Chapter 363: Chapter 142: Sweep
The Main Peak Steward raised his hand, opening the iron cage. He then circulated his Inner Qi, unleashing an invisible force that pressed down on the Silver Wolf, forcibly driving it out.
The moment the Silver Wolf stepped out of the cage, it arched its back and dropped into an aggressive stance, ready to pounce.
Its limbs tensed as its sharp claws dug deep into the bluestone of the high platform, leaving several distinct marks. Its icy blue eyes locked onto Yang Jing while a low growl rumbled in its throat. Every strand of silver fur on its body stood on end, radiating an aura of extreme danger.
「The next moment.」
The Silver Wolf kicked off the ground, its body lurching forward at an astonishing speed. It became a silver phantom, leaving only faint afterimages in its wake as it pounced on Yang Jing, slicing through the air with a piercing shriek.
Yang Jing’s expression tightened. ’So fast,’ he thought, a chill running down his spine.
’This Silver Wolf is just too fast. Even with my Raging Wave Leg Technique trained to the Huajin realm and my Body Technique being exceptionally quick, I’m still a notch slower than it. I can’t possibly dodge this completely.’
In the span of a single breath, the Silver Wolf had crossed dozens of feet, appearing before Yang Jing in a flash.
Its sharp claws tore through the air with a piercing sound, slashing viciously for Yang Jing’s neck. The attack was swift and brutal, leaving no time to react.
Below the high platform, the faces of the many outer-sect disciples paled at the sight. They let out sharp gasps, their faces filled with utter shock.
They were horrified. ’The Silver Wolf’s speed is beyond anything we could imagine,’ they thought. ’If we were on that platform, we’d never be able to react to such a swift attack. We’d be utterly defenseless.’
...
On the high platform, Yang Jing watched the Silver Wolf charge him like a bolt of silver lightning, and his mind became perfectly clear.
’I’m a step slower than the Silver Wolf. If I retreat now, it will seize the opening, and I’ll be forced onto the defensive with no chance to counterattack.’
’Once I’m on the back foot against a foe this fast, I’ll be constrained at every turn and inevitably face defeat.’
At this thought, a sharp, cold glint flashed in Yang Jing’s eyes. Without the slightest hesitation, he didn’t retreat. Instead, he dug his feet into the ground and launched himself forward.
He fully activated his Raging Wave Leg Technique, his body instantly accelerating as he charged straight at the Silver Wolf. His aura sharpened, radiating a relentless, do-or-die ferocity.
The Silver Wolf had expected Yang Jing to dodge in a panic and was completely caught off guard by his counter-charge. It froze for an instant, bewilderment flashing in its eyes, clearly startled by his sudden advance.
But its innate ferocity was already roused. After a brief moment of shock, savagery replaced the bewilderment in its eyes, and its claws continued their trajectory toward Yang Jing’s neck.
Simultaneously, it snapped open its cavernous maw, revealing a mouth full of gleaming white fangs. A putrid stench wafted out as it lunged for Yang Jing’s neck, intent on tearing out his throat in a single bite.
The distance between them closed in an instant. The moment Yang Jing drew near, the Silver Wolf’s fangs were inches from him.
Yang Jing’s eyes narrowed. Continuing his advance, he shot out both arms, his hands clamping onto the Silver Wolf’s upper and lower jaw like iron pincers. His fingers dug deep into the flesh at the corners of its mouth, and with immense strength, he held its jaws wide open.
The Silver Wolf sensed something was wrong and immediately strained to snap its mouth shut, its sharp teeth nearly grazing Yang Jing’s fingers.
But Yang Jing’s arms were as solid as bedrock. Not only did he avoid being bitten, but he began to pull in the opposite direction, prying its mouth open and forcefully preventing it from closing.
Thoroughly enraged, the Silver Wolf let out a savage roar. It thrashed wildly, its sharp claws raking viciously at Yang Jing’s chest and arms. The whistling claws instantly shredded his green robes.
With a series of sharp RIPS, Yang Jing’s green robe was torn to shreds. Strips of cloth flew through the air, revealing the solid flesh and muscle underneath.
The Silver Wolf’s claws carved several bloody gashes across his body. Blood welled up instantly, trickling down his skin and staining the tattered robe red.
But to Yang Jing, these were nothing more than insignificant flesh wounds.
Ever since he had trained his Indestructible True Skill to the Huajin realm, his physical body had been tempered until it was exceptionally durable, far surpassing that of an ordinary Huajin Martial Artist.
Though the Silver Wolf’s claws were sharp, they could only injure his flesh. They were completely unable to reach muscle and bone, much less affect his fighting ability.
The stinging pain from his wounds did not make Yang Jing flinch; instead, it fully unleashed the ruthlessness in his bones.
The cold glint in his eyes intensified. He unleashed the full power of his arms as his Inner Strength and vital energy surged through them to his fingertips. His strength multiplied several times over as he viciously stretched the Silver Wolf’s jaws to the sides.
With a sickening CRACK, the Silver Wolf’s jaw was torn apart. Blood gushed from its mouth, splattering across the bluestone platform in a shocking spray.
Yang Jing didn’t stop. Continuing to apply force with his arms, each hand gripping one of the Silver Wolf’s jaws, he gave a final, violent pull to either side. A piercing scream and the massive CRUNCH of shattering bone echoed as he ripped the Silver Wolf’s head in half. Brain matter and blood flew everywhere, creating an incredibly gruesome scene.
The Silver Wolf’s body, its head ripped apart, slammed heavily onto the platform. Its limbs twitched for a moment before falling completely still. Its eyes were wide and vacant, devoid of all life—a truly wretched sight.
The entire platform fell into a dead silence. Everyone was stunned by the bloody and domineering display, unable to process what they had just witnessed for a long time.
