Chapter 225: Getting kidnapped... willingly

"Sweety don’t tell me you really are marrying Princess Yunning? Didn’t Mum say you should pay your dues to those who are indebted to us? Didn’t I explain it to you clearly?" she said seeming very irritable.

King Luo snapped out of it and replied, "No, I love Lin Lin. I will marry him but he was poisoned by Yunning and I don’t know what else to do," he said his voice cracking a little. At this point, he didn’t care if it was a dream or not. He just wanted someone to talk to.

The pain was unbearable. It was too much for him to bottle up inside. He let it all out but instead of his mother comforting him or giving him a solution she laughed softly.

For a moment he just stared at her with some confusion in his heart. Bahamut saw his confusion and said, "Honey you just gave him the one thing that could heal him. One good night’s sleep and he will be okay. Now stop looking so sad."

King Luo, "..."

"Is this a dream?" he asked and his mother was about to respond when his dad said,

"It is if you want it to be."

What kind of response was that? Bahamut didn’t like her husband’s response so she whispered, "Why would you say that?"

The man whispered something barely audible. All King Luo heard was, "... visit often..."

He was done with these two irresponsible parents. He just wanted to wake up and be with the person who loved him more than these two. Just as the mere thought of him waking up crossed his mind, his eyes suddenly opened and for a moment he was in a daze.

When her son disappeared, Bahamut angrily glared at her husband. She stood up from his lap and was about to storm off but her wrist was caught and she was pulled back.

She fell back into his lap and his palms gently pushed the hair on her cheek away from her face his fingertips pressing into her scalp. "You know he can’t stay that long and you can’t leave as well. Your injuries won’t heal for another century," he said and Bahamut stopped being mad but that didn’t mean she couldn’t complain.

"I just wanted to spend some more time with him. You could have at least been nicer," she said before her lips were kissed passionately. She was kissed until she was breathless and in a daze. When she opened her eyes she was already on the large bed her clothes a dishevelled mess.

King Luo awoke to the golden rays of sunlight seeping through the curtains in his chambers, casting a warm glow upon the room. Still groggy from sleep, he reached out beside him only to find an icy emptiness. Confusion and panic washed over him as he realised that the person he held dear was no longer by his side. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

He rose from the bed in a frenzy, his heart pounding in his chest. He scanned the room, desperately searching for any sign of his lover.

But Qie Xieling was nowhere to be found. His absence only heightened the king’s unease and he frantically began his search, checking every nook and cranny of his chambers.

Just as King Luo was about to call out Qie Xieling’s name, he heard muffled voices coming from the study room adjacent to the bedroom. The familiar sound of Qie Xieling’s voice and another voice, belonging to Jolie, reached his ears. Curiosity mingled with the growing anxiety within him, urging him to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"So are you going to tell him that you will leave?" Jolie’s voice questioned, causing the king’s heart to skip a beat. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He thought that Qie Xieling was here to stay but here he was discussing plans to leave him.

"I don’t know," Qie Xieling replied, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "How does one find the words to tell someone so attached to them, that they might leave without warning?"

King Luo took a step back, and his world instantly shattered. Qie Xieling was really thinking of leaving him, the realisation crashing down upon him with a wave of sorrow. His foot accidentally collided with a coffee table, causing a slight commotion. The hushed conversation behind the door ceased immediately.

Worried something was wrong, Qie Xieling swiftly opened the door upon hearing the sound. To his surprise, he found King Luo still lying silently in bed as though he hadn’t moved an inch.

King Luo was lying motionless in bed, a façade of deep slumber concealing his pain. Qie Xieling approached with trepidation, unaware that King Luo was awake. Tenderly, Qie Xieling knelt beside the bed, his chin resting gently upon its edge. His eyes filled with tender affection for King Luo’s striking features, his fingers entwined with the strands of his hair.

A torrent of emotions surged within King Luo as Qie Xieling’s affectionate gaze met his closed lids. Fearing the intensity of his possessiveness springing up and showing Qie Xieling his true nature, he forced himself to remain still, maintaining the guise of sleep. His heart ached, tortured by the knowledge that Qie Xieling wanted to leave him. He wanted to ask why but he was afraid to know the answer.

Finally, Qie Xieling climbed on the bed and slid his arm around King Luo’s waist his nose brushing up against King Luo’s nape.

The movements ceased behind him, and King Luo opened his eyes. A possessiveness so profound emanated from his gaze that it could drive others to flee in terror. Yet, with a determined will, King Luo closed his eyes once more, suppressing the overwhelming sensation that surged within him.

There was no way he was letting Qie Xieling leave. This was his future queen. He vowed to do whatever it takes to keep him here. The turmoil in his heart settled as he pulled Qie Xieling’s arm closer and further shuffled into his deep embrace.

Qie Xieling had told himself that he was going to fall asleep for a few minutes but a few minutes turned to hours. He loved cuddling with King Luo so much. He was so cool and cuddly making him a perfect aircon for hot summers. When Qie Xieling turned to sleep on his side he felt like he was sleeping on a fluffy cloud. In his sleep, he felt like he wouldn’t hate it living like a rice weevil for the rest of his life with King Luo taking good care of him.
