Chapter 532: Marriage Preparations
In the two weeks Taranis was in Antarctica, the major cities and the places with higher population density before the catastrophe were cleared of the monsters first, allowing the citizens to return to their homes and continue with their jobs and businesses. Life was slowly returning to normal, the scars of battle fading beneath the resilience of humanity.
Taranis contacted Reyaan to offer help if any nation was in need of it. Surprisingly, he told him to focus on his marriage preparations. The Awakeners were more than enough to deal with the remaining monsters.

"A little left, a bit more... No, that is too much, move it to the right a bit. Perfect," Aisha said as she gave instructions with arms folded while Taranis settled a white column on the garden in front of our house. The column was longer than his height, with its serpent like focus colored in a design of red, white, and golden. Similar columns were placed on the other three corners, with a several feet broad stage in the middle. A stair covered with cloth in the same three colors was placed before the stage, leading up to the platform where the ceremony would take place.
"Brother Raj, have you booked the wedding cake?" Aisha asked as soon as he straightened his back after placing the pillar. "What about your wedding suit? Are you going for traditional or professional?"
"Ume said she wanted to prepare the cake with me. Nymeria has taken the responsibility of our wedding dresses," Taranis revealed, fixing the stair cloth, smoothing out the wrinkles with his palm.
"Now that you mention it, where are those girls?" Siya asked, who was preparing tea on the garden table, a few feet away from the stage. The aroma of fresh chai mingled with the scent of blooming flowers. Behind her, on the green lawn, Inayat was riding her tricycle, her little legs pushing the pedals with all her strength, a look of intense concentration on her face.
Taranis’s gaze shifted to the entrance of the mansion where an iron gate was fixed, its bars gleaming in the afternoon sun. "They are..."
---
At the South Pole, Antarctica.
A towering L-shaped wall of countless plum blossoms, several kilometres wide with its bottom layer inside the water, was pushing the ocean back to the land. As it reached the shore, Ume, hovering high in the air with her three tails swaying behind her back and her whole body glowing with a bright pink aura, drew several hand signs and raised her hand upward.
With the movement of her hand, the water carried in the petals of the L-shaped wall was suddenly pushed to the land like a tsunami.
Beside her, on a small carpet of pink petals, Nymeria swung her sword with both hands, releasing a massive chilling aura. The moment the energy struck the water, it turned into ice, coldness spreading across its surface.
Before long, the tsunami wave was turned into a mountain of glacier.
"Hah... this much should be enough," Nymeria gasped, her breath heavy and eyes only half open. She swayed slightly, her usual composure clearly diminished.
The petal wall vanished before them as soon as all the water was frozen. Ume turned her gaze to Nymeria, her eyes narrowing with concern as she asked, "Sister Nym, this much should not exhaust you. Are you not feeling well?"
"I am feeling rather fatigued lately," Nymeria revealed, pressing her temples with her fingers. "Perhaps I am pushing myself too much."
Ume extended her hand to grab Nymeria’s wrist and check for any symptoms of fever, but before she could, Nymeria said, a soft smile forming on her face. "I will feel better once I see him. He must have arrived home by now."
She placed her chin on Ume’s shoulder and whimpered, her voice carrying a hint of playful longing, "Take me to see our man."
Ume nodded with a chuckle, her concern easing into warmth, as she swayed her hand, summoning the petals around them.
---
"They are... here," Taranis said as a spiral of plum blossoms materialised at the entrance, their pink glow illuminating the gateway. From within, revealed Ume and Nymeria, stepping out gracefully, their ethereal forms bathed in the soft light of the setting sun.
"Taranis!" Nymeria called out, a bright smile forming on her face. She was about to bolt toward him when Ume nudged her with an elbow.
"Read the room, Sister Nym," she whispered before greeting Siya and Aisha.
It was only then that Nymeria noticed there were other presences as well.
She composed herself as the duo silently moved toward the table where Siya sat and greeted her.
"Don’t mind me," Siya chuckled. "Go meet him. You children must have a lot to discuss."
They nodded before slowly walking toward Taranis, their eyes scanning the decorated stage behind him as he stood leaning against the pole, looking at them with eyes filled with nothing but warmth.
"Congratulations on your ascension," Ume said, her eyes lowered, voice low.
"Congratulations, Taranis," Nymeria added, her eyes fixed on his face. Since it had been weeks since they last saw each other, she intended to look at him to her heart’s content.
"Thank you... Will I not get a reunion kiss? I missed your warmth," he said deliberately, his tone loud enough for both Siya and Aisha to hear.
"Shhh, not in front of them," Ume hissed, her eyes widening at him in embarrassment.
"Have some control," Nymeria muttered, her gaze sharpening.
"I should go and prepare dinner," Aisha’s teasing voice came from behind the trio as she moved back inside the house.
"Inayat, it’s time for your afternoon nap," Siya chuckled as she rose from her chair, lifted Inayat from her tricycle, and went inside as well.
Their actions left Nymeria and Ume completely embarrassed as they understood why the two had suddenly left.
As soon as the door of the mansion closed, Nymeria muttered, "What do you get out of embarrassing us?"
"You are seriously shameless," Ume added with a pout, shaking her head to the side.
"Hehe~" Taranis snickered, his lips curling into a smirk. "Now, about my welcome back kiss..."
"Go inside the kitchen and prepare the cake!" Nymeria snapped, her finger pointing toward the door.
"R-right on it, ma’am," Taranis flinched as he grabbed Ume’s hand and pivoted on his feet.
Nymeria would definitely not have held back from the kiss if not for Aisha and Siya peeking at them from behind the curtains at the window of the house.
As Taranis and Ume reached the door, Nymeria called out in a serious tone, "Taranis, the marriage cannot happen."
