Chapter 471: Chapter 570: I Really, Love You So Much, Love You So Much 3

Sometimes, when you choose to let one thing go, you’re actually gaining something else.

Since things were already set in stone and irreversible, dwelling on them was just self-torture.

You can’t start anew if you can’t let go of the past.

And she wanted to start anew.

In truth, from the moment Leona Grant had tried to kill himself, Annabelle Linton’s hatred for him had dissipated a great deal.

No matter his motives, he truly had been on the verge of death that day. It brought her a grim sense of balance for the death of her child.

Now, all she wanted was to live a good life.

In an instant, Annabelle Linton was able to face him with complete composure. She smiled and said, "I don’t hate you anymore."

Hearing this, Leona Grant seemed to let out a sigh of relief and smiled as well. He said sincerely, "Thank you. But I still have to apologize for the man I used to be. I’m sorry, Annabelle Linton."

"It’s all in the past now." Annabelle Linton gave a faint smile.

"Oh, by the way..."

’Being able to talk with her so calmly was something he had always dreamed of, but this would probably be the last time in his life.’

’After tonight, after tomorrow, they would be thousands of miles apart. The person by each of their sides would no longer be the other. He would belong to another, and she to another.’

’In this vast world, this sea of people, the bond of fate that had held them together for over twenty years suddenly seemed so fragile. From this day forward, they would each just be someone else’s partner.’

’It was actually quite nice, getting her forgiveness before he left.’

’How should he remember this precious relationship?’

Leona Grant decided he wouldn’t look back on it again.

He smiled, picking up where he left off as a warmth spread through his eyes. "You don’t have to worry about me pestering you anymore."

"Hmm?"

Leona Grant didn’t look at her. His gaze slid away, landing quietly on a nearby flower bush. His voice was somewhat dazed and surreal, heavy and deep, as if he were suppressing something.

He curved the corners of his lips. "I’m getting married tomorrow, too."

’I’ve given myself a reason not to come looking for you, and also...’ A sharp glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes.

Annabelle Linton was clearly taken aback for a moment, but then her smile deepened.

’She didn’t know why it deepened.’

"Congratulations."

Leona Grant smiled again. "Thanks. I’ll be at my own wedding tomorrow, so I won’t be able to attend the other’s. To be honest, I came to ask for a gift and to give one in return."

Annabelle Linton tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at him. "What is it?"

"Can you give me a hug?" As if afraid she’d refuse, he quickly added, "Just a friendly hug, nothing more. Consider it my wedding gift for tomorrow, and my gift to you as well."

Annabelle Linton hesitated for a moment, but still walked over and opened her arms.

Before she could even touch him, Leona Grant pulled her into a full embrace.

He held her so tightly, so forcefully, that Annabelle Linton’s ribs ached. He was bent slightly, his head resting by her ear.

"Thank you, my Leona, for being the one who appeared in Annabelle’s life."

Annabelle Linton still managed a smile as a thin mist veiled her eyes. "You’re welcome."

However, the hug didn’t last long. As soon as Leona Grant finished speaking, he let her go, then turned away as if to hide something.

"Alright, I’m leaving. Remember to take care of yourself from now on."

"Mm."

Annabelle Linton hummed a faint response, glanced at his retreating back, and then turned away herself.

But she hadn’t taken more than a few steps before she was grabbed forcefully, then pulled into an even tighter embrace.

From above her head came Leona Grant’s choked voice, "Annabelle Linton, I really love you. I love you so much."
