Chapter 136: Chapter 136: Long 5 Takes Action

As a figure in the underworld, Brother Hu naturally knew who Long Wu was.

After all, Long Wu was the boss of Ming City’s entire criminal underworld.

The sight of Long Wu made Brother Hu’s heart pound as he anxiously wondered,

’Damn it, why is Master Long here? What could he possibly want...’

Even now, Brother Hu had no idea that Qin Tuo was the one who had summoned Long Wu.

Steeling himself, Brother Hu prepared to go over and greet him.

However, Long Wu beat him to it, walking straight up to Qin Tuo.

The next moment, Long Wu’s face was filled with reverence.

"Celestial King, are you all right? Nothing happened, I hope?"

Although no one quite caught the title he used, they all saw the look of deep concern on Long Wu’s face.

And when he spoke, his deferential expression was unmistakable.

In that instant, everyone was stunned!

Brother Hu knew at once that he had picked a fight with the wrong person, and his heart sank.

’No way. This kid is actually being treated so respectfully by Master Long?’

Brother Hu’s heart hammered in his chest.

He snapped back to his senses, realizing he had to apologize to Qin Tuo immediately.

But before Brother Hu could apologize, Long Wu’s expression hardened, and he spoke in an icy tone.

"What are all you lowlifes doing here? Do you not know who I am?"

At his words, all of Brother Hu’s men turned pale and began to tremble.

They all knew, of course, that this was Long Wu from Huaiyi Hall!

"Sorry, big bro, we’re out of here."

With that, all his underlings scattered and fled.

Just like that, Brother Hu was left standing alone, not knowing whether to stay or go.

His face devoid of expression, Long Wu walked straight toward Brother Hu.

Then he raised his hand and brought it down in a heavy slap.

SLAP!

Brother Hu stood perfectly still, not daring to dodge, and could only force a pained smile.

"Master Long, I’m so sorry! I was blind and didn’t recognize your greatness!"

The woman in sunglasses next to him, however, was not having it.

Who the hell was this guy? How dare he hit her man?

The woman in sunglasses didn’t know who Long Wu was. She frowned and demanded:

"What do you think you’re doing, you old bastard? How dare you hit Brother Hu? You must have a death wish!"

Before Long Wu could even speak, however, Brother Hu was so enraged that he kicked the woman in sunglasses right to the ground.

"Brother Hu, why did you hit me?"

A bruise was already forming where she was kicked, and she started crying, feeling wronged.

Brother Hu cursed viciously:

"You stupid bitch, are you trying to get me killed? Apologize! Now!"

The woman in sunglasses was frightened out of her wits, but she understood she had offended someone she couldn’t afford to provoke.

Swallowing her tears, she hurriedly apologized to Qin Tuo.

"I’m sorry, sir. It was my fault for looking down on you. I’ve offended you!"

As she spoke these words, she wanted to die of humiliation.

Her current servility was a stark contrast to her earlier arrogance.

Both Long Wu and Brother Hu looked to Qin Tuo, waiting for his verdict.

Brother Hu understood better than anyone that his very life depended on Qin Tuo’s next words.

Qin Tuo gave a casual wave of his hand and said coldly:

"Consider this a lesson. If you ever look down on people like this again, you won’t be so lucky."

At his words, both Brother Hu and the woman in sunglasses let out a sigh of relief, a great weight lifted from their chests.

"What are you waiting for? Thank Mr. Qin for his mercy!"

Long Wu barked immediately.

Brother Hu and the woman in sunglasses quickly bowed their heads and offered their thanks.

"Get lost!"

Long Wu added coldly.

If Qin Tuo hadn’t spoken up to let them go, Long Wu would likely have had this wretched pair killed.

Not daring to even breathe a word, Brother Hu and the woman in sunglasses scurried away, scared out of their wits.

Long Wu said apologetically:

"Celestial King, I am so sorry that these lowlifes bothered you!"

Qin Tuo smiled and replied nonchalantly:

"It’s not your fault. Besides, you got here very quickly."

Hearing Qin Tuo’s words, Long Wu breathed a private sigh of relief.

After dealing with the matter, Qin Tuo sent Long Wu on his way.

He then got back in his car and drove into Half Moon Bay alone.

Just as he drove in, he saw Wang Lei and Zhou Kexin in the distance. They had also finished their property viewing and were on their way out.

The saleswoman was chattering away animatedly, and it was clear that both Wang Lei and Zhou Kexin were very pleased with the viewing.

The three of them seemed to be getting along splendidly.

Suddenly, Zhou Kexin recognized Qin Tuo’s used, domestically-made car, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"Hey, look! Isn’t that Qin Tuo? How did he drive in here?"

Wang Lei took a closer look and was just as shocked. He muttered to himself:

"That can’t be right. Shouldn’t that punk Qin Tuo have been beaten to a pulp by those thugs? How is he driving in here? What the hell happened?"

Just then, Qin Tuo noticed Wang Lei and Zhou Kexin as well. He slowed to a stop and rolled down his window.

Wang Lei couldn’t stop himself from demanding:

"Qin Tuo, how did you get away from those guys?"

Qin Tuo replied with a casual smile:

"I reasoned with them, and they let me leave."

Wang Lei clearly didn’t believe a word of his bullshit and turned to complain to the saleswoman.

"This guy definitely snuck in here! He’s an ex-con, he’s probably planning to steal something valuable. You need to get him out of here, now!"

The saleswoman wasn’t part of the property management team, so she didn’t recognize Qin Tuo.

She was startled to hear what Wang Lei said.

If there was a security breach, she’d be held responsible too!

Besides, Wang Lei was now a prospective homeowner. Since he was the one who brought it up, the saleswoman was eager to win his favor and quickly put on a proactive display.

"Excuse me, sir, but you need to leave immediately. Outsiders are not permitted to enter at will!"

The saleswoman spread her arms, blocking Qin Tuo’s car.

But Qin Tuo just shook his head and said:

"You’ve misunderstood. I live here."

Wang Lei burst out laughing and mocked him mercilessly:

"I’m a proper manager, and I had to rely on a huge commission just to afford the down payment on a place here. You, a common salesman, live here? What a joke!"

Hearing this, the saleswoman thought it made perfect sense and immediately called over the patrolling security captain.

As soon as the security captain arrived, Wang Lei immediately asked:

"Do you recognize this guy? He says he lives here!"

The security captain didn’t recognize Qin Tuo and stated bluntly:

"I’ve never seen him before!"

Wang Lei, thinking he had exposed Qin Tuo’s lie, was gloating.

But Qin Tuo said breezily:

"Of course he hasn’t seen me. I don’t live in the Lower Bay Area. I live in the Upper Bay Area."

At that, everyone froze.

Then, almost in unison, they all burst into hysterical laughter.

Even Zhou Kexin, who had been quiet until now, couldn’t take it anymore and chimed in.

"Qin Tuo, be realistic. It’s gone far enough. There’s no need to keep lying."
