Chapter 100: Chapter 100: One Dollar
Qin Tuo was more than happy to accept. Why turn down a free ride?
The three of them went to where Zhou Kexin had parked her car.
When they got a closer look, Zhou Kexin was stunned!
Her BMW’s window had been smashed to smithereens.
Not only was the window shattered, but the expensive designer bag she had left inside was also missing.
Zhou Kexin’s face instantly flushed red with anger, and she burst out cursing.
"Asshole! Which bastard did this? Get the hell out here!"
Han Zilin was anxious for her too, stomping her foot in frustration.
But Qin Tuo said slowly,
"Look, I hate to say it, but you brought this on yourself."
Zhou Kexin flew into a rage the moment she heard that.
"Qin Tuo, what’s with the snide remarks? How can you be gloating at a time like this?"
Han Zilin was also completely bewildered. Why was Qin Tuo rubbing salt in the wound?
Qin Tuo said nonchalantly,
"You came to a place like this, parked your car carelessly on the side of the road, and left your bag inside. Aren’t you just asking for a thief to smash your window and take it?"
At that, Zhou Kexin was left speechless.
Han Zilin nodded, admitting that Qin Tuo had a point.
Qin Tuo sneered.
"Look around. Why weren’t the other cars broken into? It’s because their owners didn’t leave valuables inside. Don’t you even have that much common sense?"
The barrage of questions made Zhou Kexin’s chest heave with anger, but she didn’t know how to argue back.
Staring at the shattered glass and her vanished designer bag, Zhou Kexin felt the urge to cry.
Han Zilin comforted her, saying,
"Sister Ke Xin, please don’t be angry. It’s just a bag. The important thing is that you’re safe. Try not to let it get to you!"
Zhou Kexin shook her head resentfully.
"You don’t understand. My dad bought this bag for me. It cost over a hundred thousand back then!"
"Over a hundred thousand? For a bag?"
Han Zilin was stunned.
To her, that was an astronomical price.
Zhou Kexin gritted her teeth and said bitterly,
"No way. I’m going to check the security footage and find out exactly which bastard did this!"
Just as she finished speaking, a group of thugs suddenly appeared from a nearby corner.
They all had a slovenly, delinquent look, their faces twisted into menacing grins.
"Which little broad was that cursing us? You tired of living?" one of the thugs snarled.
Zhou Kexin was startled and instinctively took two steps back.
The leader, Red Hair, was dangling Zhou Kexin’s bag from his hand. It was clear now that this was the group who had smashed the car window and stolen it.
When the thugs saw how beautiful Zhou Kexin and Han Zilin were, they started whistling and cackling lewdly.
One of the thugs said with a sycophantic grin,
"Boss, you’re brilliant! Telling us to wait here in ambush... otherwise, we would’ve missed out on two absolute stunners like these!"
Red Hair burst out laughing, proud of his brilliant decision.
Unable to contain her anger, Zhou Kexin rushed forward.
"You thieves, give me back my bag!"
She was terrified, but the thought of her expensive bag gave her a burst of courage.
Red Hair hid the bag behind his back and said with a sleazy grin,
"Hey, pretty lady. You want your bag back, right? Well, how about you come have some fun with us tonight? Keep all my boys happy, and we’ll give it back to you. What do you say?"
At his words, the surrounding thugs erupted in raucous laughter, their eyes gleaming with desire as they stared at Zhou Kexin.
Zhou Kexin’s face went pale with rage, and she was trembling so hard she couldn’t speak.
Seeing this, Han Zilin quickly pulled Zhou Kexin back, pleading,
"Sister Ke Xin, there are too many of them! Don’t provoke them!"
When Zhou Kexin didn’t answer, Red Hair chuckled again.
"So, little lady, what’s your decision? Want to come and have some fun with us?"
"You’re... shameless!"
Zhou Kexin was about to explode with anger.
But she also knew that the chances of getting the bag back today were slim to none.
"If you don’t say anything, we’ll take that as a yes!"
A lecherous smile spread across Red Hair’s face as he prepared to order his men to just grab them.
Just then, Qin Tuo walked right up to them.
"How about this? We’ll buy the bag from you. What do you think?"
"Oh? Buy it?"
Red Hair sized up Qin Tuo for a moment, then sneered.
"Kid, you don’t have a single valuable thing on you. Go on, tell me. How much can you pay?"
He could clearly see that Qin Tuo was just an ordinary guy and likely couldn’t offer an exciting price.
Qin Tuo didn’t speak, just held up one finger.
Red Hair sneered.
"Kid, you think you can buy this bag back for ten thousand? In your dreams! Didn’t you hear the lady say it cost her over a hundred thousand?"
Standing to the side, Zhou Kexin and Han Zilin were both too furious to speak.
Qin Tuo, however, just shook his head, his expression blank, and wiggled his finger again.
Now, Red Hair was a little confused.
"A hundred thousand? Still not enough. That’s not even enough for my boys’ cigarette money, right everyone?"
The thugs immediately chimed in.
"Yeah! Only a hundred thousand? Is he trying to shoo away a beggar?"
"Heh, a hundred thousand? I’d rather spend a wild night with these two chicks!"
However, Qin Tuo still just shook his head.
At this, Red Hair’s eyes lit up.
"Kid, don’t tell me you’re offering a million? If that’s the price, I might just consider it."
Beside them, Zhou Kexin’s eyes widened, and she frowned.
"Qin Tuo, are you out of your mind? Don’t look at me when you can’t come up with that kind of money. I certainly don’t have it!"
Han Zilin, on the other hand, was so worried her eyes were red.
"Brother Tu, how can you offer a million? Besides, you don’t have that much money!"
She knew that Qin Tuo had only recently been released from prison, his family situation wasn’t good, and he hadn’t even been working for more than a few days. How could he possibly come up with such a large sum of money?
Qin Tuo ignored them, however, and just watched Red Hair quietly, waiting for his decision.
Red Hair pretended to be making a difficult decision, then said through gritted teeth,
"Fine, kid. Since you’re willing to pay a million, my boys and I will let you all go. But let’s see the money first."
Inwardly, Red Hair was ecstatic. He’d only come out looking for a small score, but he’d run into a real sucker.
However, Qin Tuo slowly shook his head.
"Kid, what do you mean by that?"
Red Hair’s expression darkened instantly.
Qin Tuo said seriously,
"I never said I was offering a million. My price is... one dollar!"
"What? One dollar?"
Red Hair was stunned, thinking he must have misheard.
Qin Tuo smiled coldly, pulled out a one-dollar coin, and flicked it to Red Hair.
