Logan Langdon’s brow furrowed at her reply. ’Island Entry Order? What’s that?’
As he’d thought, no one who thrived in this survival game was ever simple.
Logan Langdon guessed that Faye Yardley must be listed anonymously on the raft leaderboard.
After running lap after lap on the raft, Yvonne Lynch was already drenched in sweat and panting for breath, but seeing that Faye Yardley was still running, she gritted her teeth and forced herself to keep up.
Faye Yardley was just running out of habit. She didn’t pay attention to whether Yvonne Lynch was keeping up or even still running.
As she ran on, she gradually realized that there was a limit to how much her physical conditioning could improve from running alone.
So she slowly came to a stop, regulated her breathing, and then began practicing her fist techniques.
’After all, the Basic Martial Arts directly instilled by the system were still in my head.’
Two and a half hours later, a thin layer of mist appeared on the ocean ahead.
Faye Yardley finished a complete set of her Palm Technique before concluding her practice and looking ahead. ’Time really flies,’ she thought. ’It feels like we’re there in the blink of an eye.’
"Sister, let’s have some breakfast first. It’s already eight-ten."
"Oh, I haven’t even had breakfast yet? I thought it was almost time for lunch."
"That’s because you woke up so early, Sister."
’No kidding. Four hours have already passed.’
’In my past life, if I had been this diligent, I could have gotten into any top university in the country.’
While eating breakfast, Yvonne Lynch asked with eyes full of expectation, "Sister, can I go to the island with you later?"
"Of course you can. With Willow and Eamon to hold down the fort, you can come with me to check out the island."
"Okay! Thank you, Sister."
She started eating much faster.
The raft passed through the mist, and all sorts of sounds could be heard. Faye Yardley stared at the bustling harbor town that suddenly appeared before her, lost in a daze.
