Chapter 349: Chapter 330: Demo Did is Dumbfounded Again
The reason Fang Chenyi chose to hold the meeting here was purely to deter anyone from getting any funny ideas.
And so, after about ten minutes, the spacious deck was crowded with all sorts of people. There were men and women, black and white, but not a single one of them was yellow-skinned.
Seeing this only strengthened Fang Chenyi’s resolve to replace them all.
As they arrived on deck, they all wore looks of confusion.
But when they saw the three orderly formations composed entirely of Huaxia People, they began to put the pieces together. ’These men must belong to the new boss.’
They just didn’t know why the new boss had summoned them all here.
"Ah, you must be the new boss. I’m your Vice-Captain, Roselrom. I hope you’ll let this cruise ship spend plenty of time on the open sea!"
Roselrom was one of the last to arrive. Only after setting the ship’s autopilot did he walk over. When he saw Fang Chenyi in the crowd, the bearded captain instantly recognized him as his new boss.
He didn’t particularly care who his boss was. His only concern was whether the new owner would keep the cruise ship sailing on the open sea.
For him, as long as he could keep sailing the vast ocean, that was all that mattered.
Looking at the outspoken, bearded captain, Fang Chenyi felt a headache coming on.
’I can tell this guy probably isn’t a ’bad person.’ But if I fire him along with everyone else, wouldn’t that be unfair?’
’But if I don’t get rid of him, security will be an issue, just like I thought.’
The bearded captain might have been blunt, but he was also exceptionally shrewd.
He took one look at the expression on Fang Chenyi’s face and immediately guessed what the man was thinking.
The bearded captain slapped his forehead.
"Oh, my boss, you’re not planning on firing me, are you? I never get involved in any of David’s shady business. My only job is to pilot the ship. I don’t meddle with anything else. You can rest assured on that."
It had to be said, the bearded captain was truly shrewd. By addressing the issue so directly, he managed to sway Fang Chenyi with his frankness.
’None of my men have ever piloted a cruise ship this large,’ he thought. ’In that case, it’s better to keep him on board.’
With that in mind, Fang Chenyi nodded and spoke to the bearded captain.
"Heh, you’re right. I was planning on replacing everyone on this ship. But your frankness has made me reconsider. I hope you’re telling the truth."
The moment Fang Chenyi finished speaking, the bearded captain pounded his chest with a loud THUMP-THUMP and swore an oath to God.
Fang Chenyi waved a dismissive hand, and then his tone shifted.
"Alright, here’s the deal. I’ll let you stay, but you must teach my men how to pilot this cruise ship within one month. Of course, I am a man of my word. I will let you continue to serve as my captain. However, let me be clear: as captain, your authority will be limited to piloting the ship."
Roselrom agreed immediately, without a moment’s hesitation.
Seeing the bearded man’s excitement, a faint smile touched Fang Chenyi’s lips.
He then turned his gaze to the assembled managers and announced in a loud voice:
"Everyone, I imagine you know who I am by now. That’s right—I am the owner of this cruise ship. And the reason I’ve called you all here today is because something just happened. Something that made me furious!"
At this, Fang Chenyi paused, not rushing to continue. The crew members who heard him were baffled, wondering what could have just happened to displease the new boss.
Of course, it didn’t take long for the sharper ones to guess what might be going on.
’The captain isn’t here among us. Could he have offended the new boss?’
A wave of hushed chatter spread through the crowd as they began to whisper among themselves.
Fang Chenyi let them talk for a minute before speaking again.
"I’ll tell you what that unpleasant matter was shortly. But first, my people are now taking full control of this ship’s security. All armed personnel will immediately surrender their weapons, as well as any and all weapons stored in the cabins!"
With a wave of his hand, Qi Xiaotian, who stood behind him, turned and gave the order to two of the three squads.
The order was given: confiscate all weapons!
Faced with these young men, who moved like a pack of wolves, the security personnel offered no resistance, meekly surrendering their weapons.
Moreover, a hundred men from the two squads immediately dispersed to search for more weapons.
They avoided the passenger decks, of course, heading straight for the crew’s quarters.
The men were fast. Within half an hour, they had returned to the deck, their arms laden with all sorts of weapons.
Even Fang Chenyi was taken aback, staring at the small mountain of weapons piled on the deck before him.
’I expected them to have weapons, but not this many!’
He gave a few instructions to Qi Xiaotian. The three hundred men, now reassembled, quickly and methodically secured the arsenal.
By the time all this was done, the sky had brightened considerably, and a growing number of curious passengers had gathered, including Demo Did and his friends.
When they reached the deck, they saw Fang Chenyi standing amidst the crowd with a faint smile. To his other side stood three orderly squads of young Huaxia men. Demo Did froze, stunned by the sight.
His companions, equally shocked to see Fang Chenyi at the center of it all, nudged Demo Did and whispered:
"Dimo, isn’t that your boss? What’s he doing? Why is he standing in the middle of everyone?"
’I’d fucking like to know, too,’ Demo Did thought to himself.
But he couldn’t very well say that out loud, could he? Instead, the guy gave a mysterious wave of his hand.
"Heh heh, it’d spoil the fun if I told you. Just watch and you’ll see."
Just then, Fang Chenyi’s voice cut through the crowd once more.
"Excellent. Now that the first matter is settled, let’s talk about why I was so displeased."
