Chapter 119: Alpha Nicholas Wants You To Come To His Room
The plates slipped from Lilith’s hands the moment she set them down on the kitchen counter.
They clattered against the stainless steel with a sound that echoed through the space, drawing the attention of the other kitchen staff. One of the plates cracked—a thin line running through the ceramic that suggested it would need replacing.
Lilith stared at the broken plate, her mind still trapped in the Blackwood quarters. Still seeing Lucian’s bare chest. Still feeling the weight of all three of their gazes on her. Still mortified by her own body’s response to their presence.
"Lilith."
She jerked at the sound of her name.
Callum stood in the kitchen doorway, his expression professional but with an undercurrent of something that suggested he understood exactly what state she was in.
"Alpha Nicholas wants you to come to his room," he said simply.
Lilith’s entire body went rigid.
"Why?" The word came out as barely more than a whisper, and her voice carried the edge of horror. "Why does the alpha want me to come to his room?"
Callum’s expression didn’t change. "I don’t know. I was just instructed to bring you to his room."

Lilith’s mind immediately spiraled into a thousand possibilities, all of them involving the intimacy that had been carefully building since the moment she’d stepped into their quarters that morning. All of them involving her body’s continued betrayal of her will.
She washed her hands mechanically, her movements stiff and uncertain. The other kitchen staff were pretending not to watch her, but she could feel their curiosity. Could feel the questions forming about why an omega was being summoned to an alpha’s private quarters in the middle of the day.
"This way," Callum said, gesturing toward the corridor.
The walk felt endless.
Each step toward the Blackwood quarters seemed to take longer than the last. Her legs felt unsteady. Her heart was racing so hard she was certain Callum could hear it. The anticipation was suffocating, a mixture of fear and something else, something darker and more complicated that she refused to name.
When they reached Nicholas’s door, Callum called out: "I have brought Lilith, Alpha."
Silence.
He repeated the call. Called out Nicholas’s name. Still nothing.
Lilith’s anxiety ratcheted up another notch. Was this a trick? Was this part of whatever game they were playing with her?
Callum turned to her, his expression sympathetic but unmoved. "The alpha is probably in the bathroom. You should enter and wait for him in his room."
"Is it okay if I enter without his permission?" Lilith asked, her voice small and uncertain. "Wouldn’t it be better if I wait out here for his call?"
"Please enter," Callum said, his tone gentle but firm. "The instructions were to bring you to his room."
There was no arguing with that. Lilith reached for the door handle with a trembling hand and pushed it open.
Nicholas’s private quarters were exactly as she’d imagined them...expensive, controlled, impeccable. Everything reflected the alpha’s personality: refined, powerful, precise. A large bed dominated one side of the room. Bookshelves lined the walls. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the compound grounds.
The door closed behind her with a soft click.
She was alone.
Lilith stood uncertainly in the center of the room, unsure where to position herself. Should she sit? Should she stand? Should she look at the books? The question felt absurd given the circumstances, but her anxiety needed something to focus on other than the reality of where she was and why.
The sound of the bathroom door opening made her entire body go rigid.
Nicholas stepped out, and Lilith’s breath caught so sharply she almost choked.
He was wearing only a towel.
A single towel hung low on his waist...precariously low, positioned in a way that suggested the slightest movement would dislodge it entirely, and she would see the rest of his body that she was so familiar with. His entire torso was exposed: defined muscles still glistening with moisture from the shower, droplets of water running down his chest and disappearing into the fabric of the towel. His dark hair was damp, clinging to his forehead and neck. His skin was flushed from the heat of the shower.
He looked like a portrait of raw, masculine power.
Lilith’s eyes locked on him and couldn’t look away.
Her breathing became shallow and rapid. Her nipples hardened painfully against her uniform, pressing against the thin fabric in a way that was completely unmistakable. Heat flooded between her legs with such intensity that she felt immediately dizzy.

She was mortified. Completely and utterly mortified by her own body’s response.
But she couldn’t stop it. Couldn’t control it. Couldn’t do anything except stand there and experience the full physical manifestation of her attraction to him.
Nicholas didn’t seem surprised by her presence, didn’t seem concerned that she was staring at his half-naked body like she’d never seen a man before. He moved with the casual confidence of someone completely comfortable with his own power, completely aware of the effect he was having.
"I need your help with something," he said, his voice smooth and unhurried, as if he wasn’t standing there in nothing but a towel. "I need to choose what to wear for the Summit events today. Help me sort through my clothes."
It took Lilith a moment to process the words. When she did, she moved on legs that felt like they might give out at any moment.
The wardrobe was positioned along one wall, a massive structure containing dozens of expensive shirts, trousers, and jackets. Lilith opened it and began pulling out options, trying to focus on the task rather than on the fact that he was still standing there, still mostly naked, still radiating an intensity that made the air feel charged.
She selected several shirts...all expensive, all perfectly tailored, and a few pairs of trousers. She laid them out on the bed, her movements stiff and mechanical.
Then she turned to walk back to him with the first outfit option.
And stopped dead.
He was standing directly behind her.
