Chapter 482: Chapter 482 - Unique Monster(Part 3)
"R-Right, sorry...I got an alert on my System, telling me that I could use that Unique Monster’s broken Core to turn you into a Unique Monster. I’m sorry...this means you aren’t human anymore, but there was no time to ask if you were okay with being saved that way. The moment the alert popped up, the only thought in my mind was using it to save you."
"I see...that’s, uh...wow. I’m a Unique Monster now? Actually, I do feel a bit different, now that I focus on it. And you have nothing to apologize for, Larrk...I’m glad you saved me, and I’m totally fine with this. I mean, come on, how many times have I told you how envious I am of your body? If anything, this is great!" She grinned cheerfully.
"Really?"
"Mhm, yeah. Now, you no longer need to worry about ending up alone, right? Oh, I wonder what kind of abilities I have now?" She mused curiously, before perking up as a display popped up in front of her, "Cool, I’ve got a System now too! Huh, it’s showing me a list of Skills, and it’s also displaying points. Ohh, I get it, I can use these points to get the Skills I want!
There’s a warning here at the bottom...looks like once I pick my Skills and use up my points, I can’t go back and change my mind. Hm, looks like I don’t have to pick them right away, though. There’s so much to choose from, but based on the number of points I’ve been given, I can only pick around four or five Skills, maybe six if I go for ones that cost less points. Cool, looks like I have Regeneration and Immortality by default."
I smiled as I watched her go on excitedly while scrolling through the list of Skills. I feel so damn relieved, I can’t put into words how grateful I am for the fact that she’s alive.
"I, uh...I’m sorry again for kissing you. I got carried away in the heat of the moment and let my emotions get the better of me," I apologized, as she put away her System display.
"I-It’s fine, I already said you don’t need to apologize for that. Actually...if it’s okay, um...can you do that again? I-It felt nice, but it happened so fast, it was over before I could really process it. So, c-could you...could you kiss me again?" She stuttered bashfully as she met my gaze, my heart skipping a beat.
"Y-Yeah, okay," I nodded, reaching out and caressing her cheek as she closed her eyes and tilted her head up slightly.
I pressed my lips against hers, kissing her softly, before she followed my lead as she relaxed, placing a hand on my chest and leaning into the kiss more firmly as I caressed her lips between mine.
I suppressed my urge to take it further, letting her control the pace. She hasn’t done this before, so I don’t want to overwhelm her.
"Huh? Why’d you stop?" She asked me as I pulled away, the two of us breathing heavily as we tried to catch our breath.
"Oh, well, I...I didn’t want to take it too far, a bit longer and I’d have struggled to hold myself back," I admitted sheepishly.
"I-I see..."
"Also, we should probably get out of here soon, it’ll take a while to get back to the entrance, so the sooner we leave, the better."
"Yeah, that’s true...but, um, could we do it just a little bit more? It felt good," She responded in a slight whisper, a gleam of desire in her eyes as she leaned in towards me, her breath brushing my lips.
"W-Well, I-...o-okay, a little more shouldn’t hurt..."
...
...
"Finally, we’re out! That took forever!" Exclaimed Celes with a sigh of relief as we stepped of the Dungeon, before adding as she looked around, "It’s gotten pretty dark out, huh? Hey, can we have some booze and watch anime when we get back?"
"Sure, drink as much as you want tonight, and whatever you want to watch, just say the word," I smiled as I patted her head.
"Yay, thanks, Larrk!" She grinned cheerfully, before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards her, giving me a kiss.
She kept doing this all the way through our journey back down the Dungeon, it didn’t take long before I lost count of the number of times she kissed me. Not that I’m complaining, of course...to think that I was worried about overwhelming her, because now I’m the one who’s starting to feel overwhelmed.
"Seems you’ve taken a liking to kissing, haven’t you?" I remarked in bemusement, as she took hold of my hand, lacing her fingers between mine.
"I, um...yeah," She nodded with a bashful smile, before adding, "By the way, since you kissed me, does that mean that you...y-you-...I-I mean, um, how do you feel about me?"
I was planning on addressing this once we got back to the cave, but since she brought it up, I suppose I should do it now.
"The rage I felt when that bastard injured you, the anguish I felt when I thought you were about to die, and the relief I felt when you survived...I have no doubts when I say that I’ve fallen for you, Celes. I...I love you. I enjoy every second we spend together, which is practically all the time, and I definitely find you incredibly attractive. Yeah, I think that sums it up in a nutshell...or would you like me to go into more detail?"
"N-No, that’s okay, I think I get the idea...it’d be embarrassing if you said any more. And, um...I feel the same way, I love you too, Larrk. So, like...since our feelings are mutual, does that mean you’re my boyfriend now?"
"I suppose it does, yeah. So long as you’re okay with that, of course."
"Huh? Of course I am!"
"Glad to hear it. I look forward to our future together," I smiled as I gave her hand a light squeeze.
"Mhm, me too!" She nodded cheerfully.
I really didn’t think I’d find happiness in this world, especially this soon after reincarnating. I’m so glad I met her...
