Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Upgrading and Remodeling the Raft

Faye Yardley didn’t care what anyone else thought. The points were spent, and that was that. She honestly didn’t know what else she needed.

’Oh, right. I should upgrade my planting room again.’

So she immediately searched for a High Level Planting Room Upgrade Coupon.

Spending 100,000 points on a High Level Planting Room Upgrade Coupon was a trivial expense for her now. She bought it and used it on the spot.

Surprisingly, the Point Shop didn’t have any upgrade blueprints for the training room, which made Faye Yardley want to leave a bad review.

"Faye, have some hot and sour seafood soup, and try this stir-fried cabbage."

"Okay." Faye took a sip of soup and said to Eamon, "I just upgraded the planting room to High Level."

Eamon’s eyes lit up. "That’s great! I’m going to eat faster so I can go see it. Now we can plant your Green Peony Seeds. It’s two stories now!"

The changes to the planting room were clearly visible from the kitchen window.

Eamon quickly finished his food, unable to wait. "Willow, sorry to leave the cleaning to you, but I’m going to go take a look!"

With that, he ran off.

"By the way, Willow, is there anything you particularly want? I have plenty of points left, so I can get it for you."

Willow Yardley shook her head repeatedly. "I don’t want anything. You’ve already given me so much, Faye."

Faye exclaimed, "Oh, right. I’ll get a deluxe stable for Bella. Willow, you should look too. Don’t be shy about telling me what you want."

"Okay."

There really was a blueprint for a deluxe stable. It wasn’t cheap, costing 5,000 points—same as the deluxe birdcage blueprint. Faye Yardley bought both. ’The Green Egg hasn’t hatched yet, but it’s probably a bird, right?’

’I’ll get it ready in advance, so it’ll have its own home as soon as it hatches.’

She placed the stable next to the planting room; she felt the area with the thatched shed was getting a little too crowded.

She stored the birdcage blueprint in her inventory, ready to use once the egg hatched.

Faye browsed the Point Shop while she ate.

To be honest, there was a lot of stuff, but it wasn’t much different from the regular Point Shop. In fact, some things were completely absent; for example, there wasn’t a single blueprint for an automated production workshop. There were, however, plenty of single-use blueprints.

She casually bought some clothes and shoes for the three of them, as well as some seeds and saplings.

Willow suggested, "Faye, what about setting up a basic livestock room? I can take care of it. If you think it’s too much trouble, we can start with just a few animals. You have enough points and aren’t sure what to spend them on anyway, so we might as well build it. We can raise some cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks—things you like to eat. I know your brother has some, but it’s always more convenient to have our own."

Faye Yardley nodded. "You have a point. The blueprint for a basic livestock room is ten thousand points, and a basic upgrade coupon is thirty thousand. We can spend forty thousand points to set one up and raise a few animals. It just means more work for you, having to take care of them every day."

No sooner said than done. She redeemed the items and placed the new livestock room in a corner, in line with the stable.

Then she bought another 10 High Level Planting Pots and 50 cubic meters of fertile soil.

Next, she checked the system for the materials required to upgrade the raft to Level 9.

It required 100,000 wood alone, which would only cost 10,000 points to exchange for. For Faye Yardley, this was no burden at all.

Even with the other basic materials required, Faye Yardley honestly had more than enough.

So, for a total of about 40,000 points, she successfully upgraded the raft to Level 9.

The external form of the Level 9 raft was still the Goliath she had chosen at Level 8. Only now, the Goliath was larger, its defenses were stronger, and the total usable area had expanded to 2,000 square meters.

’I don’t know what else to use my points on anyway. The raft’s max level is only 10, so I might as well max it out.’

If the upgrade from Level 8 to 9 only cost 40,000 points, the cost from 9 to 10 grew exponentially. She spent a whopping 200,000 points just exchanging for various basic materials. On top of that, the upgrade didn’t just require basic materials—it also needed Energy Stones.

In addition to the Energy Stones, one other item could be placed as a power source for the upgrade.

Without a second thought, Faye Yardley placed a Light Energy Group, which was emitting a soft white glow, into the slot.

This upgrade wasn’t going to be finished in just a few minutes. On the system screen, Faye Yardley could see her raft was now shrouded in a thick mist. The sounds of hammering and clanging echoed from it, but being at the center of it all, she didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary.

Willow Yardley and Eamon, however, felt things very differently. They both sensed a terrifying pressure. If not for their close connection to Faye Yardley, they probably would have been expelled from the raft.

’Now that I’ve maxed out the raft’s level, I can’t keep hosting guests in that old thatched shed,’ Faye thought. ’I should renovate that area.’

’I’ll just build a small garden with a pond and replace the shed with a pavilion. Even though we’re surrounded by the vast sea, it would be wonderful to have a clear spring on my own raft, grow a few lotuses, and even go for a swim in my spare time.’

Faye pictured the view from the balcony’s French doors: flowers, trees, and clear water, with the sea and sky melting into one on the horizon. The thought alone was beautiful.

She went ahead and used her points to redeem all the items for the design she’d envisioned, ready to use them as soon as the raft upgrade was complete.

’As for spending Zachary Pierce’s points, that was completely unnecessary now.’

’But there’s no hurry to refuse him. By the time we’re supposed to meet, my raft’s renovation will be done. I can tell him then.’

She hadn’t even finished her meal when a call came from her brother.

"Faye, you just spent a massive amount of points all at once. Do you have enough left? Is there anything you want? Just tell me, and your big brother will get it for you."

Faye Yardley pointed at the food in front of her. "Have you eaten, bro? Also, you’re all filthy. Don’t tell me you haven’t even showered? Points? I have more than I can spend. Don’t you worry about me. Why don’t you take this chance to upgrade your own raft to max level?"

"You upgraded to max level?"

"Yep. How about I invite you guys over for a visit once it’s done? You can see a max-level raft for yourself."

"Okay. We’ll talk when we meet, then."

’Speaking of guests...’ Faye thought she should probably redeem a couple of tea plants and coffee trees. They were her favorite drinks, after all. ’If I don’t treat myself well now, when will I?’

She searched for Invitation Cards in the event’s Point Shop. The entire country was now a single zone, which meant that same-zone Invitation Cards had become much more useful.

However, the shop only had one-hour and two-hour Invitation Cards; the four-hour and eight-hour versions were nowhere in sight.

For Faye Yardley, one or two hours was plenty. After all, she was just inviting them over to have a look.

She checked her points balance: still over 80,000. It gave her the surreal feeling that she could never spend it all.

So, when she saw that one-hour same-zone Invitation Cards were only 100 points each, she bought a stack of 20. The two-hour cards were 200 points, so she bought 20 of those, too.

She bought 100 vials of Inner Injury Holy Medicine at 100 points each. Then she bought 1,000 vials each of the Physical Potions and Energy Potions, which were only 10 points apiece.

She also redeemed plenty of Bandages and Hemostatic Pills.
