Chapter 443: Chapter 443 - Balance(Part 11)
This isn’t going well...at least, I think it’s not. It’s hard to say when I have no idea how much I’ve damaged him and how much more I need to damage him to finish him off once and for all.
As for me, my Mana’s down to a little over a third of my full capacity. Should I be more conservative with my attacks? Or should I keep attacking at full force? Either way, the risk is high, what with all the unknowns as to my opponent.
I then fired out a blast of Dragon Fire to my left as he teleported, before flying back as I sent my whips extending out towards him rapidly, but he was quickly to teleport away.
As he teleported again, my gaze darted across to either side before I rapidly spun around, spotting him reappear behind me before I fired out a lightning bolt at him from my mouth.
To my surprise, he stepped forward, letting my attack hit him before driving his fist towards me with immense force.
I opened a portal into my Pocket Dimension as his fist closed in on me, his arm plunging into the portal before I swiftly shut it as he halted and began to pull back, severing his arm around the elbow, before grimacing as it grew back in an instant.
Looks like that portal trick isn’t effective against him, and he’s able to react fast enough to stop himself before his entire body could go through the portal, so trying to trap him in my Pocket Dimension is unlikely to work...and even if I was able to swallow him up in the portal, I somehow doubt it’d hold him.
I’ll still try, but I’m not going to rely on that as an option to defeat him...it’ll be a bonus if it works, but I can’t count on it with any real certainty.
He then stomped on the ground, triggering a shockwave to blow me away, sending me hurtling through the air before my back slammed onto the barrier with immense force, as I just barely managed to minimize the impact by turning my body into slime.
I quickly unleashed a blazing wave of Dragon Fire towards him, but once again, he let the attack hit him, and drove his foot towards me.
I slithered across the barrier and narrowly evaded his kick, another shockwave bursting out as his foot collided against the barrier with crushing force, before I gritted my teeth as I got sent flying across to the left, wrapping one of my whips around the handle of my right dagger before flinging it towards him, shooting out a pressurized burst of wind to speed it up.
He quickly teleported out of the way, reappearing a few meters across, before I grabbed the whip and cracked it with a sharp flick of my wrist, swinging it across along with the dagger, which sliced through the air rapidly.
He teleported away again, before I unleashed a piercing Negative Energy blast as he then teleported above me, my attack hitting the middle of his face as he balled his fists together and swung them down towards me.
I moved my core as fast away from the trajectory of his fists as I turned my entire body to slime, his fists slamming onto my face and splattering it across the ground upon impact, a deafening crash ringing out as a crater formed below, bits of dirt and grass flying out as deep cracks spread out across the ground.
I then fired out a blast of Dragon Fire at him as he raised his fists up again, but he didn’t bother avoiding it, letting the flames hit him before starting to swing his fists back down again as I sent one of my whips shooting towards his neck while slashing at his torso with my left blade.
To my surprise, he teleported away as my whip closed in on his neck, reappearing a fair distance away as I re-formed my body and got back onto my feet.
Hold on, something’s off...he suddenly stopped dodging my Spells, so I assumed he must have decided to just tank my attacks and try to overwhelm me.
But he’s clearly avoiding attacks from my Soul Weapon...that has to mean that my Soul Weapon is a lot more effective against him than my Spells are.
Yeah, now that I think about it, his regeneration has been especially slow with repairing damage I’ve inflicted with my whips and daggers.
Besides my Soul Weapon, I’ve primarily been using only my strongest Spells to attack him, Lightning Magic and Dragon Fire.
Spells aside, I haven’t used any of my other abilities...and now, I think they’re worth a shot...
I then opened my mouth as I shot towards him and unleashed a deafening sonic screech, but it had no effect, the wave engulfing him and inflicting no damage, before I zipped across as he teleported to my right as stomped down towards me, a deafening crash ringing out as his foot slammed onto the ground.
As he teleported above me, I turned my gaze up and fired out sticky spider threads from my fingertips, while simultaneously producing venom in my mouth, vaporizing it with flames before firing it out with a gust of wind, unleashing a cloud of poison mist.
The attacks had no effect on him, my body tensing up as he drove his hand towards my throat, before I extended out Magic Eater, the jaws engulfing his fist and forearm before snapping shut as I braced myself-...huh?
He then immediately teleported away, everything below his right elbow missing...no way, did that actually work?
My mind kinda blanked and I just went with Magic Eater...I was focused on trying options that I hadn’t used yet, and in my panic, I ended up using Magic Eater on impulse.
And it worked...incredibly well. He’s struggling to grow his arm back, I-...suddenly, I stumbled back as an immense wave of pain erupted across my body, coughing out blood with an agonized wheeze.
Wh-what just...?
I-I think I get it...I just transferred the energy that Magic Eater consumed to myself, in an effort to replenish some Mana. And as soon as I did, that wave of pain burst out, like my body was rejecting it.
I see, seems whatever energy fuels him is toxic to me, in the same way that my attacks are toxic to him.
Also, I was very much vulnerable just now, but he didn’t attack...he’s wary of Magic Eater, he doesn’t want to get close until he thinks of a way to get around it.
When I consume energy with Magic Eater, I can either disperse the energy or absorb it...I should clearly avoid the latter against him, so dispersion it is.
Wait, hold on...his arm disappeared when Magic Eater chomped down, it isn’t supposed to be able to inflict physical damage. Does that mean...
"Oh, I get it now...you’re some kind of energy-based being, aren’t you? No wonder regular physical attacks have no effect on you...does this mean anyone with the Magic Eater Skill can damage you? Or am I an exception? I suppose it doesn’t really matter...because now, I know for sure that I can defeat you," I stated, smirking as he backed away as I took a step towards him...
