Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Master Long Makes a Move
A cold object was slowly pressed against Qin Tuo’s waist.
He didn’t need to ask to know what it was—a gun!
Qin Tuo’s eyes narrowed slightly as he slowly turned his head.
The large man in black behind him wore sunglasses and chewed gum. He spoke in a cold voice.
"Don’t talk, or don’t blame the bullet for not having eyes!"
His voice was cold, filled with immense killing intent.
’These people are undoubtedly top-tier assassins,’ Qin Tuo’s heart sank.
’Otherwise, there’s no way they could have gotten this close without me noticing a thing.’
The street was bustling with people, but no one noticed someone had drawn a gun here.
Qin Tuo wasn’t afraid. He remained calm and slowly asked:
"Who are you people, and what do you want?"
The burly man holding the gun to Qin Tuo’s back sneered.
"Nothing much. We just want you to come with us for a little trip!"
"Let’s go, kid."
Chen Man Ni, who was in the car, sensed something was wrong. She got out and walked over, her expression changing instantly.
"Who are you? I’m warning you, Mr. Qin is an honored guest of our Chen Family. If you dare touch him, you’d better think carefully about the consequences."
But to her surprise, the leader of the black-clad men just laughed out loud.
"Heh, the Chen Family name is pretty intimidating! Too bad we at Huaiyi Hall don’t need to ask anyone for permission. If you know what’s good for you, get out of the way!"
’What? Huaiyi Hall?’
Chen Man Ni’s heart skipped a beat.
’This is bad!’
As the young mistress of the Chen Family, she had, of course, heard of Huaiyi Hall’s reputation.
In the Southwest Region, Huaiyi Hall was the undisputed local tyrant!
The boss of Huaiyi Hall was one of the top figures in the underworld; even the Chen Family had to show them some respect.
"Huaiyi Hall, you say?"
A playful look entered Qin Tuo’s eyes as he slowly committed the name to memory.
He had never heard of it before, but seeing Chen Man Ni’s reaction, he knew Huaiyi Hall must be a very powerful organization.
For a moment, Chen Man Ni’s expression became conflicted, and she hesitated.
"Kid, stop wasting time. Let’s go!"
The black-clad man sneered, pressing the gun harder against him.
There wasn’t a trace of panic on Qin Tuo’s face. Instead, he nodded and let out a cold chuckle.
"Fine, I’ll go with you!"
He wanted to see for himself just what this Huaiyi Hall was up to.
’Just how formidable is their boss?’
Even if he escaped this time, he couldn’t possibly dodge them forever. What’s more, his parents could be implicated. Thus, Qin Tuo decided to solve this problem once and for all.
"No, you can’t take him!"
Suddenly, Chen Man Ni made up her mind, rushing forward to pull at Qin Tuo.
"Mr. Qin is our Chen Family’s savior! The Chen Family will absolutely not allow anyone to harm him. If you want to take Mr. Qin, you’ll have to get through me, Chen Man Ni, first!"
Qin Tuo looked a little surprised, then a warmth spread through his heart.
He was surprised that a woman like Chen Man Ni would be so protective of him in the face of death.
Looking at Chen Man Ni, he was suddenly moved.
"Qin Tuo, hurry up and come with me!"
Chen Man Ni frantically tried to pull Qin Tuo away.
The group of black-clad men immediately fixed their cold stares on Chen Man Ni.
The leader’s eyes showed his displeasure.
"You damn brat, I see you don’t know how formidable our Huaiyi Hall is!"
With a cold sneer, he let go of Qin Tuo and pointed the gun directly at Chen Man Ni’s head.
He didn’t actually intend to shoot and kill Chen Man Ni. He just wanted this young mistress to experience what the fear of impending death tasted like!
It was also an opportunity to knock the Chen Family down a peg and warn them not to act recklessly.
Staring at the gun pointed at her head, Chen Man Ni went cold all over, panicked and terrified.
"Heh heh, you little bitch, keep running your mouth for me now!"
The black-clad man wore a cruel smile, his expression arrogant and triumphant.
But just then, a WHOOSH of wind sounded from the side!
Qin Tuo’s hand shot out like lightning, clamping down on the gun.
"Dammit..."
The black-clad man cursed. He hadn’t expected Qin Tuo would actually dare to make a move.
Just as he tried to forcefully pull the gun away, he heard a crisp sound.
CRACK!
With just a slight squeeze from Qin Tuo, the steel-forged body of the gun was actually crushed to pieces.
A smile on his face, Qin Tuo slowly opened his hand, and fragments of metal fell from between his fingertips.
"Y-y-you..."
Standing right in front of him, the black-clad man was terrified, his voice stammering.
The other men in black all looked like they’d seen a ghost. They took off their sunglasses, staring at the scene in disbelief.
’This guy’s hand is harder than iron!’
’And his strength... it’s terrifying!’
To the men in black, Qin Tuo’s smile looked like that of a demon.
Only then did they realize just what a terrifying person this kid they were supposed to abduct was.
’No wonder even Master Long had to give the order personally. So this kid is this strong...’ the leader of the black-clad men thought to himself.
"The one you want to take is me. This has nothing to do with her."
Qin Tuo said this matter-of-factly, looking completely nonchalant.
"Qin Tuo, you absolutely can’t go with them!"
Chen Man Ni was so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes.
The group of black-clad men composed themselves and nodded.
"Fine. In that case, just come with us. Let’s not waste any more time here!"
Qin Tuo nodded, spread his hands, and with a casual air, followed them into a seven-seater business van.
He was determined to see what this Huaiyi Hall was really all about.
The men in black were true to their word; they said they wouldn’t touch Chen Man Ni, and they didn’t.
Watching the van speed away, Chen Man Ni stomped her foot in anxiety.
Only then did she realize that from having a gun pointed at her, her back was already drenched in sweat.
"It’s over. Mr. Qin has been targeted by Huaiyi Hall. What are we going to do?"
The thought of Huaiyi Hall’s terrifying reputation made Chen Man Ni’s mind race with anxiety.
’That’s right, I’ll call Dad!’
Chen Man Ni immediately took out her phone and called Chen Wenxiong.
"Manni, what’s wrong?"
Chen Wenxiong was playing golf and seemed to be in a good mood.
But in the next moment, he heard his daughter’s tearful voice.
"Dad, Mr. Qin was taken away by people from Huaiyi Hall!"
"What? Huaiyi Hall?"
Chen Wenxiong’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
"Heavens, has the Zhao Family gone mad? To actually play this trump card and get Master Long to act!"
Chen Wenxiong instantly lost all mood to continue playing golf.
In an instant, his mind raced with further implications.
"Dad, you have to think of a way to save Mr. Qin! If you don’t, the people from Huaiyi Hall will kill him!"
Chen Man Ni was frantic.
Seeing that Chen Wenxiong was still silent, Chen Man Ni was so anxious she started to cry.
"Dad, don’t tell me you can’t do anything... If even you’re helpless, isn’t Mr. Qin doomed?"
"Don’t cry, daughter. Dad is thinking of a way!"
Chen Wenxiong couldn’t help but give a bitter smile.
He was also deeply troubled upon hearing this bad news.
But his opponent was Master Long, a man with such a formidable background. This matter had to be handled with careful planning; he absolutely could not act rashly.
