Chapter 375: Chapter 373: I’ll Give You Five Minutes to Consider
Annabelle Linton was forced to a halt.
Leona Grant stood before her, furious, glaring at her as he roared, enunciating every word, "Annabelle Linton, don’t you dare tell me you weren’t serious about remarrying. I forbid it! I absolutely forbid it! Do you understand me?!"
Passersby on the street had already noticed them. Many turned to look, and some even stopped in their tracks, waiting for the drama to unfold.
Annabelle glanced around at the onlookers, then looked down and sighed.
’I knew he would make a scene.’
’I knew it. The moment this man shows up, he can’t rest until he’s caused some kind of trouble!’
’Honestly, I really hate this about him.’
’He does whatever he wants, with no regard for anyone else’s feelings.’
Annabelle had always been a private person who disliked being conspicuous. People like her hated being the center of attention, the subject of gossip and scrutiny.
She looked up at him for a moment, then said expressionlessly, "You know perfectly well why I said that, don’t you?"
"Annabelle Linton!"
The moment Leona Grant heard this, he exploded, his eyes turning bloodshot.
When he heard her agree to remarry him, he was so happy he felt like he was floating. ’But I never imagined she was lying to me!’
’She lied to me?’
’She lied to me!’
’Does she think I’m some kind of dog she can just toy with?!’
Annabelle stared at him, speechless, and said impatiently, "Can you stop being so crazy? Yes, I agreed just now, but I said I would *consider* it. *Consider*! Do you even know what that word means?"
Hearing this, Leona Grant’s expression softened slightly, but he still said angrily, "Then consider it! Did you look like you were considering anything just now? You’re just fucking going back on your word!"
Annabelle: "..."
She was speechless. ’What is ’considering’ supposed to look like?’
’I haven’t said a single word since we left the building!’
’Is this psycho out of his mind? He started dragging me to get remarried the moment we walked out the door. What was I supposed to say?!’
Seeing she was silent, Leona Grant grabbed her hand, a frown on his face. In a magnanimous tone, he urged, "Fine, consider it now. I’ll give you five minutes. Hurry up."
Annabelle: "..."
’Isn’t the person doing the considering supposed to decide how long they need?’
’Even if that’s not the case, what the hell is five minutes?’
Annabelle pulled her hand away, frowning as she said coldly, "Five minutes isn’t enough time. I need to go home and think about it for a few days. Don’t come looking for me. I need to think this through properly."
"A few days?" Leona Grant’s expression soured. "How many days? Be specific."
"A week or so."
’That was being generous,’ she thought. ’The result would be the same regardless.’
"A week or so?" Leona Grant’s expression changed again, his voice rising in disbelief.
Annabelle stated with a sanctimonious, deadpan expression, "Marriage isn’t a game."
Leona Grant stared at her intently, his eyes dark and unreadable.
Annabelle’s gaze drifted elsewhere; she didn’t look at him.
After a moment, Leona Grant suddenly grabbed her and started walking. "Let’s go. We’re going to get remarried right now!"
"..." Annabelle froze.
’Am I hearing things? Here we go again.’
She stressed exasperatedly, "I just said I’d consider it."
"And what’s the result of your consideration going to be? Remarriage, right? Since we’re going to get remarried anyway, why waste a whole week?"
"..."
He looked at her speechless expression, his tone hostile. "Am I wrong?"
"Does ’considering it’ mean there’s only one possible outcome?" Annabelle was truly at a loss for words. For a split second, she wondered if she was dealing with a sane human being.
’He’s a complete moron!’
"What other outcome would there be?"
