Chapter 448: Chapter 448 - Cherished Memories(Part 1)

"So, you really came from another world? That is quite difficult to wrap my head around," Remarked Satan in bemusement.

"I can confirm that it’s true, my Lord, I did see all his memories while my consciousness was inside of him, after all," Chimed in Azazel.

About half an hour had passed, and I was currently hanging out with the Demons. I realized that I didn’t have enough time to spend time with everyone one on one, so I figured I’d hang out with them in small groups instead.

It’d be hard to interact properly with everyone if I was hanging with all of them at the same time, after all...and since this’ll be the last day I get to spend with them, I want to make sure my final interactions with everyone close to me is as memorable as possible.

I was currently chilling in a room at the castle, with Satan, Lucifer, Azazel and Pavorphobus, sharing a bottle of wine with them.

"I have to say, it is nice to be able to see and speak with you again, Uncle Azazel. After we were all sealed away, I thought I’d never see any of you again," Remarked Lucifer with a smile.

"Yes, it is nice to have my own body again...but it is also rather bittersweet. I certainly didn’t have an awful time after forming a Contract with Larrk, I quite enjoyed it. I truly am grateful to you, Larrk...not only did you save my life, but you were true to your word and freed the others. Not only that, but with Arcadia, you’ve given us a place to call home again, a place where we can live peacefully. I cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done," Stated Azazel with a respectful bow of his head.

"H-hey, come on, man...there’s no need for all that. I mean, everything I’ve done was ultimately for my own personal goal of living a peaceful life in this world, so you don’t have to thank me," I replied, feeling a bit awkward.

"I disagree...if I don’t thank you, I know I will regret it."

"Indeed...it is no exaggeration to say that you are the savior of us Demons, Larrk Stryker. And for that, you have my eternal gratitude. Rest assured, your name will never be forgotten in this world, I shall make sure of it," Declared Satan with a determined look in his eyes.

"Yeah, that’s the least we can do after everything you’ve done for us," Nodded Lucifer in agreement.

"Yes, we owe you a debt we cannot ever hope to repay. I mean, I was quite wary of you and the other humans initially, and if I’m being honest, I didn’t really make much of an effort to get to know you even after that, but...there is no denying that we would be far worse off if it wasn’t for you," Spoke up Pavorphobus.

Damn it...this is too much, I feel like my heart is breaking apart. I’m doing my best to hold it together, but I’m not sure I can.

"I’m...I’m grateful to all of you as well. I would never have been able to make Arcadia prosper the way it has if I didn’t have you guys by my side. The tournament was so much fun...I’ve had a blast. I just...I wish I had more time...," I trailed off as I felt a slight sting behind my eyes.

"I share that sentiment. I’ve truly enjoyed your company, and you have my utmost respect. It was a true honor to fight alongside you," Smiled Satan wistfully.

"Right, yeah...it wasn’t just releasing us from our seals, you also saved us from the Vampires. Not to mention the Balancer...I wish we had enough time to repay you for all of that," Added Lucifer with a nod.

"Come on, I can’t take credit for the win against the Vampires...that was the combined efforts of everyone, there was absolutely no way in hell that I could’ve pulled that off by myself," I pointed out.

"True, but the same cannot be said of the Balancer. That was all you, the rest of us were completely ineffective against him. And as soon as you realized that, you immediately made the decision to fight him by yourself...well, our choice in the matter was taken out of our hands by that barrier he cast, but still, that does not change the fact that you chose to face that threat alone, for our sake," Remarked Pavorphobus gratefully.

"I just...I didn’t want to lose anyone. That’s why, even though my time in this world is coming to an end, I don’t regret it...I’m glad everyone else made it out alive. And my legacy will live on because of that, make sure to build a big-ass statue of me in every city!" I grinned jokingly.

"Oh, that’s a great idea," Nodded Satan thoughtfully.

"What? Uh, no, I was just kidding-..."

"It’s decided, we shall erect statues in your imagine in every city in Arcadia. You are, essentially, the founder of the nation, after all. You named it, and it was your vision that has led this nation to the current prosperity it enjoys. Oh, perhaps we should rename the capital after you...Larrk City," Suggested Lucifer with a smile.

Well, if I’m not here, then there’s not much point in keeping the name ’Isekai City’, since I’m the only one who’d get it. But...I don’t know, having it renamed in my honor feels kinda embarrassing.

"I’ll just let you guys and everyone else in charge decide all that stuff...and on that note, I leave Arcadia in your hands. I have little doubt that it’s in safe hands with you guys and the others...a nation of peace where anyone, regardless of race, can co-exist in harmony. I entrust that to you," I smiled as I bowed my head to them.

"And we shall honor that, you have my word," Replied Satan, placing his right hand over his heart as he bowed.

"I second that notion, we will make sure that nothing or no one ever dishonors your legacy," Said Azazel assuringly.

"Uh, I have nothing profound to add, so...what they said," Smiled Pavorphobus awkwardly.

"To Larrk Stryker!" Declared Lucifer as she held her glass up, the other following her lead and raising their glasses as well.

"C-come on, we don’t need to get all sappy...but, I will say this much...I’m truly grateful to have met all of you. And I promise, I’ll never forget any of you, no matter how many worlds I live through. The time I’ve spent in this world, the memories I’ve made...I’ll cherish every single one of them."
