Chapter 374: Chapter 372: Let’s Go, Let’s Get Remarried

Annabelle Linton looked at his expectant eyes, and a dazed look flickered across her own.

She used to look at Leona Grant the exact same way.

She had hoped he would spare her a glance, wished he would be just a little kinder to her... just a little was all she asked for.

No one could understand that kind of nerve-wracking anticipation, nor could they understand the heartbreak of being rejected.

To her, Leona Grant was now neither an enemy nor someone she hated. They were simply strangers who had crossed paths.

She just wanted to get away from him and live her life in peace.

No matter how he had hurt her in the past, she wouldn’t hurt others in the same way.

In this world, people who toy with the feelings of others are the absolute worst.

She didn’t want to become the kind of person she despised most.

Therefore, she had no reason and no right to hurt him.

Seeing Annabelle Linton’s silence, Leona Grant pressed his lips together, a hint of sadness surfacing on his face.

He looked at her, dejected, and said in a low voice, "Just once, please? We were married for so many years, and you never once held my hand..."

Annabelle Linton glanced at him. Seeing the anticipation in his eyes and thinking of her past self, she ultimately couldn’t find it in her heart to refuse.

’I’ll just consider this an apology for giving him hope only to disappoint him.’

’Having experienced this kind of pain, I don’t want anyone else to go through it, not even the person who once hurt me.’

She reached out and took his hand. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

His hand was slightly warm. Leona Grant’s lips curved upward as he gripped her hand tighter, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Thank you, wife."

Thunderous applause erupted from the surrounding crowd. Some people even shed tears.

Annabelle was speechless.

’Give him an inch and he’ll take a mile!’

She really wanted to remind him, again, that they were already divorced!

Annabelle pulled him out the door, her face an emotionless mask.

The moment they were outside, Leona Grant gripped her hand and said excitedly, "Let’s go, let’s go get remarried!"

Annabelle turned a deaf ear and kept walking forward.

Leona Grant held her hand, feeling a wave of satisfaction and a sense of dazed bliss.

He pressed her hand to his chest, lost in his happiness, and mused aloud, "We can finally be together again. Annabelle Linton, no matter what, I will never divorce you again."

"How about we get married in Seraphine this time? I heard it’s incredibly romantic to get married there. I’m going to give you the grandest wedding in the entire world."

Their first wedding had been a complete disaster.

Every time Leona Grant thought about their wedding, he felt he had wronged Annabelle Linton deeply. So this time, he was determined to give her the most beautiful and unforgettable wedding imaginable.

He tightened his grip on her hand and promised, "Annabelle Linton, I won’t hurt you like I did before. Please, believe me. Thank you for giving me this chance. I’ll cherish it. We’ll be together forever. This time, I won’t let you down."

Annabelle kept walking as if she hadn’t heard a word, pulling her hand free in the process.

Leona Grant stared at his empty hand, took two more steps, and finally realized something was wrong. He stopped in his tracks.

Annabelle’s steps didn’t falter.

He watched her unrelenting back, his eyes instantly turning cold as if coated with a layer of ice. "Annabelle Linton, you’re playing me, aren’t you?"

Annabelle’s pace faltered for a moment, but then she quickened her steps and continued forward.

Seeing that she didn’t even turn her head, Leona Grant became even more certain of his suspicion.

He stood his ground, his face completely cold, and shouted at her retreating figure, "Annabelle Linton, you take one more step and see what happens! You owe me an explanation for today!"

Still, Annabelle ignored him and kept walking.

A sharp glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes. In a few strides, he was in front of her, blocking her path. "I said, you owe me an explanation!"
