Chapter 605: Chapter 604- The kiss of love

"Ah, it ended well," Annabelle muttered, stretching her arms as she settled beside Ruby.

"Yeah. And fortunately, everything went exactly as planned." Ruby shook her head in disbelief. The most surprising part was how quickly it had all come together.

Adrian had come up with the plan that very morning, and before the day was over, the wedding had already taken place.

True, they couldn’t invite many people to the ceremony, but the preparations, the decorations, the food, everything had been arranged flawlessly, leaving no room for disappointment.

"Here, My Queen." Jean walked over and offered Annabelle a glass of juice.

"Thanks." Annabelle accepted it with a smile and took a slow sip.

"Haah..." She let out a contented sigh as she closed her eyes. "Hopefully, we managed to create a day that will become a beautiful memory for them."

"I hope so too," Ruby replied softly.

A faint smile appeared on Jean’s lips. "Judging by how happy they looked, I’d say you succeeded in making the event truly memorable." She sat beside them before continuing, "Though I still don’t understand why everything had to be done in such a hurry."

Ruby let out a weary sigh. "Don’t remind me."

Annabelle pouted. "Darling is about to leave on a dangerous journey all by himself. More than anyone, Ariana feared that this sudden wedding was his way of making sure he had no regrets if something happened."

Jean slowly nodded. "That does sound concerning."

In ancient times, it wasn’t uncommon for men heading to war to leave behind a child in their wives’ wombs, hoping a part of them would remain even if they never returned.

This felt strangely similar.

Not because of a child, but because it seemed like someone trying to fulfill his final wish before charging onto the battlefield.

Ruby sighed again. "Maybe we’re just overthinking it. They’ve been together for so long. It’s only natural that they’d eventually get married."

Annabelle nodded, though the worry in her eyes remained.

"Yeah... let’s hope that’s the only reason Darling rushed everything."

....

"It was a truly memorable day," Ariana said with a gentle smile as she settled beside Adrian.

Adrian returned her smile before getting to his feet and kneeling in front of her.

Carefully, he took her left foot into his hands and slowly slipped off her sandal.

"It’s okay. I can do it myself," Ariana said shyly.

Adrian simply shook his head.

"Let me take care of this. Those sandals have troubled you enough."

She had spent the entire day wearing them despite how uncomfortable they were, never uttering a single complaint because she had been far too happy to let something so trivial ruin the occasion.

After a brief silence, Adrian asked, "Did I stutter while saying my vows?"

He genuinely couldn’t remember.

Ariana chuckled softly.

"No. But you were incredibly nervous. I could tell." A loving smile spread across her face. "It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you like that. So restless and anxious."

He looked up at her with a faint smile.

"Must’ve reminded you of that day."

Ariana instantly understood which day he meant.

Adrian lowered his gaze again and removed her other sandal before gently massaging her sore feet.

As his fingers eased away the day’s fatigue, he spoke quietly.

"I still can’t forget that day... when the entire academy turned against me. When I was branded an incompetent teacher."

He paused for a moment.

"A man who had no place in that academy."

"Adrian..." Ariana called softly.

Adrian shook his head.

"I don’t feel bad about it anymore. If anything, that incident awakened something inside me."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Seeing someone precious to me willing to sacrifice everything just to keep me safe... it made me realize how shameless and cowardly I had become."

Ariana gently shook her head.

"It wasn’t your fault. What you went through during your days at the academy left deep scars on you."

"And yet..." Adrian’s voice softened. "You never lashed out at me. You never told me to walk away. Instead, you risked everything so I could keep doing what I loved most."

He looked into her eyes, gratitude filling his gaze.

"You made me the man I am today, Aria. And I can never thank you enough for that."

Taking her hand in both of his, he gently pressed a kiss against the back of it.

That single gesture carried more love than anything she had experienced throughout the entire day.

A warm blush spread across Ariana’s cheeks as she lowered her eyes.

"I’m... really glad I fell in love with you, Adrian..."

Their eyes met.

Adrian slowly rose from the ground and cupped her cheek.

No words were further needed. His lips met hers in a gentle embrace.

He leaned in closer, his body shifting with care as he climbed onto the bed and settled over her.

Ariana welcomed him with a soft sigh, her hands sliding up his arms to rest on his shoulders.

The weight of him pressed her gently into the mattress, comforting and warm, like a blanket of safety and desire.

Their kiss deepened gradually, unhurried. Adrian’s lips moved against hers with tender passion, savoring the softness, the familiar taste that always stirred something deep within him.

He tilted his head slightly, capturing her lower lip between his own, drawing it in with a slow, loving pull that made her breath hitch.

Ariana’s fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, pulling him nearer. Her heart raced as his hand trailed down her side, fingers brushing lightly over the curve of her waist, then up again to caress the swell of her breast through the delicate fabric of her dress.

The touch was feather-soft yet full of intent, igniting warmth that spread through her like liquid fire.

She parted her lips with a quiet gasp, inviting him further.

Adrian accepted, his tongue gliding against hers in a slow, sensual dance.

The kiss grew more heated, their breaths mingling as he explored her mouth with patient devotion.

His free hand slipped beneath her, supporting the small of her back and arching her closer to him.

Ariana felt herself growing breathless, her skin flushing hot under his touch. Every gentle stroke of his fingers, every brush of his lips sent sparks dancing along her nerves.

She trembled faintly beneath him, her body responding with a growing ache, heat pooling low in her belly as he continued to kiss her like she was the only thing that mattered in the world.

He broke the kiss only long enough to trail his lips along her jaw, then down the graceful line of her neck.

Soft, open-mouthed kisses left a trail of tingling warmth, his breath hot against her sensitive skin.

Ariana tilted her head back, eyes fluttering shut, a soft moan escaping her as his hand continued its slow, worshipful exploration of her body.

"Adrian..." she whispered, voice husky with need. Her hands roamed his back, feeling the strength there, the way his muscles shifted under her touch as he held himself above her with careful restraint.

The air between them thickened with shared desire, their bodies pressed close, hearts beating in unison.

The two passionate lovers were now officially wedded.

And a beautiful night awaited them, one they wouldn’t forget for the rest of their lives..
