Chapter 103: Chapter 103: All Accounts Cleared
Upon hearing this, Han Zilin immediately jumped to his defense.
"Manager Wang, how is that possible? Collecting on that many accounts in a single day... Aren’t you just setting him up to fail?"
Given Han Zilin’s personality, she would never normally defy her superiors at the company.
But since this involved Qin Tuo, she couldn’t hold herself back.
A vicious glint flashed in Wang Lei’s eyes as he sneered.
"Heh, you’ve got a problem with that, don’t you, little girl? In that case, starting today, you’re on his team!"
Zhou Kexin grew anxious and quickly tried to intervene.
If Han Zilin joined Qin Tuo’s team, she would undoubtedly be fired as well.
However, Wang Lei said nothing, simply shooting her a stern, warning glance.
At that, Zhou Kexin shook her head and fell silent, standing off to the side.
"Brother Tu, say something! Aren’t they obviously trying to kick you out?"
Han Zilin tugged anxiously at Qin Tuo’s arm. She didn’t want to end up being the only one left at the company.
If Qin Tuo quit, she felt there would be no point in staying here either.
Qin Tuo just shook his head slightly, signaling for Han Zilin not to worry.
Just then, Liu Ping walked over.
"Manager Wang, I want to switch teams!"
Liu Ping said earnestly, though he didn’t dare to meet Qin Tuo’s eyes.
"Oh? You want to switch teams, too?"
Wang Lei’s eyes lit up instantly.
Liu Ping nodded and gave a wry smile.
"Yes, Manager Wang. I don’t feel I’m up to the task on this team, so I’d like to request a transfer. Please approve it."
After what happened yesterday, Liu Ping now saw Qin Tuo as an utterly dangerous individual.
After all, at the dinner party, Qin Tuo had even dared to stand up to Zhang Cheng.
He felt that if he stayed on the same team as Qin Tuo, he would just keep getting dragged into trouble.
Wang Lei burst out laughing and readily agreed.
"Alright, Liu Ping. I see you’ve decided to abandon a sinking ship. In that case, you can join Zhou Kexin’s team!"
Liu Ping was overjoyed. This way, he wouldn’t have to worry about being fired.
But he also felt a little guilty toward Qin Tuo. He steeled himself and didn’t dare to glance at Qin Tuo the entire time.
Seeing no reaction from Qin Tuo, Wang Lei couldn’t help but sneer.
"Qin Tuo, it’s working hours. Let me remind you, you only have one day. If you don’t get a move on, you can just wait to be fired!"
With a smug smile, he turned and left.
After Qin Tuo had slapped him across the face yesterday, Wang Lei had been looking for revenge. Today, he’d finally found the perfect excuse.
Han Zilin, feeling helpless, had no choice but to move her things next to Qin Tuo’s desk.
Starting today, the two of them were tied together.
Han Zilin couldn’t help but complain in a low voice.
"Brother Tu, these people are horrible. Why are they always targeting you?"
Qin Tuo chuckled coldly.
"Wang Lei has always been a petty little man. Don’t pay him any mind."
Han Zilin frowned.
"But we’re going to be fired after today!"
In her eyes, collecting all of the company’s ancient, unpaid debts in a single day was completely unrealistic.
But Qin Tuo just smiled.
"It’s fine. They aren’t enough to get rid of us."
Seeing Qin Tuo’s blind confidence, Han Zilin felt a wave of helplessness.
She knew that Qin Tuo seemed to be incredibly capable and always full of surprises.
But she also felt that this time, there wouldn’t be another miracle.
Yesterday, Qin Tuo had already handed over all the debtors’ information to Long Wu.
He was confident that with Long Wu’s reputation in the underworld, collecting these debts would be a piece of cake.
For the entire day, Qin Tuo stayed in the office. He didn’t go out to collect debts, nor did he make a single phone call.
Han Zilin asked with a wry smile.
"Brother Tu, why aren’t we going out to collect the debts?"
She couldn’t help but wonder if Qin Tuo was deliberately giving up.
The other employees in the sales department were all gloating.
Especially when they saw Qin Tuo just sitting there, not moving a muscle.
They were certain that after today, Qin Tuo would be forced to pack his things and leave.
But Qin Tuo just reassured Han Zilin.
"Zilin, don’t worry. The day isn’t over yet, is it?"
Han Zilin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She was at a loss for words.
Just as it was nearing the end of the workday, Wang Lei swaggered in.
The moment he saw Qin Tuo, he sneered.
"Qin Tuo, I see you’ve already given up. You haven’t even stepped out of the office all day. In that case, the two of you don’t need to come in tomorrow morning."
Qin Tuo retorted.
"We’re doing our jobs just fine. On what grounds are you telling us not to come back?"
Wang Lei snorted coldly.
"Didn’t I make myself clear? If you couldn’t collect the debts today, your entire team would be fired. Are you deaf?"
But Qin Tuo just gave a casual smile.
"Is that so? Well, sorry, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to disappoint you."
Seeing Qin Tuo’s nonchalant attitude, Wang Lei was infuriated.
"You damn punk. Be arrogant for a little while longer. It’s almost quitting time anyway. The second the clock hits, I’ll personally tell you to get lost."
Just as the workday was about to end, an accountant from the finance department suddenly came running over, looking excited.
Wang Lei’s expression faltered. He instinctively felt a sense of foreboding.
The accountant announced loudly.
"Manager Wang, your sales department is incredible!"
Seeing the accountant’s excited face, Wang Lei’s heart sank even further. He asked hurriedly.
"Accountant Chen, what’s going on?"
All the sales staff were getting ready to leave for the day. They all turned to look at Accountant Chen with puzzled expressions.
Suppressing his excitement, Accountant Chen smiled and said.
"Just now, payments started flooding into the company’s account one after another. All of the outstanding debts have been collected in one fell swoop."
"What? Are you kidding me?"
Wang Lei’s eyes went wide, his face a mask of utter shock.
All the other sales employees looked as if they’d seen a ghost.
Accountant Chen asked, confused.
"Huh? Manager Wang, your sales department just pulled off something huge. Why do you... look so unhappy?"
How could Wang Lei possibly be happy?
The smile he managed to force was uglier than a grimace.
"Haha! Well, Manager Wang, the company is sure to reward you handsomely for this. Congratulations in advance!"
Accountant Chen left, still chuckling.
As everyone came to their senses, the room erupted into a clamor.
"Damn it, what happened? How did all those debts get collected?"
"That’s not right. That punk Qin Tuo didn’t leave the office or make any calls all day. What the hell is going on?"
Wang Lei gritted his teeth in anger, his face turning pale.
Han Zilin said excitedly.
"Brother Tu, you’re amazing! How on earth did you do it?"
Qin Tuo said with a grin.
"I told you we wouldn’t get kicked out, didn’t I?"
Han Zilin quickly asked.
"Brother Tu, did you know this would happen all along?"
Qin Tuo gave a mysterious smile.
"Maybe we just got lucky?"
