Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Deed is Done
When he woke up again, it was already the next morning.
After assessing his physical condition, Qin Tuo was thrilled to discover that he had successfully broken through to the Fifth Layer of Qi Refining!
Suddenly, he was surprised to hear voices coming from the living room!
’Oh, how has my hearing become so sharp...’
Qin Tuo was instinctively taken aback.
After all, the soundproofing in this high-end villa was excellent.

In the living room, Chen Man Ni was carrying several bags, large and small, while actively helping Luo Xianglan with the housework.
"Miss Chen, you could have just come over. Why did you have to bring so many things?"
Luo Xianglan said, looking rather embarrassed.
Chen Man Ni smiled.
"Auntie, these are just some health supplements. They’re good for you. Oh, and you can just call me Manni. Why are you calling me Miss Chen again?"
"Alright, alright. Manni..."
Luo Xianglan nodded repeatedly, a constant smile on her face. She looked a thousand percent pleased with Chen Man Ni.
"By the way, Manni, you came to see Qin Tuo, right? He’s still sleeping. I’ll go wake him up for you!"
With that, Luo Xianglan put down what she was doing and started walking toward Qin Tuo’s bedroom.
But Chen Man Ni quickly stopped her.
"No need, Auntie. I’ll go wake him up myself."
She then approached the bedroom carefully, tiptoeing as if she were a little thief.
Seeing Chen Man Ni enter Qin Tuo’s bedroom, Luo Xianglan and Qin Hongguo exchanged a glance and both smiled with relief.
Luo Xianglan, beaming, said:
"Dear, what stage do you think their relationship is at? She’s already going into his bedroom. They must be close to talking about marriage, right?"
She was filled with emotion. Her son had been through so many setbacks, and now he had finally found a good girl.
As parents, they could finally relax and enjoy their lives.
Qin Hongguo, however, just huffed and put on a stern face.
"That brat! I asked him before and he said there was nothing between them. To think he’d even lie to his old man!"
Luo Xianglan laughed heartily.
"Our son is great in every way, but his personality... he’s just too shy. He gets that from you!"
Qin Hongguo was speechless. He opened his mouth but couldn’t find any words to retort.
"Alright, let’s not be third wheels. We old folks should get out of here and let them have some time alone!"
Luo Xianglan quickly shooed Qin Hongguo out for a walk.
CREAK...
Chen Man Ni tiptoed as she pushed the door open, a triumphant, mischievous smirk on her face.
’Haha, he’s still not up. Just watch me play a good prank on him.’
Seeing Qin Tuo lying in bed with his eyes closed and covered by a blanket, Chen Man Ni quietly approached.
Just as she was about to pinch Qin Tuo’s nose, he suddenly opened his eyes and made a scary face.
"Ah! You’re awake!"
Chen Man Ni jumped in fright.
Qin Tuo sat up straight and threw the blanket off!
Chen Man Ni shrieked again and quickly covered her eyes.
"Hahaha, what are you afraid of? It’s not like I’m naked!"
Qin Tuo was fully and neatly dressed, and he got right out of bed.
"Hey! Qin Tuo, you’ve gotten so naughty!"
Chen Man Ni stomped her foot, her face flushing red.
She had wanted to tease Qin Tuo, but he had turned the tables on her.
"By the way, what did you come over for today? Don’t tell me you’re here to seal the deal with me?"
Qin Tuo said with a wicked grin and a mischievous look in his eyes.
Chen Man Ni’s eyes went wide, clearly infuriated.
"Qin Tuo, what nonsense are you spouting? I’m a respectable young lady! How could you slander me like that?"
As she spoke, she put on an expression like she was about to burst into tears.
’This girl... she’s such a drama queen!’
Qin Tuo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. If he hadn’t already known what Chen Man Ni was like, he would have definitely been fooled by her delicate act.
Not letting it go, Chen Man Ni swung her little fists and started hammering on Qin Tuo’s shoulder.
But she used too much force and her body slipped to the side.

She fell directly onto the bed, grabbing Qin Tuo’s arm in a panic.
The smile on Qin Tuo’s face instantly froze. Caught completely off guard, it was as if all the strength had vanished from his body.
Pulled down by Chen Man Ni, the two of them tumbled onto the bed together.
An awkward tension seemed to fill the air...
They were face to face, so close they could hear each other’s breathing clearly.
As if she’d been zapped by electricity, Chen Man Ni scrambled up, keeping her head down, not daring to look at Qin Tuo.
Qin Tuo laughed, proactively breaking the awkwardness.
"Alright, alright, let’s get down to business. Why’d you come to my place so early in the morning?"
Chen Man Ni then remembered her real purpose. She grabbed Qin Tuo’s sleeve and started pulling him outside.
"Come with me! I need you for something!"
