Chapter 357: Chapter 355: Who Are You on the Phone With? 7

Annabelle Linton figured out the answer instantly. A faint smile touched her lips. "Childish."

"Hm? I’ve been thinking about it all day and couldn’t come up with anything. You know the answer?"

"Idiot," Annabelle Linton said dismissively, then blurted out without a second thought, "Darling, I love you."

The moment the words left her mouth, she heard Aaron Wyatt’s delighted laughter and realized she’d been set up.

Annabelle Linton gave a resigned laugh. Just as she was about to speak, however...

"BANG—"

The door let out a deafening crash!

Leona Grant kicked the door open, storming in like a demon. He strode to Annabelle Linton and snatched the phone from her hand!

Annabelle Linton: "????" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

She was the very picture of bewilderment. Her hand was still frozen in the shape of holding her phone, unable to react.

Leona Grant picked up the phone, and the screen, sensing the movement, lit up.

In an instant, three large words burned into his eyes: "Annabelle’s Aaron Wyatt." Above the contact name was a photo.

Leona Grant squeezed his eyes shut, his grip tightening on the phone. He could feel a storm of rage churning inside him, threatening to burn him alive if he didn’t let it out.

His eyes snapped to the photo.

Under the brilliant sun, the two of them were smiling with what could only be described as conspiratorial intimacy.

Aaron Wyatt, in particular, had an arm slung over Annabelle Linton’s shoulder, his eyes fixed on her in a lecherous squint while his cheek was pressed right up against hers!

Leona Grant’s head snapped toward Annabelle Linton. The smile hadn’t yet faded from her lips.

Instantly, another wave of fury shot through him.

’This woman! With me, she always looks like I owe her a million bucks. But with Aaron Wyatt, it’s all gentle smiles and sweet nothings! All cutesy and affectionate!’

’Damn it!’

’It’s a crime punishable by death!’

Leona Grant stared daggers at Annabelle Linton, his eyes like two burning nails, his gaze so intense it felt like it could bore a hole right through her.

His rage was simmering, and he was just about to explode, but it wasn’t over yet.

Aaron Wyatt’s gentle, clear voice drifted from the phone, "Mm, darling, I love you too."

"CRASH!"

Annabelle Linton’s phone was slammed onto the floor!

Annabelle Linton frowned at him, but before she could say a word, Leona Grant loomed over her, his hand gripping her slender chin painfully. "Annabelle Linton, I need an explanation!"

Annabelle Linton finally snapped back to reality.

’Great, here we go again.’

’He’s having one of his fits again.’

She tried to push him away, rolling her eyes in exasperation. She was about to say something, but Leona Grant’s mouth opened like a machine gun, firing off a barrage of words so fast she couldn’t get a single one in edgewise. "Who were you on the phone with? ’Your’ Aaron Wyatt? You’ve gone too far, Annabelle Linton! Did you really have to fucking twist the knife in my heart like this?"

"Do you have any idea what I’ve been through these past two months without you? I’ve been thinking about you every single day, desperate to see you just once. I can’t even sleep from thinking about you. And this is what you show me, huh?"

"Are you insane? I—"

"Yes, I know we’re divorced! I know we’re not together anymore! But does being divorced really mean we can never get back together?"

"Sometimes, I really don’t understand why you hate me so much. Is it because I neglected you and treated you badly before? Well, I regret it now! I want to make it up to you, is that so wrong? Besides, do you really think the pain you’re putting me through now is any less than what I put you through? Do you think I’m not in agony?"

"It’s just as painful! Sometimes the heartache is so bad I wish I would just drop dead. Then they could lay my cold corpse in front of you, and I could finally see if you’d feel even a flicker of sadness!"

Annabelle Linton: "..."

She felt so incredibly wronged.
