Chapter 356: Chapter 335: Entering the Garbage Center Again

Watching his sister and Qi Xiaotian, who looked like they hadn’t seen meat in their lives, Fang Chenyi could only shake his head, speechless.

"Brother, you went out on a trip. Did you bring me back a present?"

Fang Jinjin looked at Fang Chenyi, who was still eating, and patted her full little belly as she spoke.

Fang Chenyi gave a wry smile. ’A present? This trip was practically a war zone. Where would I have found time to get you a present?’

Seeing her brother’s expression, Fang Jinjin knew he hadn’t gotten anything. With a grand wave of her hand, she patted his shoulder and said with a laugh, "I had a feeling you wouldn’t have. But don’t worry, I’ve already gotten presents for everyone."

Sure enough, after they finished eating and returned to their suite, Fang Chenyi saw a mountain of large and small bags piled up in the living room.

’Looks like this girl really bought a lot.’ He smiled and tapped his sister on the head.

"So, sis, are any of these presents for me?"

Hearing this, his sister actually nodded with great seriousness.

"Of course there is! Just a second, Brother, I’ll go get it for you to see. Tee-hee, yours is the most expensive one."

With that, Fang Jinjin skipped over toward the pile of gifts.

She rummaged through the pile for a moment, then grabbed something, hid it behind her back, and walked over.

"Tee-hee, Brother, guess what I got for you."

Seeing his sister’s sly, fox-like expression, Fang Chenyi just smiled and shook his head. ’How am I supposed to guess that?’

A very sweet smile appeared on Fang Jinjin’s lips as she brought the item out from behind her back and presented it to Fang Chenyi.

"Tee-hee! Here, Brother, this is my present to you. How about it? You like it, right? Heh heh, and remember to reimburse me for it as soon as possible, okay?"

Fang Chenyi looked at the thick stack of receipts in front of him, and the corner of his mouth twitched. ’This little rascal...’

He lovingly ruffled his sister’s hair, then said with a smile,

"No problem. And not just this time. From now on, I’ll reimburse you for all your receipts at ten times the amount. How about that? I’m a pretty great brother, aren’t I?"

As he spoke, the doorbell rang. At a signal from Fang Chenyi, Qi Xiaotian opened the door to reveal several waiters wheeling in a whole roasted camel, glistening and golden-brown.

Only then did Fang Chenyi remember that he had ordered this camel to take back for everyone to taste.

So, with a grand wave of his hand, he had the staff push the camel into his bedroom.

Seeing this, Fang Jinjin couldn’t help but ask in confusion,

"Uh, Brother, what are you putting that thing in your bedroom for?"

Fang Chenyi just chuckled at her question and said,

"I’ll sleep better with that delicious aroma, won’t I?"

Fang Jinjin rolled her eyes in exasperation. She didn’t believe her brother for a second.

He shot his sister a cheeky grin, then walked into his room.

Once inside, Fang Chenyi looked at the huge camel, still sizzling and dripping with fat. He took out his woven bag and, holding a trash grabber in one hand, clamped it onto the iron rack holding the roast camel.

In the next instant, the enormous camel vanished from the room.

Having done all this, Fang Chenyi nodded in satisfaction. ’The look on Mom and Dad’s faces when they see this giant camel will be priceless,’ he thought, pleased. ’I guess this counts as a local specialty for everyone.’

He folded the woven bag neatly, then strode out of the room.

Seeing her brother come back out, Fang Jinjin, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV, asked with some confusion,

"Brother, why are you out again?"

Fang Chenyi pointed to the door. "I’ve got to step out for a bit."

Hearing this, Qi Xiaotian immediately stood up, preparing to head out with Fang Chenyi.

After the incident on the cruise ship, Qi Xiaotian had become even more vigilant; he didn’t dare to be the least bit lax about Fang Chenyi’s safety.

But seeing this, Fang Chenyi waved him off.

"Xiaotian, you stay here. It’s not safe for Xiaojin to be alone."

Sensing Qi Xiaotian’s hesitation, Fang Chenyi smiled and added,

"Haha, what, you still don’t trust my skills? How about we have another sparring match when we get back?"

Qi Xiaotian wasn’t the least bit embarrassed by this. Although he couldn’t defeat Brother Fang in a spar, it was a different story when it came to real combat.

Qi Xiaotian was confident that if it came to a true life-or-death struggle, he had at least ten ways to take Brother Fang down.

Hearing Fang Chenyi’s words now, Qi Xiaotian thought for a moment, then cautiously walked over. He extended his hand, a silver pistol already in his palm.

"In that case, Brother Fang, you should take this. Your Desert Eagle isn’t very practical."

Fang Chenyi looked at the pistol in his hand and simply shook his head with a smile.

"No need. I’m more comfortable with the Desert Eagle."

With that, he patted Qi Xiaotian on the shoulder, then opened the door and left.

He took the elevator down, left the building, and returned to the trash collection area. The sky had already turned pitch-black. After looking around to confirm no one was watching, Fang Chenyi slipped inside.

It was brightly lit outside, but pitch-dark within. Through a few small windows, he could just vaguely make out several large dumpsters inside.

Fortunately, Fang Chenyi had come prepared; inside an emergency equipment pack in his woven bag’s space was a high-wattage headlamp.

He took it out and put it on his head, and the situation inside the room instantly became clear.

However, the light was so bright that Fang Chenyi worried he might be discovered.

So, after getting a quick look at the contents of the dumpster, he turned the headlamp off.

Relying on his memory, he quickly went to work inside the dumpster with his trash grabber.

A series of system notifications chimed in his mind.

[Host has collected one old, imported mobile phone. Triggering special system reward. Reward: 71% of Huawei Group shares. The share transfer agreement has been placed in the woven bag. Please retrieve it at your convenience.]

[Host has collected one old, imported mobile phone. System reward: 9,000 yuan. The reward has been deposited into the Host’s bank account. Please check for receipt.]

[Host has collected one old, domestically produced phone charger. System reward: 600 yuan. The reward has been deposited into the Host’s bank account. Please check for receipt.]

[Host has collected one old, imported laptop computer. System reward: 12,000 yuan. The reward has been deposited into the Host’s bank account. Please check for receipt.]

Fang Chenyi never expected that the very first item would trigger a special system reward. Moreover, he couldn’t believe an imported phone had rewarded him with shares in the Huawei Group—and such a high percentage, too.

This was completely unexpected, especially the realization that what they considered an "import" was actually from his own Great Huaxia.

And strange as it was, Fang Chenyi felt an inexplicable sense of pride.

This special reward made Fang Chenyi both happy and a bit exasperated. To be honest, he had wanted shares in a foreign corporation.

Bringing all that foreign money into Huaxia—that was the kind of thing that would be truly satisfying.

He shook his head, stopped overthinking it, and quickened his pace.

It took him nearly half an hour, but he finally collected all the electronics, which had filled a good portion of the dumpster.

After he was done, Fang Chenyi didn’t immediately start on the next dumpster. Instead, he turned on his headlamp and began inspecting them one by one.

There were far too many dumpsters here; he could never get through them all in one night. It was better to specifically look for valuable items or things that couldn’t be found back home.

After a full inspection, Fang Chenyi found to his dismay that, aside from the dumpster full of gun parts he’d found earlier, the only other things that couldn’t be found back home were in a dumpster full of bootleg movie DVDs.

The rest of the items, though meticulously sorted, were mostly ordinary. Compared to what you’d find back home, the only difference was that some of these things were merely a little old.
