Chapter 85: Chapter 79: Two Faced Heavenly Demon
All of the Demon Monarchs immediately knelt down and waited for the Heavenly Demon to sit on his throne. As soon as he did, the Demon Monarchs yelled, "MAY THE HEAVENLY DEMON CONQUER HEAVEN AND EARTH! MAY THE DIVINE DEMONIC CULT REIGN OVER ALL!"
The Heavenly Demon nodded and ordered, "Stand up."
The Demon Monarchs stood up, but their gaze never left the ground. Whether out of fear or respect, they deemed it almost sacrilegious to even look at him.
The Heavenly Demon said, "I have gathered you here today for three reasons. First, I want you to start rallying your forces. Call back all spies and completely erase the Cult’s presence from Murim. When it is done, start making preparations. In two years at most, we will go to war."
The Demon Monarchs were confused. War? With whom? Why so suddenly? Was the Heavenly Demon not satisfied? Did he intend to repeat the plan from thirty years ago? They had many questions, but they didn’t dare ask them. The Heavenly Demon’s word was law. If he ordered them to do it, it would be done.
The Heavenly Demon continued, "Be brutal in training your forces. This war will have only one of two conclusions; either the Cult will rule Murim, or we will be burnt to ashes."
The Demon Monarchs started smiling. How long had it been since they had gone on a rampage? The timing was great. They were just starting to feel a little stifled. Each one of them had a reputation so fearsome that mothers used their names to scare their children to sleep. They would say, "Fall asleep, or the Demon Monarchs will come for you."
Of course, that didn’t mean they were bloodthirsty maniacs. They were perfectly sane, just incredibly bloodthirsty. They craved slaughter. Not to mention, to them, who grew up in the Cult, being able to personally help in accomplishing the Cult’s greatest goal was an honor worth more than their lives.
The Poison King didn’t really care about ruling Murim. What excited him the most was the fact that his grandson, his blood and flesh, would be the one ruling Murim. Just as he was getting excited, he calmed himself down by thinking, "I shouldn’t count my chickens before they hatch. The Heavenly Demon still hasn’t said anything about his heir."
Just then, the Heavenly Demon said, "I have also chosen my heir, the next Heavenly Demon."
The Poison King thought, "Never mind. My grandson will rule Murim."

The Heavenly Demon said, "Let me explain. You all know how he founded the Cult, but not how he gained the strength to do that. This is something that is passed from one Heavenly Demon to the next via speech, so there are no written records. The first Heavenly Demon, the founder of the Divine Demonic Cult and my ancestor, was born a commoner in very tough times. One day, his village was slaughtered by a passing regiment of soldiers. He was just a child then. He survived only because he was in the nearest city with his father, selling jewelry made from flowers. When they returned, they found that the village had been massacred, including his younger siblings and pregnant mother.
His father was a weak man and committed suicide out of grief. He wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps, but his thirst for vengeance guided him onto another path. Now, there are different versions of this part, but from what I know, he cried tears of blood, praying to the Heavens, Gods, and even Demons, anyone who was listening to hear his plea. He was ready to sacrifice his very being for a chance at vengeance.
Luckily for him, a being far greater than any God or Demon heard his prayer and answered. They didn’t ask for much in return, just sincere faith, and created the Nine Lotus Hells Technique especially for the ancestor. He graciously accepted the new name that the being bestowed upon him, Cheon Ma, and then, he went on a vengeance spree against the corrupt Emperor who didn’t care for his people. The hypocritical so-called ’Righteous’ Alliance, that only cared for superficial honor and glory. The rest were just collateral damage, not that he cared.
He created the Cult for two reasons: to repay his benefactor by spreading his faith all over Murim. That is why our one true goal has been to conquer Murim. Second, to complete the one request that his benefactor had asked of him. Apparently, the being foresaw that his successor would be born in the Cheon Bloodline. The true inheritance refers to the inheritance of that being. And my son, Cheon Ryeong, has become that being’s successor."
The Heavenly Demon was about to say something but was interrupted by a rude voice, "My son has become whose successor?"
