Chapter 465: Chapter 464: You Get Married, I Get Married 3

Aaron Wyatt gave her a warm smile. "I know you like Western food, so I made a reservation before we left. That way, we could come eat as soon as we got back."

Annabelle Linton’s heart warmed. She hadn’t expected him to be so thoughtful. She gave a faint smile. "Thank you."

"Silly, haven’t I told you not to be so formal with me?" Aaron Wyatt gently flicked her on the forehead with his finger.

Annabelle Linton’s poker face showed precious little emotion. She gave another helpless smile. "It’s a habit."

Aaron Wyatt also smiled helplessly.

’My fiancée is a woman of few words. It’s cool, but man, is it exhausting...’

But he knew this was the most open Annabelle Linton was with him, a side of her he alone saw.

She wouldn’t talk this much with other people, nor would she smile.

The steaks were served shortly after.

The restaurant was situated by the river. As the city lights began to glow, the water reflected the vibrant colors of the neon signs and the silhouettes of people, creating a beautiful scene.

Annabelle Linton quietly watched the scenery outside the window while Aaron Wyatt cut her steak for her.

Every time they went out for steak, he would cut hers into small, bite-sized pieces.

Aaron Wyatt gazed at her profile. Just from her side view, he could sense an indifference that seemed bone-deep, a sense of detachment.

Her clean, clear features were tinged with an otherworldly desolation, as if she didn’t belong to the mortal world. She was probably the coldest woman he had ever met in his life.

In the past, even if she wasn’t happy, she would still smile sometimes.

Now, he didn’t know if she was happy or not, but she basically never smiled anymore.

Aaron Wyatt gave a faint, weary smile and passed her the steak he had cut.

Annabelle Linton took it and said, "Thank you."

The moment she said it, she froze, then let out a helpless laugh. "I forgot."

"It’s fine. I don’t blame you." Aaron Wyatt smiled as well.

The two began to eat. As Aaron Wyatt cut his steak, he took it upon himself to find topics for conversation.

When he was with Annabelle Linton, he never expected her to start a conversation on her own.

So, the task of keeping the conversation from dying fell to him.

...

Fate can be a terrifying thing.

As if it were the only restaurant in the entire city, Leona Grant and "Annabelle Ainsworth" were having a meal in another private room.

Vivian Yates looked at him and asked with a smile, "Leona, how about we go look at wedding dresses tomorrow?"

She had changed how she addressed him ever since they decided to get married.

Leona Grant didn’t even glance at her. He said flatly, "Leona is not for you to call. And there’s no need for me to help you pick out a wedding dress for a marriage that ends in divorce in half a month."

He was just giving himself an excuse not to crash the event, giving Annabelle Linton some peace of mind, and...

After speaking, he stood up and said, his face devoid of expression, "Excuse me."

Then, without waiting for her to respond, he walked toward the restroom.

Vivian Yates clenched her fists.

’At least I have half a month to win him over.’

He stared at himself in the restroom mirror for a long, long time, his thoughts a mystery.

He stood there for who knows how long, until the sound of someone washing their hands beside him pulled Leona Grant back to his senses.

Only then did he realize he had been spacing out for a long time. He washed his hands again and headed back out.

The restroom was at the end of the hall, so he had to pass by the private rooms lining both sides of the corridor.

As Leona Grant reached the middle of the hallway, he found the door to one of the rooms ajar. The conversation from within drifted into his ears, impossible to ignore...

Aaron Wyatt was elegantly cutting his steak as he spoke in a clear, gentle voice, "Annabelle, after we get married, where do you want to go for our honeymoon? Seraphine? Hawaii? The Maldives? Or maybe Africa?"

They both chuckled after he said it. Who goes to Africa for a honeymoon?

Annabelle Linton smiled, her voice carrying a barely perceptible warmth. "You decide. I’m fine with wherever we go."

"But don’t wives usually pick the honeymoon spot?" Aaron Wyatt asked, looking at her with a mock-aggrieved expression.

Wife...

That one word was like a needle plunging into Leona Grant’s heart, making it hard for him to breathe.
