Chapter 205: Chapter 205: One Step Ahead of Second and Third

Faye Yardley bought another 19 Backpack Expansion × 10 Diagrams at 1,000 points each. This brought her backpack to the maximum of 300 slots, with no further expansion possible.

She also acquired a warehouse construction diagram and two warehouse expansion diagrams.

She planned to move some important items into this new warehouse, and she wouldn’t be granting access to Willow Yardley.

’Something completely and exclusively hers. Just the thought of it made her happy.’

’Of course, strictly speaking, even Willow Yardley belonged to her, but she had always treated Willow as an independent individual.’

’They could be close, but not without boundaries.’

After all that, her points had dropped to just 11,000.

’She had thought she had so many points she could never spend them all, but it turned out a casual shopping spree was enough to nearly deplete them.’

’Oh, right. Now that she had a breeding room, she needed to buy some livestock like cattle, sheep, and pigs, as well as poultry like chickens and ducks. Maybe even some freshwater fish, shrimp, and crabs.’

’She still had points to spare. Should she get some furniture to make her life more comfortable?’

’A TV would be useless. It would just be for show, at best serving as a monitor for the public chat.’

[Ding~ Congratulations player, your raft has been upgraded to max level. A server-wide announcement is imminent. Do you wish to remain anonymous?]

"No."

’Everyone already knows I’m number one on the points leaderboard. They shouldn’t be too surprised that I was the first to spend my points on an upgrade.’

[Server-wide Announcement: Congratulations to player Faye Yardley from Veridia for being the first to upgrade her raft to the max Level 10. Special Reward: Reputation +1000, Free Attribute Points +3] ×3

She allocated all her attribute points to Spirit, bringing her spirit value to 28. With the two-point bonus from the leaderboard, her Spirit instantly hit 30, and her mind felt sharper than ever.

[Server-wide Announcement: Congratulations to player Logan Langdon from Veridia for being the second to upgrade his raft to the max Level 10. Special Reward: Reputation +800, Free Attribute Points +2] ×3

[Server-wide Announcement: Congratulations to player Helen from Solon for being the third to upgrade her raft to the max Level 10. Special Reward: Reputation +500, Free Attribute Point +1] ×3

"Hahahaha..."

Faye Yardley looked at the golden system announcement and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

’What can I say? I was just a second or two faster than them. I’m number one!’

’If I’m not even happy about this, then the second and third place winners must be about to explode with rage!’

As expected, a message from Logan Langdon arrived quickly. "Congratulations, Gorgeous Yardley. Looks like I was just one step behind you this time."

As the victor, Faye Yardley felt she should be a little humble. "You’re too kind, Mr. Langdon. It was just a stroke of luck."

"This is more than just luck. You’re truly incredible, Gorgeous Yardley."

Faye Yardley raised an eyebrow and replied with a smiley emoji, ending the conversation. She could just imagine how furious Logan Langdon was and decided not to poke the bear.

Although the raft was still in its Goliath form, it had grown bulkier. The max level upgrade had surprisingly given it two decks, an upper and a lower, each with 2,000 square meters of usable space.

On the lower deck, Faye Yardley partitioned off a one-hundred-square-meter room for herself. She placed her private warehouse inside, then bought a massive, curved sofa and set it up beside the storage units.

She transferred the remaining Energy Stones, Talent Stones, Mysterious Fish, golden petals, and various Dungeon Invitation Cards, fragments, and so on to this warehouse.

As long as she was on the raft, she could access items from her warehouse from anywhere. Placing it here was purely for her own peace of mind, making her feel more secure.

After she finished the transfer, she granted Willow Yardley full access to the warehouse on the upper deck.

She hadn’t decided what to do with the rest of the lower deck yet; the upper deck alone was already more than enough space for her.

She arranged the pond, small garden, and pavilion on the deck just as she had envisioned, extending from the balcony.

Eamon and Willow Yardley felt much more comfortable after the raft was successfully upgraded.

Now, they watched as the raft not only grew taller but also gained a green, park-like space along its perimeter.

Faye Yardley, however, had a more complete view; she even saw the words ’[Can Be Hidden]’ in the raft’s Attributes.

This was because she had used the white Light Energy Group during the upgrade.

According to the system’s explanation, selecting this option would simply prevent other intelligent beings on the ocean’s surface from spotting her raft with the naked eye.

Even if it could still be found through other means of detection, this was a remarkable feature.

Moreover, its defensive capabilities had been significantly enhanced.

Its security had improved immensely.

Faye Yardley herself was extremely satisfied. And besides, it wasn’t anyone else’s place to complain about her raft anyway.

"Willow, prepare some fruit, snacks, and drinks. I’ll be hosting my brother and the others in the small garden later."

After speaking, Faye Yardley sent an invitation to her group chat: "Hey everyone, if you’re done spending your points and don’t have anything else going on, I’d like to invite you over for an hour. Raise your hand if you have time to come."

She also told Zachary Pierce that she had finished redeeming everything she wanted, so he should just spend his points on himself.

Since she had even completed her upgrade, Zachary Pierce believed that she really didn’t need anything for the time being.

As far as Faye Yardley was concerned, it was just a small get-together with people she had reconnected with.

Because it was nighttime, she also set up a few stylishly designed street lamps.

Not long after the Invitation Cards were sent out, people began to arrive one after another.

Ethan Yardley had things to say to his sister, but with so many people around, he just took a quick look at the changes to the raft and didn’t ask for details.

Kyle Lewis looked at the exhausted Bonnie Callahan. "Miss Bonnie, what happened to you? Don’t just stand there, go have a seat."

"I’m fine, just a little tired from frantically salvaging junk all day." After all, Bonnie Callahan had slept through a whole event day, so not only did she have to cram two days’ worth of work into one, but she also had to frantically repair her raft.

Her little partner, the Green Sprite, seemed to have taken some of the damage for her and hadn’t woken up yet.

’As I thought, I shouldn’t have been so greedy. I should have listened to the system’s warning. Now I just want to apologize to Faye Yardley in person, but I don’t even know if what I did affected her.’

When she saw Faye just now and started to apologize, Faye had simply smiled and told her to get some rest first. She was quite grateful for that.

’She wasn’t sure what she was grateful for, exactly. Only that it seemed like her actions hadn’t affected Faye Yardley at all.’

After Leah Chandler arrived and said her hellos, she headed toward her son. She wanted to explain things clearly to him in person; with less than a week left, she really couldn’t drag it out any longer.

"Boss, you can’t just call this a raft anymore, can you? It’s so cool!" Gavin Donovan was as direct as ever.

Faye Yardley laughed. "Of course not. What level is your raft now? Didn’t you get enough points to upgrade during the event?"

"I got it to Level 8. The rest have to go toward our guild-building efforts with everyone else."

"Oh? Have you guys worked out your guild’s contribution system?"

"You’d have to ask our leader about that. I’m not clear on the details."

Faye Yardley nodded. "Your senior’s arrived. Can you help me host him for a bit? I’m going to go check on the others."
