"Another commander level summon," Taranis lightly gasped in amusement, a hint of surprise coloring his voice. Prime, when he first summoned him, was of soldier rank, which had then leveled up to veteran and eventually champion. After reaching Champion level, the trolls he could summon had increased in both strength and numbers, reaching a shocking total of hundred.

The summoned souls of commander level were as powerful as a late stage Awakened Sage, only half a step away from reaching the True Sage. Their presence on the battlefield could turn the tide of any war.

Taranis ordered Daisy to return to the shadow realm as he shifted his eyes to his palm where a small magical circle of pink ink was drawn.

"Thank god her array was not undone by the transformation," he released a sigh of relief, channeling his Soulforce into the palm.

The circle on his palm began glowing, connecting it to the advanced teleportation array that Ume had created a few kilometres away from the battlefield. The petals of plum blossoms surrounded him from all sides, their soft pink glow enveloping his form, teleporting him to the portal from where he went to Beijing.

---

Within a day of the rift emergence, all fourteen SS Rank rifts were taken care of by Nymeria, Ume, and Taranis. Surprisingly, the monsters from these rifts, each one capable of solo leveling an entire continent, became the ones that were taken down with zero casualties.

Once done with the monsters from SS rifts, Nymeria and Ume joined the battle with other Awakeners to support them against the monsters coming through S-Rank rifts. As for Taranis...

---

Dome Argus, Antarctica.

It was a vast land covered with snow as far as the eye could see, a white expanse that stretched to the horizon in every direction. Bone chillingly cold wind swayed with snow particles that could cause even the lungs to freeze with a single sniff.

At the centre of such an uninhabitable place sat Taranis cross-legged on the snowy ground, completely bare. His body was covered with the warm aura of yang, keeping him from freezing, a soft golden glow emanating from his skin. The snowflakes falling on his body were melting into drops of water from the warm energy, trickling down his muscular frame.

He opened the massive hole of inventory above him and ordered, "Vivi, take as many Mid-Tier Grade One Soul Stones and High-Tier Grade Three Soul Stones as you need to summon the heavenly tribulations."

"Initialising Host’s request..."

"Warning! This planet is not capable of ascending the cultivator to True Sage Realm! The tribulations might cause permanent damage to the planet."

"That is inevitable. It will be destroyed regardless if I do not ascend," Taranis said with a sigh, his breath misting in the cold air.

The warning disappeared, but then one more screen popped up.

"Warning! This world cannot withstand the existence of a True Sage. Unleashing your full power will fracture the reality, and it may take ages for the world to heal."

"I am aware of the consequences, Vivi," Taranis said in a firm tone, his eyes narrowing with resolve. "Begin the Ascension."

Taranis lacked a lot of energy to reach the ceiling of level nine Awakened Sage Realm. He would have had to absorb the Yin Energy from the bodies of all the monsters from SS ranked rifts, but thanks to the two restless nights he spent doing Dual Cultivation with Nymeria and Ume, he had already reached the zenith of his current realm.

The warning screen disappeared as the display with a single sentence appeared,

"Summoning the Heavenly Tribulations..."

The particles of snow on the surface around him began shaking. The snowflakes descending from the sky stopped, instead rising upward, defying gravity itself. It was followed by a mild earthquake with Taranis as the centre, the ground groaning beneath him.

From the massive inventory hole, a pillar of blinding energy erupted into the heavens, blasting away the snow clouds from the sky where the pillar of energy finally stopped. Its surface hummed with radiating energy, the sheer intensity cracking the surface around Taranis, fissures spiderwebbing across the ice.

"The heavenly clouds are not even gathered yet, and the surface is already breaking," Taranis released a gasp, facepalming himself. He was already getting worried about what would happen once the tribulations actually began. The signs were ominous.

Unlike when he ascended to Awakened Sage, it was taking a long time for the clouds of ascension to gather in the sky. The pillar of energy continued to pulse, drawing the attention of the heavens.

Even after several hours, only a few dark clouds had materialised around the pillar, lightning of different colors dancing inside them like restless serpents.

Taranis closed his eyes and decided to spend this time in meditation to calm his mind and make sure the voices of death did not overpower him when the lightning began striking.

---

Crackle!

Taranis opened his eyes from the familiar thundering roars of the lightning. The land beneath him had turned like a shattered glass of snow, with the upper layer of snow already melted away by the continuous radiation from the energy pillar releasing from his inventory.

"A week has passed already?" Taranis murmured as the energy from the pillar slowly dimmed before completely vanishing, along with the inventory hole.

What it left was the dark clouds surrounding the sky with lightning of multiple colors of red, blue, yellow, green dancing in the clouds.

His jaw tightened, veins bulging across his leaned but muscular frame as the lightning began gathering at the centre of the cloud, coalescing into a single point of terrifying power.

KRAKABOOOM!

The pillar of lightning descended upon Taranis with earth shattering force, sending the jolts through the ice dome. The single strike shook the entire continent of Antarctica, causing avalanches in several parts of the vast, frozen landscape. The ground beneath him cracked and groaned under the pressure.

Meanwhile, the man that faced the strike head-on, Taranis himself, had every inch of hair incinerated from his body, his skin turned scorched from various places, the remnants of lightning still dancing on his skin like tiny sparks. His Yin-Yang Sea of Soulforce was going violent, his entire inner world shaking, the balance threatening to collapse.

Yet Taranis did not allow a flicker of emotion on his face, his eyes closed and hand firmly placed on his knees. He had suffered worse than this, but it still did not mean he was immune to pain. He just had pain intolerance of such a high level that he could suffer the most inhumane torture known to mankind and still might not show any flicker of emotion.

"Is it because I have learned Sword Aura?" Taranis muttered inwardly. "The Tribulations are on a completely different level. What will happen when I ascend to Celestial Rea—"

KRAKABOOM!

His words stopped mid-sentence as another pillar descended upon him, even more intense than the previous one, burning his organs and shattering his bones.

The aftermath raised the sea level at a terrifying rate, the height of waves increasing dramatically, turning into a massive tsunami. The tremors of the earthquake were felt in Southern America, the closest continent to Antarctica.

As the massive tsunami waves reached closer to the shore of Southern America, a wide barrier with countless translucent hexagonal shapes interconnected to each other materialised, facing the full force of the tsunami. The barrier held, absorbing the impact, saving millions of lives.

"May you have the heavens’ blessing, dear," Ume whispered in a low, worried tone, standing at the shore.

A/N: Hey guys! Agnivrat03 here. The past couple of months took a lot out of me because of my exams. From this month (June), when I finally thought it was time to make a comeback and increase the Chapter upload rate, I got serious back pain due to long sitting hours. The doctor strictly prohibited me from sitting for more than an hour in a continuous session, which held me back from writing more Chapters.

But now, I am somewhat better than before. I can sit for 80 minutes before the serious pain starts. So, from next month onwards, for every 30 tickets, I will upload one extra Chapter!

Peace out...✌🏻
