Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Politeness? Just Attack.
Leo Sloan: Yes, the group leader and Pierce are right. Don’t give up hope. You saw your mom, and I saw my wife. Everything will get better.
Kyle Lewis: Mmm-hmm.
Faye Yardley chatted with them for a bit, finished her tea, and then went straight to sleep.
She woke up early the next morning, feeling refreshed and clear-headed.
Her daily training couldn’t be skipped.
This time, after coming out of the training room and drinking another cup of Golden Petal Tea, the system suddenly prompted: [Agility +1]. Faye Yardley froze for a moment, but she couldn’t suppress the smile spreading across her face.
Now she only needed one more point in Strength and Agility for all her Attributes to break the 20-point mark.
"Let’s go! Work hard! You’re the best!"
After cheering herself on, all of Faye Yardley’s post-training fatigue was swept away.
She sat in meditation to practice the Health Care Scripture.
The Health Care Scripture was indeed very effective. After just two Grand Circulations, her energy and stamina were fully restored, and even the minor damage to her internal organs and meridians from over-training had been repaired.
She wanted to teach her brother the Health Care Scripture, but for some reason, she couldn’t convey it no matter how she tried. The moment she prepared to teach it to someone else, she found herself unable to speak or write.
As long as she wasn’t thinking about teaching the Health Care Scripture to others, she had no problem saying that she’d accidentally obtained a very effective scripture for nourishing her body.
After several failed attempts, she had no choice but to give up on the idea of directly teaching her brother. She could only have him learn the special breathing method taught by Gavin Donovan, but her brother was also strange—he could understand it as soon as it was taught, but fail the moment he tried to practice it himself.
It wasn’t until Tiberius arrived that he explained her brother had a special constitution and wasn’t suited for ordinary Cultivation Methods.
All she could say was that everyone had their own destiny. Even though Faye Yardley worried about her brother, she could only let him explore his own path of Cultivation.
After completing three Grand Circulations of the Health Care Scripture, Faye Yardley got up, ate a hearty breakfast, and then took a leisurely stroll to the planting room to check on her crops.
When Eamon saw her enter, he immediately ran over. "Sister, the red dates can be picked today! The white peonies are planted over there. Look, the flowers are so pretty."
Following Eamon’s finger, Faye Yardley saw a patch of beautiful blooming white peonies and praised him, "Eamon, you really have a green thumb. The flowers are gorgeous."
As she spoke, she walked over, plucked one, and tucked it beside her hair bun.
Willow Yardley: "It looks so pretty on you, Sister. The saying ’more beautiful than any flower’ must be about you."
Just then, Faye Yardley received an invitation from her uncle to be a guest.
Faye Yardley raised an eyebrow, but since she had promised her brother yesterday, she didn’t make a fuss and accepted the invitation directly.
The scene flashed and changed. Faye Yardley scanned her surroundings on the raft. ’Looks like Uncle is doing pretty well for himself. His raft is already Level 6.’
An arrogant-looking woman approached from the side, ordering Faye Yardley around in a bossy tone. "You must be Faye. Why are you wearing a white flower? That’s so unlucky. You should take it off."
Faye Yardley ignored her completely and turned to a gentle-looking, middle-aged man standing to the side with a kind smile. She took the initiative to greet him, "Uncle."
Jefferson Yardley looked at his niece. She was dressed in a simple white tracksuit and clean white sneakers. Her complexion was rosy and glowing, and she didn’t seem the least bit uncomfortable. ’It seems this niece of mine is surviving quite well in The Survival World.’
"Faye, you’re here. Ethan should be arriving shortly. Go on into the living room and have a seat. It’s still early, but the sun is strong. It wouldn’t do for a girl to get a tan."
"It’s fine. A darker complexion looks healthier, just like this lady here," Faye Yardley said with a light chuckle.
In truth, she was uniquely blessed. After more than a month at sea, she hadn’t gotten tanned at all. Her milky-white skin made her look like a fairy.
This was one of the reasons the arrogant woman disliked her. In a world where no one had skincare products, how could Faye Yardley remain unchanged, as beautiful as she was in the peaceful world before?
Although Jefferson Yardley didn’t like his cousin, he liked his niece even less. "Faye, don’t be rude. This is your cousin."
"Pretty sister, hello, I’m..."
"Faye, you’re here already! Uncle, Cousin, hello. I brought a small gift." Ethan Yardley arrived to see his sister and the others nearby. He walked straight to her side and took two large blocks of ice from his backpack.
"Pretty sister, I..."
Seeing the two large blocks of ice, the smile on Jefferson Yardley’s face became much more sincere. "Ethan, you shouldn’t have. There’s no need to be so formal. Come on, let’s go inside."
As he spoke, he put the ice blocks into his backpack. If he left them out, they would start to melt, and that would be a waste.
Sensing someone approaching and reaching out to grab her, Faye Yardley swiftly dodged to her brother’s other side. The person’s hand missed completely, and they stumbled forward.
Faye was annoyed. ’People with no sense of personal space are irritating, even when they act all innocent.’
The cousin grabbed the chubby teenager to steady him, immediately launching into an accusation. "Faye Yardley, do you have any manners at all? It’s one thing to ignore Cody Shepherd when he’s trying to say hello, but what’s the meaning of making him almost fall over!"
Just as Faye Yardley was about to speak, Ethan Yardley stepped in front of her, his face dark. "Cousin, since you’re so concerned with politeness, why don’t you just take care of the chubby boy yourself? There’s no need to involve my Faye."
"Some people have fathers but no mothers to teach them manners..."
SLAP!
The crisp sound of a slap stunned everyone.
Faye Yardley’s slap not only made her cousin’s face swell up but also knocked out two of her teeth, sending a spray of blood from her mouth.
The cousin was stunned. When she came to her senses, she lunged at Faye Yardley with a crazed look on her face, screaming, "AHHHH! I’ll kill you!"
But Faye Yardley simply kicked her, sending her flying.
Cody Shepherd, who seemed a bit slow, actually started clapping. "Wow, pretty sister is so strong! So strong!"
"Faye, you..."
The door opened, and a girl waved at them. "Dad, what’s wrong? Isn’t it hot out here? Everyone, come on inside. Brother, Faye, you’re here! Come in, quick."
Felicity Yardley also completely ignored the cousin wailing on the ground and the clueless chubby boy.
Faye Yardley had thought that after resorting to physical violence, things were completely ruined. But then her other cousin had appeared.
"Ahem... Ethan, Faye, why don’t you go inside first. Your cousin probably didn’t understand the situation and her words were a bit harsh. Don’t take it to heart. Cody, you go into the living room and have some tea." After speaking, Jefferson Yardley went over to help his cousin up. He then said something to her, and the cousin’s figure disappeared.
Faye Yardley hadn’t expected her uncle to actually send his cousin away instead of them.
