Chapter 447: Chapter 447: We Leave Together
He was taking in his surroundings when Annabelle Linton’s voice suddenly called out—
"Leona, hurry! Run! Don’t worry about me!"
Leona Grant looked over and saw that he was running, pulling Annabelle Linton by the hand. She couldn’t keep up.
Their clothes were torn, and they looked utterly wretched.
’This looks like the year I was nineteen, the time I was kidnapped. But why don’t I remember this part of it...?’
’Or rather, I know I was kidnapped, but I had no idea Annabelle Linton was there.’
Leona Grant turned his curious gaze toward Annabelle Linton.
Annabelle Linton couldn’t run anymore. She pulled her hand free and said between gasps, "Leona, you go on ahead! Don’t worry about me. I planned this with Vivian before I snuck in. I would come save you, and she would call the police. You’re the one they’re after, not me. They probably won’t do anything to me. Go, quickly!"
’Vivian?’
The Leona Grant outside the dream felt a sense of foreboding when he heard that name.
"Cut the crap! If we’re going, we’re going together. There’s no way I’m leaving you here alone!"
The Leona Grant in the dream roared at her, then grabbed her hand and pulled her forward as he ran.
"They’re over here! Get over here, quick! They’re here! Don’t let them get away!" someone shouted, having spotted them.
"Damn it, so the girl wasn’t a delivery person. She must have called the cops. How dare they cross me! Get them! Kill them!" the leader shouted.
The others heard the command and immediately opened fire. BANG, BANG, BANG.
The Leona Grant outside the dream’s eyes shot wide open. He tried to pull Annabelle Linton out of the way, but it was useless. His hand passed right through her; he couldn’t touch her at all.
He was just a spectator!
Annabelle Linton reacted with lightning speed. With a sudden burst of strength from nowhere, she shoved Leona Grant aside. And then, multiple bullets slammed into her!
She was hit by five or six bullets in an instant. Both Leona Grants were stunned.
The Leona Grant outside the dream rushed over to hold Annabelle Linton, his face draining of all color.
’Annabelle Linton... she got hurt saving me!’
"Annabelle Linton! Annabelle Linton, are you okay? Are you okay?!" he roared.
But no one could hear his voice.
Just then, the wail of police and ambulance sirens filled the air. The kidnappers heard it and immediately scattered.
The Leona Grant in the dream stared at Annabelle Linton, completely stunned. Then, she collapsed against him.
Holding Annabelle Linton, he shouted the very same words in a panic, "Annabelle Linton! Annabelle Linton, are you okay?!"
Annabelle Linton weakly raised a hand to his face. "Leona... are... you hurt?"
Seeing Annabelle Linton bleeding all over, Leona Grant’s eyes instantly turned red. He cried out, "I’m fine! Annabelle Linton, I’m fine! Why did you push me?! You could die, don’t you know that?!"
"I know... But I couldn’t let anything happen to you..." Annabelle Linton smiled weakly. "As long as you’re... okay... I can rest easy..."
With that, she passed out.
The Leona Grant outside the dream felt a profound shock. ’This must be it. The time Ashley said Annabelle Linton took a bullet for me... the time she fell into a coma?’
’But... why don’t I remember any of this at all?’
"Annabelle Linton! Annabelle Linton!"
The Leona Grant in the dream scooped her into his arms and started running, shouting in a panic, "We’re going to get married! We’re going to be together and have lots and lots of babies, remember? You haven’t done any of those things, so how can you even think of leaving me!"
"Don’t you die! I’m warning you, don’t you dare die! If you die, I’ll never let you go, not in this life or the next! Do you hear me?!"
